The property is just as listed, and one of the nicest places we've stayed. It's secluded which was so calm and relaxing, especially in the spring mornings and evenings but also so close to downtown Apalachicola (only 10 min drive!), we had easy access to everything. If you're in town for an event at The Lodge, you can just walk there! The property manager was very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend this for a relaxing stay in Apalachicola!
The place was great and very spacious. With the wedding/rehearsal event walkable distance (right around the corner) couldn’t have been more perfect. Would recommend to anyone especially if involved with an event st the clubhouse!
Our son got married at The Lodge and this house was steps away from the venue. Beautiful house. The pictures online do not do the property justice. We had a wonderful stay.

Close enough to town but totally private, this 4-bedroom home is convenient for your stay to celebrate your event at The Lodge @ Rivercrest.
We had a group of 7 for a long weekend . The house was immaculate and had everything we needed to relax a on the front porch, cook meals and sleep comfortably. This is a very well maintained property!
We enjoyed the large dining table, front porch rocking chairs and the spacious living room. The privacy along with the East proximity into Apalachicola (5min drive) made this vacation property perfect!
We were 3 ladies in town for an Art event. The house is lovely and modern. The reason for 4 stars is it could have been slightly cleaner. One bedroom and a few towels did not seem fresh so we rewashed them. The dryer is slow and probably needs replacing. Other than that everything else is beautiful and I would have given it 5 stars. Each of us had our own bedroom and bathroom. Also the tv had no instructions and 4 remotes so I watched my laptop. They may want to type instructions out and leave them there on how to work tv.
Air works perfectly and kitchen is modern. Two large bedrooms are upstairs with a large bathroom and two bedrooms and two baths downstairs so a large family can stay.
Location is a bit out of the town of Apalachicola and in a very wooded area. Drive out there is not horrible. Great if that is what you want. No neighbors. Our event was in town.

Very cute but needs pest control
Overall we had a great stay at our house. However there are a few things that took away from our experience the first being the check in process. Usually with VRBO you can go directly to the house but in this case we had to pick up a key and another rental agreement from the reality office. We were late check ins so the manager called me clearly annoyed.
Next our upstairs shower was very dirty, hair on the walls from the previous guests and soap rings from their bottles were left.
We had scorpions in the living room (crack in the front door) and finally they ask you not to charge your phones, tablets or laptops in the bedrooms because you could throw the breaker. As someone who uses their phone for an alarm this was the most annoying part.
Overall the stay was fine but the property management company definitely needs to address some of their issues.

For your security we always require all guests to check in at Robinson Real Estate Company. This property is not owned or operated by VRBO. Owners stay here often and have never seen a scorpion in all the years since house was built. Housekeeper is exceptional - may have made a human error one time.
The house was very clean and well kept. The rooms were spacious, with plenty of shelves/drawers/closet space. It was quiet, a bit away from town, which is what we wanted. Each morning, we walked down to the Bay City Marina, about 1 mile round trip. We did a boat tour with Captain Gill Autrey, who was the property developer, and builder of that house. I asked him about the problem with charging cell phones in the bedrooms, and he just said there was a different kind of circuit breaker that couldn't handle the chargers. Also, my husband was really looking forward to launching his kayak from the boat launch, but at least 150 feet of the launch access was overgrown with water hyacinth, and it was all silted in, with only 6 -12 inches of water, no matter the tide. Despite this being the only house in the development, there were several cars that came in and out of there. Looks like one of the lots may have been resurveyed. The traffic didn't bother us, but seemed odd, since ours was the only house. There was trash at the far lots, so clearly people do come in there and hang out. We did not feel any threat from the traffic, and I would recommend this house, if you are looking for a spacious, quiet and very clean place to rent.
The house is in a secluded (for the time being) location. There are no other houses on this road. It is a quick trip to downtown Apalachicola. Beautiful open floor plan makes quality time with others a breeze.
Cons: I didn't see the note about not plugging cell phones/laptops to charge in to the bedrooms until after I completed the rental. I'm not sure what the deal is there. It seriously says in the material to not plug devices into the bedroom outlets, or it will trip the breakers. Nevertheless, I was able to plug in and use my C-PAP without a hitch or tripping breakers. If this is truly an issue, it really needs to be addressed. Not being able to use medically prescribed equipment to aid sleep could be a major issue for others.
I would highly suggest to bring your own pillows, as the ones provided are so terrible that neither my wife or I got a solid night sleep here. Even stacked three pillows high, they were flatter than the single pillow I have at my own home. No issues with the bed or bedding. I would suggest the owners look at upgrading the pillows.
It would also be nice if the front porch was screened in and had ceiling fans. We really enjoyed our morning coffee there, but being Florida, the mosquitos quickly drove us back inside. Maybe we didn't see it in the kitchen cabinets, but a toaster would be a nice addition as well.
Overall, minus the lack of sound sleep, I would stay here again (and bring my own pillows).

The property was advertised to sleep 8 which is accurate. There was one towel for each person. Only two bath mats but three bathrooms. Very few wash clothes and hand towels. One bathroom had one complimentary bar of soap and one extra roll of toilet tissue in the house.
Two kitchen towels, no ice maker, no stoppers for either kitchen sink (I was told to use a pot as a sink).
Light bulbs were out.
We literally washed towels every other day. The girls who are used to putting their hair in one towel and drying off with another towel were out of luck.
The property is not well groomed at all!
Once inside the house it was pretty good but the outside was not inviting.
The fact that we could not charge cellphones or any electronics in the bedrooms made for evenings of getting everything charged up. My husband and I own a service business responsible for 600 customers. We must be available 24/7. My daughter is a property manager of over 400 condos. She, too, must be available at all times.
These things are ok if they are disclosed before renting. I feel the overall description is misleading.
I’m not blaming Kathy. Maybe the owners are to blame.
We had a great vacation. We made the best of the accommodations but we will not rent this house again.

It is customary in our industry to provide one bath towel per guest. We did provide additional towels and sink stopper during this stay. (Property advertised as Self Serve Vacation Rental - we provide starters of guest amenities.)
The house was just as pictured. It was clean and very nice. The location was quiet. Loved having no neighbors. Just a short drive into town. Checkin / checkout was easy. Robinson realty was helpful and friendly. Returned emails or calls immediately. Would definitely recommend.
This house in Apalachicola was very nice and quite comfortable. It was furnished beautifully and had everything we needed. The location was great too. If we had any complaint at all it would be that the TV only had 3 channels to choose from.

Nice weekend
The house interior was clean and enjoyable for a group of 6. The grounds were overgrown and the house's location was remote. Our time spent in Apalachicola was enjoyable.
First time to this area of Florida. Came with my family for Spring Break. House was exactly as appears in photos. Very remote undeveloped subdivision yet only about a 3 mile drive into the quaint downtown. The beds were very comfortable. My favorite thing about this house was the front with rockers to drink my coffee. It’s about a 15-20 minute drive to St. George Island beaches. Restaurants in the area are all local and were very good. Enjoyed our stay!
