About this property

Key Lime Cottage - 1930's 2 bed 2 bath beach cottage - Steps from the Sand

Step back in time with a stay in one of the first cottages built on the beach. Start your morning with a cup of coffee on your private deck watching the waves. Thomas Donuts across the street offers a variety of breakfast pastries and sandwiches, or take advantage of the equipped kitchen and cook your own.

When it's time to head to the beach, you're only a house and a street away from the sand. This section of public beach has no high-rises nearby so you can find your own space to enjoy the soft sand.

For a mid-day break from the sun, the large covered patio is a great place for a lunch without sand in your SANDwiches.

When you're done with the sand, we have an outdoor shower to rinse off and plenty of places to hang up your wet items to dry for the next day. There is also a washer & dryer to ensure you have clean suits and towels. We provide detergent and dryer sheets.

The sunset from the upper deck is a beautiful way to wrap up the day. There is also a table and chairs if you'd like to enjoy your dinner al fresco.

The cottage has two bedrooms, each with a new, comfortable queen bed. The master bedroom has an attached bathroom with stand-up shower. The second bathroom, also with a standup shower, is off the main living space.

We welcome your four-legged doggy family as well. We do ask that for the sake of guests after you, no dogs on the couch or beds please. An additional $150 pet fee will be charged after booking.

We have Electric Vehicle (EV) charging available to our guests with 40 amp service. It is provided at cost billed at checkout. Please let us know that you will need it so it can be activated for your stay.

- There is an exterior video surveillance system in use as well as Amazon Alexa for your use for music and information.

My sister and I (ages 74 and 62) stayed at Key Lime Cottage for 5 nights in July. The cottage is the perfect size for 2-4 people and we had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. It was an easy walk, with chiars and umbrella, back and forth from the beach. The deck was the perfect spot to drink coffee in the morning and watch the storms roll in in the evening, even in the July heat, there was always a cooling breeze. We can't wait to revisit Key Lime Cottage.

My husband and I love to spend time outdoors, sometimes that's on land camping and hiking, other times it's underwater scuba diving. We live near New Orleans with our two kids and our puppers, a pittie mix named Quinn. While the food at home can't be beat, the water around here is a bit too murky for diving and the shores too muddy. So we escape whenever we can to enjoy the Gulf views.

Why they chose this property

We found this cottage when looking for a quiet Thanksgiving retreat. The location was amazing - no high rises around, neighborhood atmosphere, cute historic cottage and that view from the deck! Once we arrived, we saw it was for sale and immediately the wheels started turning. I'm a lover of old houses and one of my hobbies is DIY renovations. All I could think of was giving this home the love it needed while enjoying all the location had to offer. By the time we left that weekend, we were certain we would be back.
