Nice house, but beware of surprise fees

The house was very nice, however, there were some issues when booking that people should be aware of. We booked the house, paid it in full, and then were contacted by the host and told that if we wanted sheets & towels, there would be an extra fee of €60 plus an extra cleaning fee of €100. The host told us the fees were to be paid upon arrival in cash. These extra fees were never mentioned in the listing. They were a total surprise. I questioned the host & was told that this is how it is done in France. I contacted VRBO & talked to 3 different reps, but they seemed more concerned the host was trying to charge us outside of the app (so VRBO doesn’t get their cut) than the fact that the host was charging us extra by surprise. VRBO wasn’t very helpful. They told me the host was not allowed to charge me extra, but they wouldn’t enforce the policy. They said to just leave a bad review because “no host wants a bad review,” but that doesn’t help if I arrive at the house & there are no sheets/towels. Eventually, they had the host remove the €60 fee, but we still had to pay the cleaning fee. I suggest if you want to rent this house, you speak with the host BEFORE you book the property, & make sure that there will be no surprise fees. The house is nice, especially the garden. The bathroom is new. However, the beds & pillows are not super comfortable. It’s a good location to explore Normandy & WWII sites. The woman who met us at the beginning & end, Sylvie, was really lovely.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Haus ist hübsch, vollständig ausgestattet und gemütlich eingerichtet und sauber. Der Garten ist groß, eine eigene Boule-Bahn hatten wir bisher auch noch nie. Man geht zu Fuß 10 Minuten bis zum Meer, etwas länger ins Städtchen, der Golfplatz liegt direkt nebenan, das direkte Umfeld hat Dorf- Charakter

Schönes Haus mit riesigen Garten.

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt bei Alexandre und Camille sehr genossen. Bei Fragen, oder Anliegen, wurde uns super schnell geholfen. Vielen Dank nochmals dafür! Das Haus hat Charme…. das ein oder andere müsste dringend mal ersetzt werden! Dennoch haben wir uns wohlgefühlt.

Super we en famille

Logement au top pour être en famille même avec des petits - une cuisine qui permet le partage entre tous 6 adultes et super bien équipée un coin chaleureux auprès de la cheminée et de grandes chambres pour tous. Nous n avons pas pu profiter de l extérieur compte tenu du temps mais il tient également toutes ses promesses ; nous recommandons cet hébergement et nous reviendrons

Wunderbar abseits gelegenen mit traumhaftem Garten

Wir waren zehn Tage in Port-en-Bessin in Alexandres wunderschönem Ferienhaus. Das Ferienhaus ist in einem Vorort gelegen, durch den Golfplatz vom Hauptort getrennt. Zu Fuß etwa eine dreiviertel Stunde vom nächsten Supermarkt und dem Hafen entfernt. Die Bilder zeigen sehr gut was das Haus zu bieten hat. Der große Garten war ein Traum. Unser Hund war völlig hin und weg. Dummerweise auch vom kleinen Teich. Aber dank des vorhandenen Gartenschlauches konnten wir sie wieder erkennen. Für Kinder/Babys ist ein Hochstuhl und ein Reisebett vorhanden. Alexandre bzw. Sylvie war jederzeit für uns für Fragen erreichbar. Wir hatten einmal ein Problem mit dem Klo, welches sie innerhalb von nur einer Stunde löste. Beim nächsten Mal für uns wichtig zu wissen: Für die Betten braucht es große Laken und auch die Bettdecken sind nicht die gewöhnlichen Standardgröße für die wir ausgerüstet waren. Aber das ließ sich einfach beheben. Die Ausstattung des Hauses war phänomenal. Zwei Kaffeemaschinen, ein Mixer, eine Knoblauchpresse. Es hat richtig Spaß gemacht in der Küche zu kochen. Wodurch wir viel seltener als geplant Essen gegangen sind. Ein kleines Manko ist die Hellhörigkeit des Hauses. Unsere kleine Abenteurerin (7 Monate alt) hat nachts alle vier Schlafzimmer wach gehalten. Vielen Dank für den tollen Urlaub.
