We highly enjoyed our stay. It was a great location and we got a lot of use out of the screened in porch. The coffee shop out back was a great visit in the morning.
Chesapeake charm with new kitchen appliances. The large yard and enclosed back porch were wonderful for our dog. Super location. Very clean and comfortable.
Thomas, our host, was incredibly prompt and responsive, which we really appreciated for our last-minute getaway. The location was perfect, everything was clean and comfortable, and check-in was a breeze. We absolutely love St. Michaels and enjoy it more with every visit. Looking forward to returning soon!
Had a great, relaxing stay at this property with a friend who came to MD for a short visit. The location is close to all of St Michaels restaurants & shops, and not far from the waterfront or the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. The property was very quaint and clean. Would recommend for anyone looking for a quiet getaway.
This was our 2nd time staying at this property! It is a perfect location and house for a girls weekend with my mother and daughter! Great communication with the owner! We will definitely rent again!
It's a lovely historic home with those types of quirks: narrow and steep stairs, railing that is definitely not up to code, original windows, not well insulated so it's a good thing that the neighborhood is quiet, one nail sticking out of the original floors in the DR near thr kitchen door. It was kept clean other than some cobwebs in corners. It is comphy but the furniture is all antiques to fit the vibe so some of it is fragile (curio tqble by front door had a busted leg when we arrived for example). However, the kitchen, full bath, washer/dryer, and powder room were qll clean and in good working condition. AC works well. Within easy walking distance to the main street of town. Backs up to a cute cafe, the local library, and the local police office. And the beds were comphy so a perfect place for a couple or small group yo enjoy St Michael's from.
We enjoyed our stay in this cottage. We understood it would be small, so that was not a surprise as some have mentioned in other reviews. It is well equipped and comfortable.
Very enjoyable stay. Nicely updated kitchen with new washer and dryer. Wifi excellent. Built in 1900 and furnished with antique pieces. Nice screened porch is a good place to leave your bikes. Close to Maritime Museum and restaurants.
This was a comfortable home, and a nice location. We were staying mostly for business, so didn’t do much in town, but the main restaurant and shopping areas are two short blocks away. We did use the nearby nature trail to walk our dogs. The only concerns others might have with the house, and the reason for four stars instead of five, were: minimal kitchen equipment (few pots/pans etc.), steep narrow stairs to the second floor, and low water pressure in the shower. That said, none of these things would prevent us from staying here again, and frankly we might try to next year.
I recently stayed here for a wedding and loved it. I am small and had a bed to myself. I was sharing the house with another couple and they are taller … the ceilings are low, the bathrooms small, and the bedrooms pretty cozy for two … it worked for us but beware that it really is small in every way. That said, it is an ideal location, clean, and has all the basics. I loved the screened in porch and the sweet yard. I would definitely go back.
Great location, close to down town St. Michaels! Very cute historic house.
Pool is a town/community pool .7 miles away.
As descirbed in other reviewes:
Pillows are flat/old, suggest to bring your own pillows. The AC on the ground floor is great, but limited on the second floor.
Everything was as expected and nice. The beds were noisy though. Just rolling over created a lot of noise. I think that could be solved with a better frame and a rug under the frame. Everything else was fine.
Very comfortable small bungalow house. Very clean. Looks exactly as advertised. Communication with the owner was very smooth. Instructions very clear. St. Michaels is a charming little harbor town. Lots of fund shops and restaurants. Warning, the stairs to the bedrooms is VERY narrow. Do not expect to carry large suitcases or other items up the stairs. Do not expect any extra niceties. Could use some new pillows. But overall, really enjoyed the stay.
The best part of this rental is the location and the back porch. The house will meet your needs, but not much more. It may just be my personal preference, but the very low ceilings seemed oppressive to me and made the house dark. The shower did not have enough pressure to get the shampoo out of my hair and the bathroom is extremely small. I hit my head every time I dropped something off of the tiny sink. Also none of the downstairs. windows lock. The house will meet your needs. The beds are comfortable, the TV is nice, the kitchen is minimally stocked, the AC worked well. I do wish someone would have given a more accurate review of the house. Tom is a good host and the location is perfect. We rented bikes and paddle boards and kayaks that we had delivered to the house or the lake for us. All in all we had a lovely time in St Michaels.
