We stayed in Ars for a 3 month sabbatical and were delighted to find it even more welcoming than the profile photos suggest. The house is decorated in an elegant but comfortable style. The open floor plan, high ceilings and many windows allow light to flood in, while the high garden walls maintain privacy. In the primary bedroom on the upper floor, one wakes up to a view of red tile roofs and flowering gardens. The second story loft space, including a desk area, a WC, sink and shower, gives the opportunity for privacy from the shared spaces below. The three lower bedrooms are perfect for visiting guests who can enjoy their own WC and double-sink washroom and walk-in shower. The dining room features a handsome wood plank table with seating for 8—perfect for a large family meal. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking. The stepped stone patio features a stone walled 3-sided lanai with a red-tiled roof and stylish and comfy outdoor sectional that effectively doubles the lounge space in good weather. It's a dreamy place to read, smell the roses and honeysuckle, or watch the moonrise. I cannot imagine a better location. "The fabulous seasonal market is a 10 min walk away, the well stocked little supermarket and pharmacy, a 4 min.walk, and the "wild coast," a 5 min. bike ride away. The property manager lives nearby is lovely and attentive, and the housekeeper is a gem too. The listing party/owner was extremely prompt in answering our queries, and was courteous and warm.
