Had a fantastic time at this lovely property. James was a fantastic host, the space was perfect for our girls getaway weekend (8 of us) and the location was fabulous. 5 stars and would absolutely recommend!
Such a lovely space. The location was fantastic! For an older house it's very cozy and very warm in the winter. This was perfect for us for a quick weekend away.
The house was perfect for our families. It was historic, clean and well-maintained, and had games and books for the kids. We played cornhole and even found a stroller that saved the day at the Mystic Seaport Museum. Location is enjoyably close to downtown and other Mystic attractions. Thanks for a great trip!

One TV in the living room
Living room seemed to be the 4th bedroom and is in the common area with the only Tv in the house. Good for a group if you are in the area and need someplace to sleep and store your things
We really enjoyed our stay, it had everything we needed in a clean and spacious atmosphere. It’s a quick walk into town, and the fire pit was wonderful to enjoy. Thanks for hosting James!
This home was very pleasant to stay in and in a good location. It fit our needs as a family of 5 adults very well. I would highlight the wonderful kitchen windows looking out on the yard, the good-size yard itself, and the solo stove fire pit with the solid chairs surrounding it.
This was the perfect home for our family ’s stay in Mystic. Plenty of space, plenty of parking, a spacious yard and amazing location. James was amazingly responsive to all of requests. You won’t be disappointed with your stay in Mystic with this home!
Plenty of beds, location was great, fire pit, parking. Kitchen lacks dishwasher (which made us wonder if the people before us washed dishes as well as we did). And although there were 2 living rooms, we had to move furniture around to accommodate our 8 person group. But we made it work. Enjoyed our trip to Mystic!
I can't say enough good things about this stay! We were very comfortable and had everything we needed for a week, even with babies and kids in our group! The area around the house was safe and very pleasant for meandering walks. We all enjoyed easy access to restaurants and events happening in historic Mystic. Thank you to the owners for their hospitality.
Everything was just perfect during our stay at this property in West Mystic. I had to book at the last minute to attend a funeral and James couldn't have been more accommodating. Very well appointed home with lots of room. We ended up extending our stay and James made that very easy. The area is quiet while being close to downtown Mystic. Rhode Island beaches aren't far. Go to Watch Hill after 4:00 and park for free! Highly recommend.
This home is perfect for a group visiting the area. A beautiful walk to downtown. The house itself is cozy with any amenity you may need. Spacious backyard for playing corn hole, which the owner provided, a fire pit and grill for cooking out. The owner also provided refreshments waiting in the refrigerator upon our arrival. The whole experience was wonderful!
Cousins yearly gathering! This year we chose Mystic. James was quick to respond to my questions and he was very accommodating. The home is charming, clean and the many twin beds was a plus! The round table sold me as it allows for great conversations, game playing, etc. The house is a quick walk (downhill) to downtown….all uphill on the way back! Loved our stay!
The house was perfect for our annual mini college reunion. It was a nice walk to downtown Mystic. After our fabulous dinner at Mix, the uphill walk back to the house was a great way to burn some calories! The house was very clean and had ample room to chill out and catch up with friends. We would have liked to sit outside around the firepit, but it was pouring rain. Next time!
We had three families staying together for a nearby volleyball tournament for the weekend, and decided to stay in Mystic. This home was perfect! The four twin beds on the third floor were perfect for the four teenagers to stay together and have their own space. The three bedrooms on the third floor were all great for the parents, and the two bathrooms worked well for our group. The living space worked great for meals and a game night, and the outdoor gas grill and fire pit were nice for cooking and relaxing. The home was quaint and had some nice updates. We all enjoyed being walking distance from downtown Mystic for shopping and restaurants. Communication with the owner was fast and courteous. We really enjoyed our stay, and would recommend this property to anyone.
The house was exactly as described, had everything we needed, and even exceeded expectations in several ways. The owner was very responsive to inquiries. We had 9 adults in town for a graduation and the sleeping arangements were very accommodating. Downtown Mystic was a .5 mile walk (this did include a rather steep incline). We spent a lot of time in the yard while enjoying the outdoors and the firepit. We walked to town nightly. We highly recommend this location and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
5 of us with a dog. Overall, we had a nice experience. Spacious, nicely painted, comfortable old home, with old style hardwood floors and a nice fenced in yard. Not short, but not too long of a walk into town for most of us. Only the grandmothers with walkers wouldn't do it, but the rest of us walked the dog into town several times. Easier to shop in Groton than drive through Mystic to get to grocery store. We learned you can park at the bank in town for free when it's closed. Host was very responsive to inquiries. Easy check in/out process. We would definitely stay there again.
The filter puts it as having a hot tub. It does not. Then you go to listing and it says spa/whirpool tub, it does not have either.
Property is beautiful, warm, manager is friendly and helpful. Couple items missing though he was responsive upon hearing about the missing items.
Overall great place after we got over the disappointment over no hot tub.

So glad you enjoyed the stay! Apologies about the spa/whirlpool tub. I do not know how that got on the listing and this is the first time I have encountered an issue like this. But you are correct - somehow that box was checked and I have adjusted it. Thank you for letting me know.
Rented this house for a weekend trip with the family. Upon arrival, the home was extremely clean and some beverages were waiting for us in the fridge (this was a first for us and we’ve been renting VRBOs for many years), a wonderful touch! Plenty of space for my family of 5 to relax, eat, and sleep. The solo stove and comfortable Adirondack chairs in the spacious, fenced in yard were perfect for a relaxing fire. Plenty of delicious restaurants to walk to in downtown Mystic. Lots of neighborhood streets with beautiful historical homes, easily accessible to walk the dog. My daughter said, “let’s make this an Easter tradition every year!” I think we just might!! We highly recommend this home for your next trip to Mystic!
This was a great place for two families with 4 children under 10 to visit their grandparents for Thanksgiving. The dining table was able to fit all 10 of us comfortably and we really enjoyed being able to interact with everyone. The attic space was awesome for the children to play independently. Overall the house was clean, well provisioned, and very comfortable. We hope to stay here again for future visits.

About the host

My wife and I met in Mystic and we love it! I purchased this house when I was in the Navy, and rented it out full-time for a number of years while we moved around the country. We were fortunate enough to eventually be able to use it as a weekend house. As our family grew and kids got older we decided to rent it as a vacation rental since we are unable to use it as much as we used to. We hope you enjoy the house as much as we have!
