About this property

A clean, cozy home in Amarillo with a large yard in quiet neighborhood.

The Writer's Nook is a comfortable, slightly chic geek home that's both cozy and conveniently located in Amarillo, with quick access to I-40 and I-27. Great ethnic food choices, including award-winning Tyler's BBQ, are within walking distance. Downtown is 3 mins away, while Palo Duro Canyon is only 20 minutes away.
Plenty of available parking, including a covered garage.

Writer's Nook is a great place for both business and vacation. There's 1 GB WiFi at the home, along with a modern 65" smart TV that already has Hulu, Netflix, HBO Max, YouTube, and Disney+ loaded up on it. There is a great board game collection and a huge eight-person table in the dining room.

For those coffee fanatics, there's a Chemex and Aeropress and a quick jaunt away from some of the best coffee shops in Texas, including Palace Coffee, a local favorite. For those looking for something quicker, a Keurig with K-cups is also onsite.

Yellow City Street Food (incredible local artisan street food), Tyler's BBQ (award-winning and honestly semi-famous), 575 Pizzeria (your host's single favorite spot), and Indian Oven (phenomenal Indian food) are all within less than a minutes drive from the home.

Downtown Amarillo: Less than 3 min drive.
Cadillac Ranch: ~10 min drive.
Palo Duro Canyon: ~24 min drive.
Hospital and Health District: ~6 min drive.

Safe, quiet neighborhood.

The showers both include a new Rain/Gravity showerhead, which is positively amazing if you've never experienced it. Two car garage is free to use, one side manual, the other with a button and motor.

Large, fenced backyard with covered porch.

Truly, whatever your reason for staying, I hope it's wonderful.

Keypad entry for self-check-in/out and a ready to use kitchen including all the amenities you'd expect in your own home.

Andrew is an avid book monger, tabletop gaming aficionado, fitness enthusiast, obsessive coffee drinker, and can most usually be found thinking about food in its various forms but mostly about what his next dessert will be. Why they chose this property

This is a singly managed property. You're not dealing with a property management team, or some business investment group. This is the only home I have, so a lot of love and care goes into its upkeep and the satisfaction of guests.

It's also a pet-friendly home, and that seems to be rarer and rarer in the vacation rental market these days. There's an eclectic collection of tabletop games and a table specifically sized for playing such games.

In the end, Amarillo has a great food scene, one of the most beautiful and largest state parks in the U.S. (Palo Duro Canyon), and a lot more charm and personality than it's given credit for.

Check out Route 66 for a lot of great food, history, and art for starters. I think you're really going to enjoy your stay.

What makes this property unique

Board games, an absolutely huge backyard, free books, and a hammock in one of the bedrooms.
