About this property
Arneiro de Valverde - Nature & Magical Sunset
Summary:
Quiet and cozy house surrounded by nature with a fantastic panoramic view over the vast landscape and the Atlantic Ocean on the horizon.
The Space:
Particularly tastefully furnished house in a very quiet location at the foot of cork oak forests. Fantastic panoramic view over the vast landscape and the Atlantic Ocean on the horizon. Since the house is located in the middle of nature, it is recommended to arrive by car. Thus, you can also reach within 10 minutes the beautiful beaches Praia dos Buizinhos and Praia da Ilha do Pessegueiro. The German-speaking owners live about 50 meters away on the same property. They are always happy to assist guests with any information or advice regarding local attractions or services.
The house has a large living room with fireplace and cozy sitting area, an open kitchen with washing machine and everything you need to store your food and prepare your meals, two bedrooms, one with a double bed and another one with 2 single beds, one bathroom with shower, gallery with sleeping space for 1 child, two large terraces (east + west), and a BBQ area perfect for sharing great moments in family, with friends or by yourself! The property is ideal for both relaxing and exploring, providing the best of both worlds.
Situated in the middle of a nature reserve that stretches along the entire southwestern Portuguese coast, the small fishing town of Porto Covo belongs to the municipality of Sines in the Alentejo Litoral. And the Alentejo landscape proves there is still such a thing as harmony between nature and man. Between the shimmering colors of spring and the ochre tones of autumn, the brilliant white houses stand out, their doors and windows framed in blue or yellow. In the immense expanse rise centuries-old villages, hidden behind their ramparts, waiting to be explored by you. The peaceful environment makes it a perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature.
Porto Covo, with its old village center, the small harbor and the numerous small beaches, is especially popular with bathers during the main holiday season. With the Ilha do Pessegueiro in the south and the waves between the mainland and the island, Porto Covo also has a lot to offer water sports enthusiasts. Visitors can try surfing, kayaking, or even windsurfing in the pristine waters.
In addition to the few places that are directly on the sea and have a beach with a promenade, beach cafes, lifeguards and umbrellas, there are miles and miles of sandy beaches that give the impression that no man has ever been there. From the highway, the IC 4, that goes from Sines to Lagos, small gravel paths go off towards the sea. If you follow these paths, you will reach lonely sandy bays without a soul, even in high summer. It's a true escape from the hustle and bustle, offering a chance to enjoy untouched nature.
