Sehr schönes Haus in der Wachau

Perfect for a relaxing "get-away"

From the beginning communication with the owner was excellent. The property is as described, spotlessly clean and well equipped. We were delighted to receive a pot of homemade apricot jam as a welcoming gift. The Wachau Valley is breathtakingly beautiful and we enjoyed visiting many of the recommended tourist sites and then returning to the peace and quiet. It was a wonderful and restorative. We would have no hesitation in renting this property again.

Very Nice!

My wife and I stayed at this property for five days, and it worked very well for us. The two bedrooms and a full bath (including washing machine) are located upstairs. Downstairs is a toilet, living room, kitchen and eating area. We were very comfortable living here, and it's very quiet at night so we slept well too. The kitchen is fully equipped for self caterers, and the house is very neat and clean. You need a car to access this property, which is about 7km up the B217 from Spitz, and Google maps still hasn't figured out where this house is located because it's in a very small village. The owner provides an excellent written description of the exact location so we had no issues checking in. We used the house as a base for hiking on both sides of the Danube, and there are a lot of walking/biking options available. We used the Traveler's Info office in Krems for free hiking maps of the area - very helpful. We never figured out the TV/set-top cable operation, and didn't find any instructions, but that didn't really matter as the Internet connectivity was fast and reliable so we could use our various devices to access information and music streaming. In sum, we really enjoyed our stay at this property and would love to return.

Uitstekend

Het huis ligt in een prachtige omgeving en heeft veel privacy. We hebben nog nooit een huis gehuurd dat zo compleet ingericht is. De eigenaar verzorgt het huis met grote precisie . De omgeving leent zich ervoor om leuke uitstapjes te maken. Kortom een aanrader voor als je rust en ruimte zoekt .

Lovely quiet getaway

A very pleasant holiday home - perfect for a couple or small family - in a hamlet up in the hills about 10-15 minutes drive from the Danube. Very friendly folk as neighbours (though sadly our German was minimal); plenty of nice villages to visit along the river. Good for walking, perfect for cycling. We had a great week.

Rundum zufrieden

Wir hatten eine herrliche Woche hier. Es ist extrem sauber und die Küche hat wirklich alles was man so braucht. Ganz toll. Es ist ganz lieb eingerichtet. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Empfehlenswerte Ferienwohnung - sehr sauber und ordentlich

Wir fanden ein sehr schönes und gepflegtes Urlaubsdomizil vor. Das "Gartenhaus" liegt sehr ruhig. Alles, was man so für die Selbstverpflegung benötigt, war vorhanden. Von dort sind viele Sehenswürdigkeiten in Niederösterreich gut zu erreichen und auch ein Abstecher nach Wien ist möglich (am besten das Auto in der P&R Garage in Hütteldorf abstellen und mit der U4 in die Stadt fahren). Zudem erhielten wir von der Vermieterin sehr gute Tipps für Ausflüge und gute Restaurants in der näheren Umgebung. Und natürlich der Wachauer Wein! Er ist selbst eine Reise wert. Also einfach buchen und die Zeit genießen.

Ferienhaus mit viel Ruhe in abgeschiedener Lage.

Das Ferienhaus bietet für 4 Personen reichlich Platz. Die Ausstattung ist ok. Die Terrasse könnte etwas gemütlicher gestaltet sein. Die Lage ist etwas abseits von den Wachauer-Touristenorten hoch im Spitzer Graben gelegen. Wer Ruhe sucht, ist hier gut aufgehoben.

Erwartungen übertroffen

Zur Anfahrt: Zunächst zu sehr aufs Navi vertraut und die Straße nach Kottes übersehen. Also: Von Mühldorf kommend kurz nach dem Ortsschild Ötzbach rechts abbiegen. Dort befindet sich dann, in Höhe der Buskehre, links die Zufahrt zum Haus. Wir wurden überaus herzlich begrüßt. Und da es an diesem Tag etwas kühl war, brannte sogar das Feuer im Kaminofen. Angenehme Wärme im ganzen Wohnbereich, der nicht nur zweckmäßig, sondern auch gemütlich eingerichtet ist. Die Wohnzimmermöbel moderner als auf den Fotos zu sehen. Aber die alten hätten uns auch gefallen! SAT-TV mit den meisten frei empfangbaren deutschen TV-Programmen und W-LAN vorhanden. Die Küche ist vollständig eingerichtet, bietet sogar Geschirrspüler und einen kleinen Gefrierschrank. Schlafzimmer im Obergeschoss. Matratzenqualität ausgezeichnet, besonders bemerkenswert aber die absolute Ruhe. Selbst der Hahn in der Nachbarschaft schien Rücksicht zu nehmen und krähte erst lange nach Sonnenaufgang. Supermärkte und Gaststätten gibt es in Mühldorf oder Spitz. Wir haben unsere Ferientage für Wanderungen genutzt. Von Ötzbach bietet sich der Weg nach Mühldorf über den Kalvarienberg und dem Park der Burg Oberranna an. Die Burg selbst war leider geschlossen. Nicht versäumen: die Ruine Hinterhaus in Spitz. Ein leichter Anstieg führt am Schifffahrtsmuseum vorbei. Sehr schön ist der Wanderweg vom Schloss (großer Parkplatz) durch die Weinberge Richtung Rotes Tor. Von dort führt ein gut begehbarer Rundweg zurück in den Ort. Hingegen ist das alternative Teilstück des Welterbesteigs nach St. Michaels ziemlich anstrengend, gute Wanderschuhe sind ein Muss. Im nahen Dürnstein markiert der blaue Turm des Kirche des früheren Stifts ein weiteres reizvolles Ziel. Prächtig ausgestattet! Und die Terrasse des Stifts macht tolle Donau-Fotos möglich. Zurück zum Gartenhaus Ingrid. Für uns war es ein idealer Ausgangspunkt, um die Wachau zu erleben. Wir haben den Aufenthalt genossen und uns erholt!
