Looking for the perfect getaway. You just found it at The Getaway. It’s the perfect Columbia, SC vacation spot on Lake Murray. Relaxing Columbia Lake House w/ Private Dock, Outdoor Kitchen, WiFi & Fire Pits. Sit on the dock and watch the sunset. Drink your morning coffee in the gazebo overlooking the water. Roast marshmallow and make s’mores at the fire pit. Cook your favorite meal on the grill at the outdoor kitchen. Bring a float and play in the water. The choice is yours. It can all happen at The Getaway. Beautiful Lake House with Deluxe Upgrades. Outdoor kitchen with 2 grills. Outdoor fireplace with fire pit.

Guests are welcome to bring their boat and dock it at our private dock. You won't be able to launch it from our property but you can launch it from the dam which is a 5 minute drive from the lake house. We do have plenty of room to store your boat trailer once your boat is launched from the dam.

The boat lift can be used for a pontoon boat. We no longer have the jet ski landing pad shown in the video.

Best lake getaway

Gorgeous Views

Very nice, quiet getaway with a huge bonus of the view of Lake Murray right out of the back. Tons of outdoor space gives you countless options and angles at which you can enjoy the sunset and I assume sunrise though since it was a weekend getaway I may have slept through that portion :-)

Great Stay!

I would highly recommend staying at this property! It was the perfect house for our family of 5. Debra went above and beyond and the house was immaculately clean! The outside area was wonderful and my kids enjoyed fishing off the dock. We were also able to rent a boat and loved the convenience of docking it at the house. Can’t wait to visit again!

Perfect family vacation home

We spent our Christmas here .. the hosts did a such a sweet job of decorating for the holiday that we felt just like we were home ourselves. We gathered with my local family and the location was perfect for meeting with everyone .. smores by the campfire was a fun activity for all of us. Lots of space to spread out yet cozy to spend time together. Sitting on the deck watching the sunset was my favorite part of the day there. We definitely plan to come back in warmer weather to enjoy more of the outdoor grill options. A truly special holiday for us, thank you Debra!

Wonderful house and location

A definite 10/10! The house is amazing and the outdoor spaces are perfect for enjoying Lake Murray. Debra is a gracious and responsive host and her attention to detail is much appreciated. The house is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed to cook and enjoy family meals. The multiple outdoor spaces are perfect for cooking, dining, relaxing and family game night. I highly recommend The Getaway and we hope to visit again.

Beautiful home with Breathtaking Views

My family had a wonderful Thanksgiving at this beautiful home. Debra is an amazing and responsive host. The kitchen had everything we need to prepare our Thanksgiving meal. The house was clean and cozy. We thoroughly enjoyed all the different outdoor areas to relax and admire the beautiful views of Lake Murray—fire pits, outdoor kitchen, gazebo. This house has it all!

Clean & well maintained home with many amenities

We loved our stay at this Lake Murray home. It was just the right size for our small family, but felt much bigger with the many outdoor spaces. From the outdoor kitchen to the covered dock, there was always a place to share a meal or sit alone with a book. The outside was very pleasant (even in the South Carolina heat) as there was always a nice breeze in the cove. The home was very well appointed and had everything you could possibly need - including an industrial ice maker! Great communication from hosts and a wonderful overall experience.

Lovely and Relaxing Stay

We were so delighted with our stay! The house is lovely and impeccably clean. The backyard has beautiful views day and night and has many different areas to hang out. We loved relaxing on the covered dock area with glider club chairs that are really comfortable, and the fans kept away the bugs. We enjoyed sitting on the dock with coffee and listening to the birds in the morning and then watching the gorgeous sunsets all evening. We made a fire with the wood that Debra left for us in the firepit area. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking and grilling, which we did one evening in the outdoor kitchen area. The bedrooms were comfy and clean. Debra was easily reached for any questions we had. Recommend!

Excellence at Lake Murray

We LOVED this house! It is fantastic! Just as cute as the pictures and very well appointed. Feels like a resort with palm trees and great lighting in the landscaping. Everything is high quality from towels, to kitchen dishes, etc. It has everything you need. We loved the outdoor kitchen. The location is great as it is close to several marinas and restaurants on the water. Columbia is also close to explore. Our host, Debra, was also fantastic. She was very responsive to every question we had and made sure we had good answers, and we had a lot of questions due to bringing our boat! As soon as we booked she called to make sure we were all set and provided additional information which helped a lot with planning our trip. Our conversation gave me a good feeling that our trip would be awesome and it was! The house is small so would recommend no more than the 6 that is suggested. Two couples or a family would be perfect. Would definitely stay here again! Totally recommend this house.

The dock and lake view are excellent. "Its all out back". Most of the lake Murray rentals don't have a multiple mile open water view off the dock. And they don't look west.
