About this property

Welcome to Captain's Quarters, a light, warm & inviting 2 bedroom, one bath apartment on the lower level of my home. I live on the second floor with elderly mother. This is where I love to host my family, friends & you. I strive for & get 5 star ratings. I also rent a studio apartment upstairs with a private entrance & bath in case you need more room: VRBO # 2179416.

My first experience with VRBO was in 2007. I rented our home in Bozeman for several years. I started back with VRBO at Canyon Ferry in 2020. The best part of the experience was all the wonderful guest that have stayed with me. I have met people from Turner, Mt. (population 61) to Mule Shoe, Texas to Pakistan. I have notice over the years (I used my home in Bozeman as a VRBO before I moved here) one of the 1st thing people notice is the cleanliness. My units are exceptionally clean. They are well equipped, well organized and very livable. The views are spectacular. The yard is a mess...too many deer bed down in the winter. If you want your privacy, you are able to have it. Or you are welcome to join me on my deck for morning coffee (pjs acceptable) or afternoon libations.

The comfy beds are custom made in Montana. The back bedroom can be made up as 2 oversized twins or a king depending on your needs. The kitchen is very well equipped. I provide dishwasher tablets, dishwashing soap, baggies, flour, sugar, rice, salt &. pepper, paper towels; coffee, tea & more. In the large spa-like bathroom has double sinks, a large walk-in shower with double heads, hand washing gel, shampoo & conditioner, shower gel, fluffy towels, hair dryer, & lots of toiletries. There is a stackable washer/dryer with laundry tables, bleach & drier sheets. On the outdoor patio there is a grill & side table, a table & chairs.

Canyon Ferry is located on the Missouri River between the Big & Little Belt Mountains, part of the Rocky Mountains that run from Mexico to Canada. Our area offers a multitude of year-round outdoor activities, Or you can head to town & explore all historic Helena has to offer.

A little trip to the lake

Beautiful property! We had everything we needed in the kitchen and bathroom. Soft, thick towels and bedding. All you can do is stare at the lake. And we caught a couple of trout! Definitely will be back!

Sparkling clean with amazing views!

It is a beautiful new space that is sparkling clean. She has everything you would ever need in there and more. She is available if needed, but also gives you space if you prefer. We will definitely stay here again when visiting family at the lake.

Beautiful cozy apartment

The view and location are amazing. We loved watching the chipmunks, hummingbirds, and deer pass by and the marina was right across the street where we launched our boat. The host was kind and very accommodating to all of our needs! The apartment was beautiful, had everything we needed, and comfortably fit our family of 5.

I am a retired Bozeman business women who loves living on the lake. Growing up I spent my summers surround by generations of family on Lake Okoboji, Iowa. Fast forward (time goes by so fast) I am back to my water roots with the added benefit of mountains. To me it is the perfect combination. I am a people person. I enjoy sitting on my deck & visiting if you would like to join me. If not you have all the privacy you require. I know you will enjoy my little slice of paradise.

Why they chose this property

The neighborhood kind of choose me. I have been coming to Canyon Ferry since 1992. In 1998 I moved my father & his 30' sailboat "up river" from Yankton, SD. After 7 summer of living aboard & traveling in the winters, he found a 1963 untitled mobile home at the north end of the lake to rent. In May of 2016 the owners of the property decided to sell. They gave me first option. I jumped on the opportunity. In October of 2018 I scrapped the property & started building. January 16, 2019, my contractor, his helper & I were on the subfloor of the second story. The lake had frozen 2 days before. We watched a group of ice skaters. Check out " CANYON FERRY ICE SKATERS" on YouTube. The ice was about 2". Way too thin. I know most of the skaters. They were well equipped. One did fall in after the video was taken. In November I moved in. My room was done. My microwave was on the dresser. I had a camp potty in the bathroom. In January of 2020 I moved Mom in. I have been delighted with the house & grateful to live in such a beautiful place.

What makes this property unique

I am a live in owner. I having done some traveling, I know what I like in a vacation rental. I had a property in Bozeman for 7 years, and am going on my third year here. I strive hard to earn my 5 star reviews. I think it is important you come to a clean, inviting, well equipped property to enjoy your holiday. Your comfort is very important to me. I have high end beds and linens. I provide plenty of laundry products, shampoo, dish soap & dishwasher tablets, coffee, etc. Our well is excellent, so no need for bottled water. The kitchen is well appointed & stock with many basics. I leave non-perishables. If you need something just holler. I am involved in every cleaning to insure the unit meets my standards & exceeds yours. After a day of exploring you can come "home" & relax this beautiful apartment & the stunning views.
