Summary:
We've lovingly restored the 80-year-old Historic Adobe Abode to provide you with an exceptional stay while visiting Kanab and southern Utah! This cozy vintage home is located in the heart of downtown Kanab, within walking distance to restaurants, shops, coffee bars, the Kane County Visitor Center (for Wave permits), and more. Even better, this home is pet friendly, so you can bring your dogs to walk with you!
The Space:
With so many special touches, this historic home will stay on your mind long after your visit! For cold winter nights, there's a wood burning fireplace in the living room. You'll find hand-crafted items throughout the home. There's a full kitchen so that you can prepare your favorite cuisine, equipped with a blender, baking dish, cookie sheet, pots, pans and a hand mixer. Then take a seat at the unique bread maker's table to dine. You'll note the exposed adobe bricks that were originally made on site.
There are two bedrooms with king beds, as well as a completely renovated bathroom upstairs. Downstairs, the cellar basement has been converted to another living/game room with a TV. There is also a washer & dryer downstairs.
Outside, you'll be able to sit under the stars by the firepit, enjoy the BBQ, or even collect pecans (in season) from our tree while you relax and unwind.
With a direct fiber optic connection to our local ISP, you will enjoy blazing download speeds for work, play and entertainment.
As mentioned, this property is a pet friendly property and does require a $50 pet fee if you plan on bringing your furry friends. Pet Policy: Pets are NOT allowed to be unattended in the home at any time, please understand and respect our policy.
Guest Access:
Our guests will have full access to the home, front and back yards, laundry room, etc.
The Neighborhood:
Just one block from the center of downtown Kanab, you'll be within walking distance of great shops, restaurants and more!
There's plenty to do with state and national parks nearby, but if you're looking for something more low-key for a day or two, consider the local hikes featured on the flyers in our house book: Squaw, Bunting and K-hill, all offering wonderful views. As well, Jacob Hamblin park has a playground, field, pool with slides, splash pad, and tennis/pickleball courts; Kanab City Library is nearby and often has books for sale; Ranchos Park has great baseball fields; Best Friends Animal Sanctuary has great guided tours (they welcome donations). Also consider the local restaurants, bakeries, and ice cream shops. We love some of the local tour companies; they can make your travel time far more productive and enjoyable. Many of them even offer early morning pick-ups from Kanab.
Equestrian and biking trails are also available.
Getting Around:
You can walk to all of Kanab's restaurants and shops directly from our home but you will need a vehicle to explore the parks and other attractions. This home has convenient access to Hwy 89A/89 which takes you to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, Zion and Bryce National Parks, Lake Powell, as well as the north rim of the Grand Canyon. Just minutes away from downtown Kanab, this home makes accessing local restaurants, shops, and grocery stores convenient and easy!
Here in southern Utah a vehicle is required to get around in town and beyond. We recommend a 4WD vehicle with high clearance if you intend to go off-road to out of the way places.
Page, AZ airport is 1 hour away; St. George, UT airport is 1.5 hours away; Las Vegas airport is 3 hours away.
Other Things to Note:
Again, this property is a pet friendly property and does require a $50 pet fee if you plan on bringing your furry friends. Pet Policy: Pets are NOT allowed to be unattended in the home at any time, please understand and respect our policy.
