About this property
Elegant Designer's Retreat in the Heart of Uptown on Magazine Street!
Bienvenue à Petit Biscuit!
My glamorous, decked out 1898 Shotgun Double has been lovingly and painstakingly renovated while keeping many original, turn-of-the-century features including brick fireplaces and 12' ceilings. You'll be in the heart of Magazine Street, steps from the city's best bars, restaurants, antique stores and art galleries. Petit Biscuit provides all you need to feel cozy and pampered on your romantic New Orleans getaway.

Prepare to fall in LOVE!
I designed Petite Biscuit as the ultimate getaway combining locally sourced new and vintage treasures to gracefully adorn this stunning 120 year old home.
Through the wrought iron gate and past the quintessential New Orleans front porch, you enter Petit Biscuit with a sweeping view of the 12' ceiling, open-concept interior. No corners have been cut when thoughtfully designing this space! You will find all new, colorful and comfortable furnishings mixed with exquisite New Orleans antiques and the eclectic work of local contemporary artists.
You will walk through the living room adorned with a luxe velvet sofa and a Smart TV on an antique deco mahogany credenza. Beyond that, you’re in the formal dining room, which seats 6 across from an original brick fireplace and mantle adorned with an exquisite cut-glass deco mirror.
As always, the kitchen is the heart of the home, and this one was designed with love! It's fully equipped with all new gear including a professional Bertazzoni gas range, All-Clad cookware, oils, vinegars and the essential spices including plenty of New Orleans creole seasonings - everything you need to chef it up...
Coffee lovers, I got you! You have your choice of Italian moka pot espresso, a Chemex pour-over set up or a BonaVida coffee maker. And, you'll be stocked with a scale, burr grinder and milk steamer. There's also a NutriBullet for smoothie and matcha lovers...
Beyond the kitchen, you duck into an intentionally cozy hallway, pass the hall bath (a galley-style Wet Room inspired by a small Paris apartment!) and into the bedroom.
Designed as a sanctuary to self care and relaxation... The bedroom is outfitted with a deluxe, super-comfortable king size bed with the coziest organic cotton bedding and delicious pillows, inspiring a good night's sleep and sweet dreams.
The pièce de résistance is the claw foot soaking tub at the foot of the bed - inviting you to relax in a warm bath any time of the day or night. And, the en suite bathroom is equipped with a luxurious shower built for two.
There is a Bosch stackable washer/dryer in the closet, AC + Heat are easily controlled by a Nest thermostat and we have a home security alarm.
PLEASE NOTE: There is no off-street parking; however, finding a free parking spot on Magazine or one of our cross streets has never been an issue.
Petit Biscuit is nestled in the Touro Bouligny, a charming, hip niche of Uptown New Orleans. The best boutiques, art galleries, restaurants and bars in the city are right out the front door on Magazine Street or within walking distance: Lilette, La Petite Grocery, Shaya, Saffron NOLA, Bouligny Tavern and Tipitinas!
You can do walking tours of Magazine Street and the Garden District, and take the St. Charles Streetcar to the French Quarter or Audubon Park! This central location also means quick and easy Uber/Lyft travel to all parts of the city. And the parade routes during Mardi Gras allow you to choose your spot on either Napoleon or St. Charles Avenues.

Hi! I'm Jo Ann, a New Orleans native living in Los Angeles for the past 30 years. I'm so lucky to be bi-coastal: Gulf Coast / West Coast. I love spending time with my family and friends and cooking all of my favorite New Orleans food for them. I love tennis and mahjongg and my perfect day includes all of the above! xo
Why they chose this property
