Large house in rural location

We transferred to this house after being let down by another. The owner communicated well (in French) with us as we made the transfer. Throughout the visit the owners communicated with us to ensure pool maintenance etc was not intrusive. A required repair was dealt with speedily and efficiently. The house is large with large grounds in a rural setting. The pool was heated to 26 degrees and maintained by the owner. It was the focus of our visit with the children and grandchildren. The gardens were extensive and sufficient outside furniture was available. One or two more sun beds might help but there is plenty of seating. A few children's play equipment pieces would also be a useful addition but the lack of them did not distract from our visit. The house itself is basic and well appointed. Once again, as a suggestion, a washing machine would be a useful addition for larger groups staying more than a week. However, the host did offer to do washing. It's a house you feel you can live in without worrying you'll spoil or damage it. There are plenty of beds for a large group and 6 bedrooms. In short, we spent a happy 8 days here using the pool and doing some local sightseeing. The local village has a well stocked supermarket, a butchers, bakery, and cafe. There are river walks, old buildings and local chateaux to visit. In terms of value for money, the more who stay the better the value. We were 7 adults and 3 children and we had plenty of room. Well worth a visit.
