The house was so well stocked and very child friendly. So many personal touches that made us feel at home and comfortable. Would definitely stay again!
Amazing house! Gorgeous antiques and very clean! We arrived just after a bad winter storm so we had some associated issues but all went well. Great communication with the owners and we were very thankful to have their cell numbers if needed. We loved the house! It was perfect for our large family gathering!
This was an exceptional property! Spotless and as described on the VRBO website! Spacious with plenty of room for a large family, and many nooks to read or relax in. Hosts were extremely responsive and could not have been nicer! It is more than a 5 Star stay! Thank you for everything!!
This property was perfect for two families with kids. There are different "wings" of the house for privacy/quiet for each family. The games in the family room were a hit with the kids. Kitchen was extremely well-stocked. The hosts were pro-active and incredibly responsive.
Everything about this house was wonderful. Clearly an old, well loved house with lots of thoughtful touches and something for everyone. Toys for the kids! Magazines for the adults! A working fireplace for achy grandpa bones! The kitchen is very complete and has everything you need to make a meal. The bedding is super comfortable and the quilts are soft and cloud like. Couldn’t recommend more highly!
Really enjoyed our stay.
Very clean well stocked and organized.
It was a cold VT weekend but we were nice and snugly warm, loved the fireplace insert and all the seating for hanging out reading and playing games all together, it was my husband myself and five high school/college aged kids. It was not far from Mt Snow for skiing. Would love to come back in the future. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.
Liz and Marah are great host! Very easy to communicate with them as we had lot questions for them! We had a large group of friends/family rent out the space for a long weekend! The place is very organized and well stocked to accommodate our large group. I highly recommend this place!! Thank you so much again🙏
We all had an awesome time. The house was beautiful with enough room to be private too. My grandchildren enjoyed playing hide-seek. My 2 1/2 granddaughter absolutely loved rolling down the hill in back yard. Thumbs up for another wonderful family vacation
Big thumbs up for Marah and Liz, awesome people
This was by far our best vacation rental ever. The home was immaculate and very roomy for our family of 12. The kitchen is fully supplied with dishes cups etc. Bedrooms were a good size with very comfortable beds and good linens. Our family enjoyed skying trips to Mt Snow and ejoyed other outdoor activities. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful as well!! Thank you Marah!!
We hosted a weekend retreat at this beautiful Vermont property, and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the place felt calm, private, and alive with character. There were spacious common areas that invited conversation and laughter, and quiet nooks where each of us could slip away for solitude and reflection. Every bedroom was cozy, and comfortable. The land itself seems to hold a peaceful energy...the kind that slows you down the moment you step outside. Our hosts, Marah and Liz, were exceptional: warm, responsive, and generous with local suggestions that helped us make the most of our stay.It was exactly the kind of space we needed....grounded, restorative, and full of heart. We’ll absolutely be back. It just might be very soon!
This was our 2nd year at this cozy, comfortable, spacious and private home. Our family was able to spread out, be together and also private. Under 1/2 hr drive to Mt Snow. Close enough to food shopping. We were able to bring our dogs, and the property was large. Thanks again for the use of your home. We made wonderful memories. We had 4 generations on this trip. From an 81yr old grandma, to a 1 yr old great-granddaughter. Would definitely return.
We enjoyed staying here to explore Vermont and other nearby locations. Plenty of room for our group of 8 to spread out after a day together. Lots of winding and hilly roads to get most places, so may not be the best location if you are prone to carsickness. Best surprise was a telescope that we used to find wind turbines and the sky full of stars.
I can’t say enough good things about this rental. Lots of space, comfortable beds, clean, well equipped kitchen, beautiful back deck and gorgeous property. Check-in was super easy and communication with the hosts was easy. They always replied immediately. I highly recommend the rental and we will be booking here again next year.
Great place for our parents 60th wedding anniversary
Wonderful setting for the three generations of our family to celebrate our parents 60th wedding anniversary! Very comfortable home with lots amenities for all to enjoy. We were looking for a quiet place to just catch up with each other and enjoy cooking and playing games together. This was just perfect!
The house is well furnished, the kitchen is fully stocked with dish ware and cookware, and the beds are comfortable with many pillow options to choose from. The owners are commutative and organized. I recommend this property to any group needing several bedrooms.
We had a group of 10 and had so much room for all of us! The house was huge and gave us the private space we needed but also had plenty of common areas to relax and hang out as a group in. The house is older so be wary of dust allergies but otherwise it was clean. It was close to Mount Snow and in a secluded area. Hosts were easy to communicate with and check in was seamless!
Beautiful place! Very nice hosts! Will definitely come again!
We had very nice 3 days in the house. It is gorgeous and has everything you need for your family.
Marah and Elizabeth are great, responsive and very nice people.
Highly recommended!
This was a beautiful old house, very clean and fit us all comfortably. The owners were extremely welcoming and easy to communicate with. I would definitely stay here again.

About the host
Hosted by Marah Rhoades and Elizabeth Enschede
We are two sisters, Marah and Liz, with childhood roots in Vermont and have returned with our four children and husbands to create this gorgeous family home where we look forward to welcoming other families who want to enjoy the beauty of southern Vermont. We both live in Brooklyn, NY within walking distance of each other. Liz is a family practice physician in Brooklyn married to an architect. Marah is a government official married to an entertainment attorney. We each have two children and "share" one large, fluffy, happy dog.
Why they chose this property
For years we have enjoyed summers in Vermont with our father at his small house in northern Vermont. Our kids have spent summers exploring the woods behind their grandfather's house. For many years we have wanted to create a family home where we can all gather comfortably, where our kids who are being raised in NYC can explore and enjoy the outdoors the way we did when we were children. We needed something closer to NYC with plenty of space to spread out and bring friends. After years of looking for the perfect space in the perfect location, we found Stonehedge Farm. We fell in love with this amazing property the moment we walked through the door. The sprawling floor plan has plenty of space and lots of room for large families or groups of friends to both spread out and to come together. The multiple common areas offer quiet space, play space and group space. The kids can be loud in the family room, some adults can be playing music or watching a game in the main living room in front of the fire, while others can be quietly reading in the back sitting room. The house feels secluded and cozy, but is on a paved road so it's never hard to access no matter what the weather. The rooms are cozy and bright, and there are beautiful views from every room. We both wake up each day in this house in disbelief that we found the property of our dreams.
What makes this property unique
This property is easily accessible to both Boston and New York City in under 4 hours. The activities in this area are year round with lakes, mountains for hiking and skiing, snow boarding, hunting, and lovely restaurants and shops in Wilmington. And while you feel secluded on the farm, you are close to everything you could want in town, up at the ski mountain as well as just footsteps up the road to hikes and walks. You can leave the house and take a stunning 7 mi run, or traipse through the woods or just sit out in back and play volleyball and lounge around watching the sun set over the green hills of Vermont. The clean fun is endless.
