Perfect place to stay, wonderful 2 bedroom cabin with a warm fire. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals in, or good restaurants near by in Chestertown. Close to Gore Mountain and Loon Lake. The hosts were very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Highly recommend!
The property owners, Wendy and Anthony, were as accommodating and gracious as can be! We arrived early, due to less traffic, and we were welcomed immediately. They allowed us to check in. The cabin was exactly as stated and shown on line. Clean and with all the amenities you would need. We were pleasantly surprised to see they provide clean fresh towels in the bathroom. They made a huge bonfire both evenings we were there. The property was perfect for star gazing and the fire was in close enough proximity to all the cabins to return safely and easily in the dark. There was plenty of parking. The property is easy to navigate. Overall we were very pleased with our stay. Thanks to Wendy and Anthony for a memorable eclipse stay!
Wendy and Anthony are most welcoming hosts at Twin Pine Lodge. We enjoyed our stay in the rustic "Log Haven", one of a half dozen cabins on the property, fitted out with a fully working kitchen, bathroom, two queen sized bedrooms, and comfy living room w netflix on the TV and AC for hot summer nights. Our kids loved swimming and canoeing at nearby Loon Lake and, if you like running, it's a scenic 7 mile loop around the lake - with an extra half mile side-trail up Stewart's Trailhead for views over the lake and surrounds. We took advantage of the swimming pool, games room, basketball court and playground, and loved ending each day by roasting s'mores over the bonfire.
We had a amazing time on are family vacation one that was over do. The cottage was perfect size for are family. Perfect location. Very friendly owner's.
My husband, son, and I enjoyed two nights at Log Haven. Super cozy and comfortable. Sitting by the fireplace after a day of skiing at Gore Mountain was perfect! And only 20 minutes away from Gore. Thank you Anthony and Wendy for being great hosts.
We had a really pleasant experience. Owners Wendy and Anthony were very accommodating, friendly, attentive, made us feel very welcome. Attention is beautiful, peaceful and quiet yet close to everything around. Cabin was nice and clean and comfortable. Fantastic getaway all in all, good memories.
The cabin was clean, toasty warm once the heaters warmed up. The kitchen was adequately stocked with pots, pans, dishes, dish soap. Microwave worked fine as well as the stove top, however the oven seamed to take longer than I wanted to wait to reach temperature, so I switched to using the stove top to cook our salmon steaks. We did not see any dish towels to dry the dishes but a drip dry rack was under the sink. All in all it was a lovely stay and was close to the ski resort.
The place is so cozy and Wendy and her husband are so flexible and very accommodating to our needs. She also directed us to different places to go. We so loved the place and promised we to be back there soon! Loved the bonfire and the camaraderie!
The property has a summer camp feel, with several single-family cabins and amenities like a small pool, ping-pong table and fire circle available to everyone. A small but pretty lake beach is just across the street. Kayaks and canoes can be launched there as well. Log Haven kitchen is equipped with basic dishes and utensils, though not much for baking. I found the oven difficult to use and the wifi was spotty, but everything else was fine. There was plenty of hot water in the shower. The hosts were very friendly and responsive to requests. Other than the lake beach, there isn't much to walk to from the camp. However, the location is good as a base for car trips to Burlington, VT, Lake Placid, Lake George Village and other small towns in the area. The scenery is great. If you're a hiker, get a good guidebook and look for trailheads that are usually well-marked and have roadside parking spaces.
When we first arrived Anthony and Wendy were so friendly and accommodating. They gave us the key to the cabin and we couldn’t of been anymore pleased. The pool was always clean and the lake as well being a short walk down the driveway. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Quiet cabin in woods. Wifi was not optimal but we did not come here for wifi. Cabin well cared for and nicely laid out. Pool clean and refreshing. Hosts were very friendly and thoughtful
Cute cabin close to Gore. Newly renovated bathroom and kitchen area. Dog friendly! Furniture could use an upgrade. Overall it worked great for the 3 days we skied Gore
