About this property
Family Adventure at Lake Wissota Lodge + Studio
This lovely waterfront retreat on the Chippewa River offers plenty of space for the whole family, featuring a main home plus a fully furnished private studio (converted from the attached garage) complete with its own full kitchen and beautiful river views.
Tucked away on a quiet dead-end road, you’ll enjoy peaceful surroundings with direct access to Lake Wissota. Spend your days boating to popular lakeside eateries and sandbar beaches along 60 miles of shoreline, then tie up at your private dock to unwind. Fish off the dock, relax on the patio, or gather around the fire in the evening.
Located just three blocks from bike and snowmobile trails, this property offers endless options for adventure and relaxation in every season.
Main House:
The main home features three bedrooms on the lower-level walkout. Two spacious bedrooms offer king beds, while the third includes a bunk bed with a queen on the bottom and twin on top — perfect for families. The lower-level family room includes a fireplace, two sleeper sofas, and a patio door that provides easy access to the water and outdoor fire pit.
Upstairs, you’ll find a large living room with an additional sleeper sofa, along with a full kitchen featuring new appliances and a generous island ideal for cooking and gathering. A cozy drink bar with seating overlooks the Chippewa River — perfect for morning coffee or evening cocktails. On rainy days, enjoy three big-screen TVs, two wood-burning fireplaces, and inviting spaces designed for relaxing together.
Studio:
Attached to the home is a private, fully furnished studio apartment offering a queen bed, sleeper sofa, full kitchen, bathroom, and large-screen TV. It’s the perfect setup for extended family or guests who would like their own quiet retreat while still being close to the action.
Whether you’re planning a weekend escape, a weeklong family vacation, or an extended remote-work stay, this property offers something for everyone. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Stay active on the water and trails or unwind with a drink by the fire — the choice is yours.
Note, this body of water is part of the historic Chippewa River, downstream of the Xcel Energy Jim Falls Dam, water levels fluctuate. Currents and water levels are unpredictable - use at your own risk.
Things to do:
Wissota State Park: Whether you want to go for a hike or relax on the sandy beach, Wissota State Park should be on your vacation to-do list. Only a 10 minute drive and it offers a large, family-friendly sandy swimming and picnic area, located on historic Lake Wissota, and is set in a beautiful northern wooded area for walking and hiking. Plenty to do for the whole family.
Old Abe Trail: If biking is your thing to do, you are only 3 blocks away (less than a 2 minute bike ride) from the Old Abe Trail. This trail offers 28 miles of beautiful (bike or snowmobile trail) riding along the river and landscapes of the Chippewa Valley. Old Abe Trail links up to over 70 miles of trails throughout the Chippewa Valley. You can spend your whole vacation on your bikes or snowmobiles and visit many of the quaint eateries and historic sites in the area.
Leinie Lodge: Located less than 20 minutes away is the historic Leinie Lodge. Leinenkugel brewery was founded in 1867 and has been a huge part of history for Chippewa Falls. Go enjoy a refreshing beer out on their patio or take a tour and learn about the history of Leinenkugel. Also, make sure to check out their website for any events they have going on throughout the year.

About the host
Hosted by Julie and Wayne
Hello, we are Julie and Wayne and have lived in this area our whole lives. We also live on Lake Wissota and believe this to be the BEST area to live and play. There is so much recreation right out our back door. We love the Chippewa Valley. We are excited to share this beautiful area with our guests.
Why they chose this property
We just love the solitude of this property. The quiet neighbors are super nice. This place has it all. Keep your boat at the dock and ready for when the fish are biting, and/or bring your bikes to explore the miles and miles of trails dedicated to your hiking/biking/snowmobiling fun through Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire. Located in the quaint town of Jim Falls, WI only 18 minutes from Leinies Lodge in Chippewa Falls.
