Casa de los Cuates, Luxury house in the center of Merida
Casa de los Cuates is a beautiful and antique house in the center of Merida that was recently renovated with a Mexican Hindu design. Each space is created with love and detail, to make our guests fell comfortable and in harmony. It is a little respite in the middle of the beautiful city.
The house has three bedrooms, two of them share a bathroom; the main one has its own bathroom and it has a very nice view of the internal patio. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a washer and a dryer. The terrace of the house is beautiful, since it has a dining and a living room with a very pleasant view of the pool and the garden. Casa de los Cuates was a private and peaceful stay in Centro Mérida. The house maintained its historic character with all the updates needed for a modern and comfortable stay. The decor was especially unique and thoughtfully done. We immensely enjoyed the back gardens though we did need a lot of mosquito spray! Comfortable and clean, truly a memorable stay. Check-in and communication was also excellent.
This Vrbo was beautiful and cozy. It was in a good neighborhood and only a 10 minute walk to the Grand Plaza. There were many places to eat and drink nearby. The pool was a great place to relax during a hot Mérida afternoon! Super easy to communicate with the Sebastian and Ela. Overall we had an amazing stay! Would recommend!
This location was perfect to access several neighborhoods in Merida. Our host, Salvador, was great. The pictures do not do this house justice- it is stunning.
Out of the 40 or so rental properties we've stayed in, this was the most beautiful. Everywhere you look, you'll find some wonderful artifact, lovely textile, fascinating piece of folk art, etc. We especially loved sitting on the patio in the morning and evening. Be prepared to figure things out on your own, however, and be careful with all those doors and keys!
Lovely home with great amenities for our group of friends. We admired the beauty of the furnishings and decorations in the home, enjoyed the pool every day, and had fun hanging out in the outdoor area. We also cooked together a lot! I will mention that there is a happening cantina on the corner with live music most nights. It never bothered us, and ended at a reasonable hour, but some people might be bothered. Staff was responsive and very kind. You will only get one set of keys, so if your group tends to split and do different things, you'll have to coordinate the keys. Enjoy your stay!
Our family of 6 stayed for a couple of days and adored Casa de los Cuates and we promised ourselves that if we’d ever move to Mexico we’d want a place just like that. The location was great too, not a busy street with free parking and close to the center. Definitely your next stay in Merida.
Casa los cuales was a great place to stay. The staff were unbelievably responsive to all our questions and needs. They came midway through the week to clean and we’re just so nice all around. The ac works great in the bedrooms which was most welcome. The pool was so fun for the kids and to cool off from the Merida heat!it’s an easy walk to town. Great stay all around! Thank you
The photos do not do this property justice! The house is stunning and spacious.
The location is excellent and we enjoyed the easy walk to the main square.
The property manager (Salvador) was incredibly communicative and helpful - he did an excellent job.
We would happily book this property again - it was a total dream.
This was our second stay at the home. The pictures are accurate. The location is great you are close enough to walk to restaurants and stores but you live in a neighborhood. The local fruit and vegetable market is great and the small supermarket is good for filling in anything you need. The staff is wonderful.
Sitting in the back is so relaxing that you need to push yourself to leave the house and pool.
Looking forward to a return stay.
This is an amazing home. Everywhere you look there is great art. The house is in a great location. The staff is great. Salvador is responsive making the stay comfortable and fun. The pool and outside are great. An awesome place to have coffee in the morning and drinks at night. We look forward to returning next year.
I recently stayed at this vacation home in Mérida, Mexico, and it was nothing short of incredible. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the charm and beauty of the property. The home perfectly blends traditional Yucatecan architecture with modern comforts, creating a space that is both stylish and welcoming.
The house itself was impeccably clean, with spacious rooms and tasteful décor. The kitchen was fully equipped, making it easy to prepare meals, though the nearby restaurants tempted me out more often than not. The outdoor space was a true oasis—a private pool surrounded by lush greenery and a shaded patio where I could relax with a book or enjoy my morning coffee.
The location was ideal, nestled in a quiet neighborhood yet close to the heart of Mérida. It was easy to explore the vibrant markets, historic buildings, and cultural landmarks, all just a short drive or walk away. The hosts were incredibly attentive and provided great recommendations for local attractions and dining options.
One highlight was experiencing Mérida's nightlife and weekend street festivals, which were just a stone’s throw from the house. Returning to the tranquil comfort of the home after a day of exploring was the perfect way to unwind.
If you're looking for a place to stay in Mérida, this vacation home is a gem. Whether you're here for culture, relaxation, or adventure, it offers everything you need for an unforgettable trip. I can't wait to return!
Staying in this historic home felt like staying in a museum! My daughter loved the fish pond. Convenient location, safe. Lots of mosquitos in the back yard made it difficult to use but still very beautiful to look at.
This casita is gorgeous. The pictures do not do it justice. The pool is much larger and deeper than it looks in pictures. We spent all our evenings in the back yard with that beautiful jungle view. Bring bugspray!!! It's totally worth it! Our 1.5 year old daughter loved feeding the Koi fish every other day. It was a real treat. The location feels really safe. We loved listening to the bands play at the cantina in the evenings - but no worry, they were always finished at about 8pm, so it didn't keep us up. The only thing I would say is that the washer filled sooo very slowly. I mean it took hours for a load to go through the washer. I don't know if there is a kink in the water line or something, but it's definitely worth looking into. 10/10 would definitely stay here again and we have been referring all our friends!
This was a really beautiful & unique home to stay in for our family trip to Mérida.
The interior & landscape design created a very comfortable environment for all four of us. The pool is surprisingly deep & surrounded by a very lush canopy of tropical plants.
The kitchen includes all that you need & the bedrooms we’re spacious & air conditioned.
There are a lot of mosquitoes but we brought bug spray.
We enjoyed the morning visit of a family of cats each day & the Latin music from the cantina next door. It added to the ambiance of a Mexican holiday, & the music was never too loud & didn’t last very late at all.
Our fave places to eat were La Lupita, Los Trompos & Marlin Azul. All so good!
We recommend Lawson’s for airport transfers & tours. We were lucky to be able to have an amazing tour with the owner of Lawson’s, Ralph, that included cooking a Mayan lunch, visiting Uxmal & swimming in a community run cenote. All of it was incredibly fun & the care extended to our family by each person (3 transfers & one tour) was greatly appreciated.
We’ll be back!
This charming and expansive villa in the heart of the city was like staying in a cross between a museum and an art gallery but still had a homey feeling. Our host was so nice and extremely helpful, giving us many recommendations and the private courtyard jungle pool was the icing on the cake. This was the perfect home to explore Merida.
This is a beautiful property, exquisitely decorated where the owners spared no expense or effort in designing a perfect retreat n historic centro. Quiet, well equipped, and very clean, we'd return in an instant--and probably will--as soon as we get back to our favorite cty, Merida.
Highly Recommended! Amazing eclectic decor in a charming large, cool hacienda styled house with a koi pond, fountain and trees in the middle, complete with a large tropical garden with pool in the back. Comfortable beds and good showers. A dish washer would be great but is not advised for the area due to the hard minerals in the water.
More written information (in English) on how to run the house would be helpful. Bring mosquito repellent. Enjoy the Magic!
