House is always 100% clean for guests, as I clean the home myself. All prior reviews and guest book entries indicate as much. Home is an older home in an older neighborhood. No prior complaints regarding beds or appliances. Renter never reached out during his stay to voice any concern or problem. Issues are handled by me ASAP. Kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, dishes, etc. Our rental listing clearly states the home is not childproofed. Renter installed cheap childproof doorknobs that I was unable to remove. I had to call a repairman to make an emergency trip to remove doorknobs, which comes at a higher rate than removing them myself. In attempting to remove, the doorknob was scratched up. It was replaced. If a renter is going to make a personal modification to my property to accommodate his family - please clean up your mess and remove your modification before you leave. As it were, the front door childproof cap prevented exit from the home. This is a liability on my part once I became aware of it if something were to occur tbat required exit out the front door. Removal was absolutely necessary. Again, no contact from renter regarding any issue prior to his review. My phone number and contact info was provided at time of check-in on reservation as well as info sheet in the home. The claim filed against this renter was the only claim filed for the entire spring and summer season. I am thankful to all of the courteous, kind guests who stayed in our home and treated it respectfully.

Our check-in is at 4 pm. This group was given full access to the home at 2:30 pm on their check in day. The propane was empty. I didn’t realize. I offered full reimbursement if guest wanted to procure a new propane canister. He agreed. Never provided receipt for reimbursement. Requested 3x. A group did check out at 10 am the day of this guest’s arrival. There were Cheetos in a few extra places. There were zero Cheerios anywhere in the home. I did laugh and tell this guest about it. I still gave them a clean house and early access. The group smoked marijuana in my home, which is unforgivable. Brand new, clean bedding was placed on both queen beds. Bedding for the bunk beds was provided. I do not make the bunk beds. We attempted to fix the outdoor shower. We wanted to coordinate our visit to the home and arrival of a plumber with the guest. We never got a return response after 2 days of delayed responses from this person. He was last contacted on Thursday morning of his visit and never responded. It is not my policy to access the house with consent from a guest. Communication is required for help. My owner closet was broken into by this group. This group broke my indoor shower. My house has great reviews for cleanliness and it was clean for this group’s arrival. Any concerns or issues, had they been mentioned, would have been handled immediately. Nothing. Another false narrative. This person is upset due to a pending damage claim.
