A little freshening up is needed

The property manager was more than helpful.
The vacation rental was clean.
I was more than happy with the location.
I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental.

Overall the property was pretty good. It's obvious that certain maintenance and upgrades haven't been kept up. There was peeling paint on doors, a couple cabinet doors were askew and didn't close properly, the trim throughout the property looks like it's been dirty and cleaned for a decade or more and has not been repainted recently as everything was basically "stained" by dirt. I don't think the property was "dirty" per se but because the doors, cabinets, and trim were all so dirt-stained it made the entire property seem dirty. The kitchen was well-equipped but with older appliances. I did see one palmetto bug in the kitchen during our stay but also, during our stay, the routine Terminix visit occurred so I know they do make an effort at extermination. I've lived in the south before and I know palmetto bugs are hard to kill and no matter how clean you are, it's not uncommon to find them. I don't think it was from a lack of attention or effort, it's just a fact of living in the south. Overall the linens and furniture was comfortable -- on a scale of 1-10 I'd say it was a 6. The extra pillows in the closet need new pillow cases. They were stained brown and looked very uninviting -- almost like the stains you'd expect in a smokers house. Nothing smelled like smoke but these linens definitely need replacement. The bed in the master was very firm.The view was very nice and the entire property was pretty quiet -- there wasn't a lot of loud music or people acting stupid. I did see security personnel but even if I hadn't, the property seemed very safe to us.
