Nice, quiet, and safe place for my husband and me to stay while exploring Charleston and the surrounding area. Plenty of parking, a comfy bed, and a warm, good pressured shower made our stay enjoyable.
The Carriage House was cute, compact, clean and had everything needed for our short 4 night trip. Host was super responsive, caring and very accommodating. The small house was easy to access and we really loved it. I would stay again in a heartbeat.
Very quiet and quaint accommodations. Stayed for 28 days to visit with family in the area. Host was excellent, friendly, and easy to contact if anything was needed. The mattress on the bed was perfect and allowed us to get a good nights sleep after a long day of caring for aging parents. Would definitely stay here again!
Spent three days at this wonderful location. Easy access to to downtown Charleston. Very comfortable. Great temperature control, the bed was super comfortable. The guests were very nice. We will definitely stay here again when in Charleston.
Perfect spot for weekend of USA Cycling Road National Championship
Whether you are racing or spectating at the annual cycling race (will be held in Charleston for the next 5 years), this spot is great for any duo wanting proximity to the race venue and downtown Charleston restaurants. Street parking was easy.
Highly recommended if staying in the area. Very easy access to capitol, downtown, and highways. Comfortable and quiet. Owners have provided all that’s needed. Easy access and good street parking.
This Carriage House was the perfect fit for my needs. The Hosts were very gracious. I highly recommend.

In 60 years of traveling the us this was the worst ever wanted to leave after walking in but husband wasn’t feeling well. No tv in bedroom as previously indicated. No toaster. Tiny love seat felt like springs coming through. No chairs except that love seat yard was a disaster with dead foliage everywhere and trash and children’s toys. Will forever be leery of booking with vrbo no place for microwave so it was on top of frig and I could not reach. Had to hold our plates to eat. Could say more

Dennis, we are sorry you had such a poor experience. However, it is disappointing that you failed to communicate any of your issues to us as we would have done our best to remedy. I reviewed the listing and I see no mention of a TV in the bedroom. We’ve received no complaints of the sofa but will test it out and determine if it needs replacing. It is fall in WV. There are many leaves falling from mature trees. Like most people, we have decided to allow them to all fall before removing. We would have made accommodations for the microwave but you didn’t give us that courtesy. There is a large coffee table you could have used to eat. We have small children as is indicated in our listing. They occasionally leave toys out in the yard and the weather hasn’t exactly been conducive to much yard work as it snowed last week. There is some contractor material stowed against the fence out of the way as we are working to finish the roof/gutter/soffit on one side of the house. In the future, please consider bringing issues to your host prior to leaving a scathing review. Local small business owners would appreciate that. Take care.
My husband and I returned to West Virginia from Beaufort, South Carolina to care for my elderly mother for the week. We had a lovely time with her, and when we came home, we enjoyed the cozy cottage that comforted and nurtured us well enough to send us back out the next day rested and reinvigorated
Everything from the kitchenette to the TV the Lavish shower off the bedroom and that incredible bed made for a winning combination
We enjoyed our stay very very much and hope someday that we may return

Just Ok
Property had dirty fans, air fresher in vents and the shower didn’t drain. The bed quilt and pillow case has dried blood on it.
Carriage House is in a quiet neighborhood with all the amenities of home. The bed was very comfortable. TV was Roku setup. From there it is an easy drive to downtown and the Coliseum. We were able to walk along the river every morning.
Only two surprises: refrigerator door is backwards. And, no warning about street cleaning, so we got a parking ticket.
The carriage house was perfect! Upon arrival, it was clean offered all the amenities needed, including a washer and dryer, utensils and a smart TV with access to the best apps. The kitchen came stocked with seasonings and spices and they even had the ice trays full in the freezer which made this lover of ice very happy! The bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept on, even better than my bed at home! They even took the time to gather brochures and create an entire 3 ring binder of activities to do in the area. Their attention to detail was unreal! Communication with the owner was great. The space was small but they managed to utilize every bit of space in a way that made the home comfortable, enjoyable and feel larger than it was. It was absolutely perfect for the two of us and our small dog. Close to the interstate for easy access to everything we were doing. This will definitely be our preferred and first choice of place to stay next time we visit! Thank you so much!
