We had a small family for my mom's 75th birthday. The hosts were wonderful, very responsive to our questions. The house was great - right on the lake with a beautiful yard that was perfect for hanging out. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked. Our only complaints are that it really is not meant for 15 adult sized people - the two sleep chairs would work great for a smaller teen or a child. And that it was quite difficult packing our own sheets and towels when we were travelling from Colorado, Missouri, and California. But overall, would highly recommend!
This was out second stay which says something right away. There were five adults, three teens, and a 10 year old. All but one part of an extended family. The host seemed to have thought of everything regarding what we needed. There was even a kayak, some fishing gear, games, a grill, and a burn pit. Instructions on wifi and the T.V. were clear (though we had a rule not to watch T.V. on vacation). In short we were very happy with the accommodation and may will sign up for a third time.
The house was as advertised with many amenities such as a well stocked game shelf, nice array of kitchen tools, and useful items for a lake vacation such as a two seater kayak. We did find that there was no screen for the bedroom with the bunkbeds and we purchased an insert screen at Walmart which we left there. That was the only issue we had in an otherwise very good experience. We may well apply to return there.
Right off the lake, electric hoist included with visit, kitchen is beautiful, and plenty of room.
We had 10 people, 4 adults, 6 kids, ranging in ages from 17-8, and they all had a great time.
The house is fine—not particularly big or exciting or special. Seemed to be furnished with a lot of throwaway or garage-sale kind of items. None of that is a big deal, as my family isn't very high-maintenance.
The first hiccup came when we were notified that a portion of our stay was double-booked, so we would have to leave a day early. This was disappointing, but the owners were apologetic and offered reimbursement. An honest mistake, I'm sure.
The next issue was when the dishwasher broke down shortly into our stay. We were told it would be replaced the next day, but nobody came until 2 days later. When folks finally did come to install a new dishwasher, they discovered an alarming amount of black mold growing behind the dishwasher & kitchen cabinets. To the credit of the owners, they offered an additional partial refund, but our experience here was diminished nonetheless, and the house should be considered unfit to rent until the mold is eradicated.
Gave 2 stars for cleanliness instead of 1 because the house was otherwise in good shape upon arrival, although I expect this is thanks to the previous renters, since we were asked to completely clean the house before leaving.
