About this property

Cherrybrook Hideaway - 12 mins to Ski Sundown!

Welcome to Cherrybook Hideaway, one of the unique "deck houses" that were popularized in the Northeast during the mid-1900's for their warm wood, walls of glass, open floor plans, and cathedral ceilings. Our Hideaway is a mountainside retreat situated on 1.5 acres of private woods.

Enjoy your morning coffee on the wraparound deck, surrounded by trees and birds. Admire the sunset while enjoying a cocktail on the patio. Stargaze while in front of the firepit. With serene views from every window (and there are a ton of windows!), you’ll feel like you're living in the treetops.

This house comfortably sleeps 6. Enjoy a book in one of the many indoor and outdoor reading nooks, snuggle up on the sofa and play an LP from our collection (or bring along your favorites), enjoy stargazing at the fire pit, or cozy up in front of the flatscreen TV in the family room.

Although this house is secluded in a serene landscape, you’re only 6 minutes into Collinsville for antiquing, boutiques, LaSalle’s, and the rails-to-trails; 12 minutes to Ski Sundown; and 9 minutes to the convenient shopping. 33 minutes to Bradley International Airport; 2 hours to Boston and NYC.

Please note:
Uneven surfaces
Open staircase
Pets have lived in the house in the past
Not an allergy-free home (pets, nuts, perfumes, dyes and other common allergens may have been introduced to the house’s environment in the past)

Thanks for another great time at your beautiful home! Your place is super comfy. We love sitting on the back deck on clear nights looking at the bright sky with all its stars! During the day we enjoy hiking and taking trips to surrounding towns. Our weekend was perfect and we hope to return in the Spring!

Great Rental in mountains of CT
Well appointed and welcoming home. Comfortably sleeps 6. Thoughtful hosts and great communication. String is wooded and serene. Only tip, GPS directs you to turn too soon, Don’t, continue around bend to “white” mailbox with street number and enter driveway. Will definitely visit again. Oh, almost forgot, they have a record player and nice collection of albums. Intro’d hi-ci and 33RPMs to my 20 something kids🥰

Canton vacation
Jessica’s home is amazing! It had everything you need and more. The kitchen is fully stocked and the furniture and beds are super comfy! My sister and I especially loved having our morning tea on the wraparound deck with all its beautiful plants and flowers. Our week was perfect! We plan on returning in the fall.

About the host

Hosted by Jessica Livingston

Host profile image
Jessica and Ben live in Westchester County, NY and Canton, CT with their two kids. Ben is an actor and Jessica is a teacher.

Why they chose this property

We bought the cabin after the untimely passing of Jessica's brother as a place of retreat, natural beauty, and comfort. We love sharing this special place with others!

What makes this property unique

We sometimes call the cabin our treehouse! The cabin just rustic enough and just modern enough. It's both private and secluded but close to many conveniences.
