This Highland Lake home is beautiful ! Our family enjoyed spending time on the large screened in porch which has furniture for relaxing and a picnic table for eating. The views of the lake and mountains from the porch are amazing.! We also spent a lot of time on the spacious deck as well. The home is equipped with everything you may need. The property is very well cared for and very clean. There was plenty of room for my family of 5 to sleep. Seth was extremely easy to communicate with and always responded very quickly. We plan on renting this property again!
We first visited in 2015, creating lasting memories which brought us back in 2020. Regretfully, our trip in 2020 wasn't long enough but we still were excited to return. Since 2015, the owners have made many changes and upgrades. So grateful the owners are willing to share their property with others. My family and especially my kids will forever remember this place. Blessings!

Thank you for your wonderful comments, Andrea. We are so thrilled that you and your family have enjoyed being at our special place, it's so fulfilling to share with others and know that they appreciate the time there too. Look forward to having you back in the future! Seth
Comfortable house with a great screened in porch and deck. Access to and from the beautiful lake was a bit of a climb! Street noise could be disruptive at times. More concise instructions on Trash pickup and Wifi would have been helpful! That being said, Host Seth was very responsive to any questions we had.
We had a great week at Seth's place. There was a very nice dock with a raft to swim to and dive from...the screened in porch was very nice and there was enough room in the house for the 8 of us to stretch out and not be right on top of each other all the time. The two bathrooms and two showers were wonderful to have. Game nights were the highlight of the trip and we also could not stay away from the ring and hook game on the porch. We did some fishing and explored the lake on the pontoon boat we rented. Seth was very responsive to any questions we had and we appreciate him sharing his place with us. It was a great break from day to day life and provided the recharge we all needed
Perfect location for access to Highland Lake and downtown Bridgton. We could walk downtown, although Highland Road is well traveled and sidewalks do not begin until the town beach area. The weather was not the best to enjoy the outdoor space that was provided but there is plenty of room in the screened in porch and deck. The dock is a beautiful sunset venue. Kayaks were available and utilized a bit. The ping pong table in the basement was a hit. While common space in kitchen and living room are not huge, we managed to spread out in the other areas despite cooler temps. Great place for a family or two to stay if looking for a casual, cabin like experience with great access.
78 Highland Road, Bridgton was a good place to stay. Everything was clean and the process of getting in and leaving was easy. I found it hard, until just before our stay, to communicate with the owner only through Vrbo - cumbersome to have to go through a third party. The house is comfortable - the screened-in porch is great. The twin beds (I used one) had no box springs, so the mattress was low and rested on the wooden slats underneath, which took some getting used to. And we were fortunate with the weather, for late August - cooler than expected temperatures - otherwise the lack of AC, at least in the bedrooms, would likely have been difficult. Suggestion: the first floor bathroom could use a hook on the door or wall, for hanging items of clothing while showering.
We were pleased to find this place in early spring, and enjoyed our stay there. The dock and boats were not out yet, although we would have been able to use them had we been able to carry them (we weren't).. A few things could have been made clearer in the listing, such as dates for putting out boats and dock, and the fact that YOU NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN SHEETS AND TOWELS, ALL OF THEM! We were able to purchase what we needed, but it was kind of a shock. The screened porch is delightful, and the beds comfortable. There are no closets in the 2 upstairs bedrooms so be prepared to live out of your suitcase or the quite adequate bureaus. The kitchen is just fine. Indoor dining can only be done by 4 people, but in summer I assume everyone eats at the picnic table on the porch. It would be a GREAT place if you had kids or grandkids with you! Seth was VERY responsive which was a big help.

Ideal location, beautiful sunsets, great house
We rented the house for a month and enjoyed every minute of our time there! The house is very roomy for a cape and can easily accommodate up to 8 comfortably with room for additional quests on cots or air mattresses. The house is well equipped with kitchen supplies , flat screen TV, fans, washer and dryer in basement, gas grill, picnic table, comfortable couch and best of all the garage! Great to store bikes, golf clubs, fishing poles, floats, etc... A new ping pong table was set up in the garage and was lots of fun. The waterfront offers beautiful views of the lake and distant White mountains. There is an additional picnic table at the waterfront plus a hammock and fire pit. (Please note that there are two sets of stairs down to the waterfront) The use of the two kayaks was awesome! Exploring the lake and listening to the loons in the early morning or at sunset was amazing! We had many friends and family come to visit us and the house, waterfront and location offers something for everyone. Friends brought their motor boat which was easily launched from the Highland Boat launch just down the street, plenty of room for parking, within walking distance and bike riding to town, Highland Golf Course just up the street, convenient location to grocery stores and restaurants.
The owner is fabulous to work with and very responsive. He answered all of our questions and was very accommodating. Thanks for a wonderful summer vacation and we will definitely return again!
Just returned from an excellent week long vacation. My only complaint is that it wasn't long enough. The house is fully stocked, has everything you need. When we weren't down at the lake we were on the super cozy porch. The location is perfect as it's walking distance to town with shops and restaurants. The house is very close to a small public beach. The public beach was a nice change of scenery for the kids who could enjoy swimming in shallow water and playing on an actual beach. The owner of the property was quick to respond and on top of communications. I highly recommend this rental.
This cottage was in a perfecf location, you could even walk into Bridgton to shop. There were plenty of floats, paddle boards, etc. to enjoy on the late. Our family had a great time!
The greatest place! The views of the lake are amazing. The deck area and screen house were perfect for our family. I loved being able to walk into town and visit all the shops.
We had a great week at this property.
We absolutely loved the screened in porch. We spent all our time there or on the dock. The owner was very responsive. Great place. Only suggestion would be to include instructions about when trash pick up and lawn mowing would be occurring. Also, we knew there was no linen but didn’t think to supply our own toilet paper/paper towel. Fortunately, there was a store very close by!
We had a wonderful stay! The lake was quiet and beautiful. It was located in a great area with hiking trails, restaurants and a small town to walk around. The house was tidy and provided everything we needed. The canoe and kayaks were great to have access to and the screened in porch was especially nice since we ate most meals in. The owner was readily available to answer any questions. We had a lovely time.

Thanks Shannon and we are so glad you enjoyed our special place! Best, Seth
This was our second stay at the house. It suites our family very well. The house is clean and well organized. Seth's communication is timely and helpful. Another great stay on Highland Lake!
We had an awesome second year at this property! The water is so great, and the porch is the best place. We made good use of the kitchen this year. We love the proximity to bridgton downtown and we'll definitely be back!
We were instantly happy that we booked the house as soon as we walked in! The house was organized and clean. The new deck was perfect for all of our family to gather. We had a great time swimming and had multiple kayaks and canoes. Can’t say enough good things. Did I mention the sunsets were sublime? Can’t wait until next year.
This property is excellent. Perfect for kids, spent a ton of time on the porch and dock. At first I didn't think being so close to town would be good, but turned out to be awesome for strolls to get ice cream and to go to Reny's. The nearby park with beach and playground was great for the toddler. Beds were comfy, house was well equipped. Boats were fun. Would definitely recommend this and we'll hopefully be back next year!
This house was perfect for our group, very comfortable and great proximity to the lake with kayaks available for use! You do need to bring your own sheets, pillow cases and towels. There are blankets that were plenty warm, but no sheets included on the beds. Otherwise the place was well stocked with kitchenware, soap etc. Easy to find and about a 15 minute walk to downtown Bridgton.

Could be perfect with some improvements
Property came as advertised. Couple positives and areas for improvement: Positives: Excellent location. Sunroom was the best room! House equipped for family fun such as games, kayak, life vests, and much more. Walk way to camp fire and lake was beautiful. Improvement areas: Professional pest control needed. New mattresses and updated home furniture such as couch. Recommend window unit AC for upstairs and downstairs. This could be a premium spot for budget friendly vacation homes.

Fantastic location, great dock, plenty of water crafts to use, perfect for our needs, close to town
This rental was perfect for our needs, close to my elderly parents, close to town, grandkids had the best time jumping off the dock and using the canoe, paddle boards & kayaks- just great they are all right there at the lakefront! My husband had some of his best fishing ever at Highland Lake and we have been going for years. Owner had just built a huge screened in porch which was awesome- everyone hung out there as it was very humid! So that was terrific!!! Deck is amazingly as well. Only three things did not match up to our expectations- upon arrival one part of the house smelled like cigars, it was very humid so I just got some air freshener and that helped a lot. The one bathroom is very nice but tiny and there is only one queen size bed on second floor which is great, queen on first floor is a full size with like no mattress, twins were all fine for the kids. Having fans provided in all the rooms was a plus as we had a very humid week—- overall a great time, family members are already talking about next year!! Sunsets from the dock are amazing, very relaxing!!

Best of everything
We had a great time during our 1 week stay in July, 2018. It was our first time vacationing in the lake region of Maine.
The house was well appointed, but our favorite part was the brand new screened in porch. We spent our evenings in the screen room and didn't have to worry about needing any insect repellent.
The location of the house was ideal. We were close to the town beach (though we didn't go there), we were able to ride our bicycles around town (the owner allowed us to store our bicycles in the basement during our stay), & we could walk into town if we wanted.
When we were fishing on the dock or on the water (swimming, kayaking (2), paddle boarding (2), canoeing (1), or just floating in our tubes) we felt like we were "away from it all." There is a small island in the middle of the lake which was fun to get to and explore.
There is an outdoor hammock, picnic table, adirondack chairs, a small fire pit, a large deck with a gas grill, and corn hole set up in the back yard.
In Bridgton, within a 5 mile radius, there were 2 grocery stores, a drug store, post office, hospital, and places to go for breakfast, lunch, dinner and ice cream. If you forget anything, you can go to Reny's department store. There are some historical places to see. We went to the Rufus Porter Museum downtown.
There is a bait and tackle shop in town to get worms and crawlers for fishing.
My daughter and I were able to take a painting class at Gallery 302 (check their website for class/workshop offerings) which was a memorable experience.
On the rainy day of our stay we watched a movie at Magic Lantern Movie Theater which has really comfortable seating!
My sister and I went to the Clipper Merchant Tea House (reservations recommended) for tea and scones (they even had gluten free scones for her) with lemon curd and Devon cream. It was delicious!
There are antique shops, boutiques, and a bookstore downtown.
We went to Pondicherry trails several times during the week. The trails are easy to moderate and the scenery is beautiful.
There is also a Drive In Movie theater in Bridgton but we ran out of time. If we had a little more time, we would have hiked Shawnee Peak (10-15 minutes away).
There is plenty to do in the Bridgton area. If you want to stay at the house, you can simply enjoy the lake with mountain views or relax in the screen room. There is something for everyone. We'd like to return again someday.

Exceeded Expectations
Ideal place to spend time with friends and family. Layout as described was very helpful and accurate. Property was pristine and very welcoming. It had something for everyone; reading in a hammock, swimming/floating/kayaking/fishing in the water, watching sunsets from the porch, smores by the fire, laying out on the docks, strolling through a friendly and charming downtown, biking/hiking, or just spending quality time with all. I had several friends visit during our stay and they loved it as well. Can’t wait to go back.
