We recently stayed at this condo and overall had a great experience. The location is excellent—quiet, safe, and very family-oriented. It’s also just a short walk to the beach and 5th Avenida, and there’s a grocery store about a 7-minute walk from the resort, which was very convenient. The staff on site are friendly and helpful, and all the necessary basics were provided for our stay.Mercedes was wonderful to communicate with—very accommodating and always quick to respond to any questions, concerns, or issues that came up. We also used the chef services she recommended, and they were fantastic!The condo itself could use some updating and a bit of TLC, and it’s worth noting that there is no traditional oven, only a microwave oven. Additionally, the resort next door can get quite loud, with music playing through most of the afternoon and evening, which may not be ideal for light sleepers.Despite a few drawbacks, we enjoyed our stay and truly appreciated the great location and attentive support from Mercedes.

Great location and nice rooms

This location was central to restaurants, shopping and the beach. The property is very comfortable and large but could use some minor updates for some wear and tear. You will hear music from the surrounding clubs all the time but inside the room is quiet. The pool is gorgeous and the swim up bar is very convenient.

The overall experience was pleasant. The communication was excellent and the property was just what our family needed during our stay in Playa Del Carmen. Easy access to the Beach and 5th Avenue allowed us the freedom we needed to have a relaxing a peaceful vacation.

Great Location

Great location right near all the action but perfectly situated so you aren't bothered by all the busy noise outside. There was an inconsistency with the upkeep of the rooftop pool and the property manager helped to amend the situation. The property manager was extremely attentive and in constant communication with an immediate response time.

Summer Vacation

Overall nice condo. Private pool needed cleaning, but we only used it once, since we had other activities planned during the day and would return exhausted, so i didn't bring it up to management. Overall condo is well kept and the a/c was nice and cold.

Very cool unit. The rooftop pool was perfect.

Great unit. Close to fifth ave. And beach. Restaurants and Starbucks. Could use a little TLC in the unit , owners letting it go a little. Happy overall and nice quiet property with older residents and guests. Like way old. The staff was very nice and professional.

Awesome Mexican getaway

We loved our stay at Aldea Thai. Checkin very easy, great response from management when a problem came up. Condo a little dated but very clean- Luz came and cleaned twice a week and did an amazing job. Beds very comfy in both bedrooms. We were disappointed at the condition of the pool - it’s not the beautiful one pictured; paint chipping and we thought it was covered in algae but after 3 pool cleanings it was still there so not sure what the issue is-we learned to ignore it and loved the deck upstairs. Constant electronic music from the rooftop next door but you get used to it. The big pool on 2 nd floor gorgeous and everyone very friendly! Would definitely stay there again!

Great location!

As some folks said, there is a little wear n tear on the unit but MUCH less than some reviews. The roof top pool was not ready and took a call to get going and the finish in the pool is not as nice as others but my daughter loved it and spent a lot of time there. The kitchen was well stocked and seemed to have everything we needed. The big downer? It’s time to upgrade the A/C unit! It’s crazy loud. While we were there the weather was super hot so the A/C was needed 24/7. It worked great but made sleep rough. Again, most of the year it’s probably not a problem but with lows of 80 degrees at 4:00 am and near 100 percent humidity it just had to stay on. Overall a great experience and the staff were quick to respond. Thanks, Jim

Amazing condo

The property had three bedrooms and two bathrooms and both were large, there was unlimited channels on the TV and it was close to both the downtown to walk with Shopping and many excellent restaurants and the beautiful beach and ocean. I have been to Mexico many many times but I have never been to such a beautiful place and spent time in such a beautiful condo. I recommend this to anybody on any budget The rooftop pool and patio area was incredible. What a wonderful trip, thank you Mercedes for taking such good care of us

Excellent Location!!!

My husband and I joined my 20 year old cousin and her boyfriend on their first trip out of the country. Knowing they wanted to see as much of the Yucatán peninsula as they could I wanted to pick a place that was central to everything and I was not disappointed with this rental. The hotel was in a perfect location for us to walk to the beach, restaurants, bars, and transportation to take us to the other places we wanted to visit. And despite the close proximity to 5th avenue and the beach the hotel was surprisingly quiet which was great when it came time to get some rest. The apartment itself was clean, comfortable, and the perfect home base for our week long adventure and the rooftop pool was an awesome way to relax after a long day of exploring! This place had everything we needed and then some including chairs to take to the beach and floats for the rooftop pool! And last but not least, everyone we dealt with at Playa Paradise Rentals was helpful, friendly, and prompt to respond. If are looking for a great place to stay in Playa del Carmen you will not be disappointed with this rental! We will absolutely plan to stay here again on our next trip to this beautiful part of Mexico!

We love Aldea Thai!

This was my second stay at Aldea Thai. The location is very convenient to 5th Avenue and the beach. The property was extremely clean; we had a maid that came three times during the week which was very nice. It is an older property but very well kept. One of the bedrooms had an ocean view which was wonderful. The beds were very comfortable. The water pressure in the showers was amazing. We didn't cook any while we were there but appreciated the well equipped kitchen. Have 2 1/2 bathrooms was very nice. They had beach chairs which you don't find a lot of properties providing. The views from the rooftop were amazing. The large pool with swim up bar on the 2nd floor was very nice. We liked pretty much everything about it and would recommend it.

Great location, great property, responsive property management

This was our first trip to Playa del Carmen, and we hit the jackpot with this location. The beach is less than a five minute walk, and so is Playa's vibrant 5th Avenue with endless shops, restaurants and bars. The photos represent the property very well. The private penthouse is every bit as dreamy as pictured. We spent countless hours up here with our college-aged kids playing games, lounging in hammocks, floating in our private pool and listening to music. Speaking of music -- Playa loves its EDM. You could hear a persist EDM beat at many resorts, but the Aldea Thai is decidedly more zen (which we enjoyed). The property manager was so friendly, responsive and helpful. She answered questions quickly before and during our trip and even helped assist us with transportation, COVID testing information and excursions. We booked an excursion to the Rio Secreto and would HIGHLY recommend it. All of us thought it was one of the neatest tours we've ever done on vacation.
