Stay in a farmhouse museum

Guests who love historical houses will enjoy their stay in The Olde Farmhouse. It truly is like staying in a museum, complete with creaking floorboards, farmhouse smells, dimly lit rooms and vintage furniture. Some may find the location to suit their needs and some may find it noisy and not all that peaceful with it being a short driveway off the main highway on PEI. Getting in and out of the driveway can be hair-raising with the steady stream of trucks and cars traveling at 90+kms/hr! It was a convenient location to visit all things "Anne" but not so convenient to visit the East Shore attractions (1.5 hrs to Greenwich Beach) and roughly 50 mins to Charlottetown. The house is spacious for a family stay but there was no seating around the firepit which had weeds growing in it. There also needs to be better lighting in the kitchen with only 2 small windows. Would recommend this stay to vintage lovers wanting a Farmhouse experience 30 minutes from Cavendish.

PEI Farmhouse

The big old farmhouse was very nostalgic! Peaceful and comfortable! Farmland all around it gave it a secluded feel but Summerside was only 10 minutes away for any shopping or dining out needs.

PEI Sight Seeing

The farmhouse was a lovely place to land while touring the different parts of beautiful PEI. It was large enough for our group of six to spread out, but also come together for breakfast or card games around the kitchen table. The farmhouse is close to groceries and restaurants in Summerside.

Great historic home

Beautiful Victorian farmhouse made us feel like we had stepped right into The Road to Avonlee books. There was even a 19th century piano which my adult son loved playing. 2 minute drive to grocery store, so some meals at home allowed for a splurge dinner at the “White Sands Hotel” in the books—actually Dalvay by the Sea resort. Leslie was a great host and replied quickly to emails. This is the place to stay on PEI, especially if you are here for Anne of Green Gables.
