About this property
la Randonneuse - Berze LE Chatel
Paul, cycling enthusiast & "professional" whose services you will appreciate during your stay (all at the same time monitor, guide, hirer & repairer) and Claire open the doors to you of a lovely authentic old "gatekeeper's house" from the end of the 19th century steeped in history & carefully revisited as a gentle holiday resort, nestled in peace in the middle of the Clunisoise & Mâconnaise countryside on the edge of a bucolic wooded meadow, formerly attached to the Cluny-Mâcon railway line (in service from 1870 to 1968) now transformed into a "greenway" (bicycle route that passes in front of the gîte). Magnificent preserved environment, nestled in the hollow of a verdant valley nestled under the wooded ridges of a vast wild forest massif classified & protected in "Zone Natura 2000" for its remarkable ecosystem, close to the first vineyards of "Val Lamartinien" and very close to the picturesque little village of Berzé-le-Châtel, famous for its majestic 10th century medieval fortress (visible in the background), an exceptional heritage jewel of Burgundy (sumptuous castle with, among other things, fourteen towers, a chapel Carolingian and several "French" & "English" gardens). Spacious cottage of very good comfort. Warm country character with contemporary accents. Zen & soft atmosphere. Cozy & cozy. Very charming. Large terrace opening onto the meadows, exposed & shaded by two imposing ash trees. Pleasant lawned & vegetated garden offering a beautiful unobstructed view of the surrounding countryside. Composition: Detached house on 2 levels. Wireless. Electric heating + wood stove. Ground floor: living room-kitchen-lounge (double sofa bed 140x190cm as extra), separate toilet. 1st floor: 2 bedrooms (double bed 160x2000cm / 2 single beds 80x200cm that can be combined into a double bed 160x200cm), bathroom (shower), separate toilet. Terrace + small garden + local bikes + private parking. All amenities 7 km. Please note: 2 bicycles are provided free of charge. Exceptional location 7 km from the illustrious abbey city of Cluny (all amenities on site), nestled "on the Greenway" at the foot of the majestic fortress of Berzé, priceless medieval treasure of Burgundy dating from the 10th century! Lovely authentic old "gatekeeper's house" from the end of the 19th century - steeped in history & completely revisited in a very comfortable holiday resort - nestled in peace on the edge of meadows, in the middle of the Clunisoise & Mâconnaise countryside, in the heart of the bucolic vineyards of " Val Lamartinien" (named after the famous French poet and writer native to the area / first vines 300m away). Magnificent unspoilt countryside & natural setting, nestled in the hollow of a green valley of meadows, vineyards & forests, on the wooded foothills of the southern Burgundy massif, within a protected area classified as "Zone Natura 2000" (for its very rich ecosystem), facing the northern Beaujolais massif & the sumptuous landscape jewel of the Roches de Solutré & Vergisson labeled "Grand Site de France" (located 13 km away). Ideally located on the routes of the greenway (a stone's throw from the famous "Tunnel du Bois Clair" old railway tunnel, the longest in France open to a Greenway with 1.6 km), the circuit of the Romanesque churches, the "Route Wines of Burgundy", the GR76 & a marked footpath in "green walk" (very rich network of hiking trails of the same type, accessible in the surroundings walking between vineyards & nature), 6 km from the route Renowned GMT mountain bike (Grand Tour du Massif Sud Bourgogne / vast marked mountain bike area to be covered on the 2 surrounding mountains) & 8 km of a 17 km "favorite bike loop". Ultra-privileged location in the heart of Mâconnais & Clunisois-Tournugeois (labeled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire") nestled at the very southern tip of the Mâconnais mountains on the borders of Haut Beaujolais (many vineyards to explore), at the crossroads of Bresse & the departments of Rhône & Ain. Prime location for easy access (RCEA 7 km / A6 15 km): 15 km from Mâcon (Mâcon Loché TGV station 15 km), 28 km from the Touroparc Zoo animal park, 40 km from Tournus, 41 km from Beaujeu (historic capital of Beaujolais), 41 km from Charolles, 43 km from La Clayette & 51 km from Villefranche-sur-Saône (labeled "City of Art & History"). The perfect cocoon for going green with multiple pleasures & for all bike lovers!
