About this property
Beach Front in Magical Cape Rosier
Newly renovated.
Cape Rosier is a magical place. Under every rock, around every corner, under the sea wonders are to be found. Enjoy the magic of a rocky beach, the sweet blueberries in the field across the way and the sandy beach just a short walk down the road. Whether in the sun or the swirls of fog, Cape Rosier is a magical place. The chalet is a peaceful retreat to enjoy time away from the bustle of everyday life. The Cape is located in a beautiful area surrounded by great biking, boating, nature walks and beach exploring. Just down the road you can explore the Holbrook Island Sanctuary where you can take easy hike to see wonderful birds and beautiful lilies in the pond. Visit the 4 seasons organic farm market and the Nearings good life Center. Or just sit by the shore (or inside the cottage) and watch the boats go by- the 4 masted schooners, lobster boats and more. Watch the seals, loons, cormorants and dolphins swim past. This is the cottage that has it all for a great get away.
Most of our guests are repeat customers. Book early to avoid disappointment.

We had a great stay at the chalet in Cape Rosier. It was a perfect week away with the family in Maine. The property was perfectly situated along the water and the atmosphere was incredibly pleasant. Lewis and Rosemary are wonderful hosts.
We so enjoyed our lovely A-frame on the bay! The chalet is beautifully and thoughtfully appointed from an aesthetic and functional perspective. There are so many features like solar, motion-activated walkway lights, propane heating unit as well as wood-burning stove, gas grill and bayside picnic table that add to the enjoyment of the beautiful property. The owners are as gracious and accommodating as can be.

Thank you for your kind review. We look forward to your next visit here on Cape Rosier.
We love this clean, charming, well-appointed and light-filled chalet and are already planning another stay next year! Cape Rosier is indeed magical, and Rosemary and Buzz are the perfect hosts in every way. We spent hours on the beautiful new porch/verandah overlooking the water, seeing loons, porpoises, seals, osprey, even a bald eagle. Love the rocky beach, too, where we could store a rented kayak. Can't say enough about this idyllic location and lovely, peaceful, charming chalet.
Lovely stay in a beautiful part of Maine - we were looking for some place to decompress and couldn't have asked for a better spot. The Chalet is small but well-designed for a comfortable stay and the hosts are fantastic. Isolated yet close enough to groceries, restaurants, etc to access easily. New deck is a lovely place to sit and watch the boats and birds. Highly recommend.
My family had such a restorative, peaceful stay at this beautiful home. We’ve fallen in love with Cape Rosier thanks to friends who have been coming here for years, and we were delighted to find such a special spot to explore the area, including wonderful running, hiking and swimming spots. The cottage itself is airy, modern and comfortable, and we loved listening to the sound of the waves and the buoy bell at night, and watching the birds over the ocean. We also appreciated Rosemary’s warm welcome and the helpful information she shared about the cottage and the area. We would highly recommend this place to others, and are grateful for the chance to stay here.
We loved the peace and quiet the Chalet offered. Lewis and Rosemary were great and offered many recommendations that did not disappoint! We’re looking forward to our next visit!
Amazing views, chalet, hosts. Area is peaceful with plenty of attractions for day excursions. Rosemary and Lewis are wonderful hosts, thoughtful, even shared their garden’s bounty. Fantastic stay.
Great place, hosts, lots of great places in the area. Perfect place to "get away". The host went out of her way when we arrived very late. We appreciated their great hospitality. Can easily recommend it.
The location is lovely and the cottage is terrific. It is amazingly well-equipped, and we had everything we needed. On a hot day, the attic fan did an incredible job of cooling off the cottage. We were so pleased!

A charming chalet with an amazing view of the water. Very clean and comfortable. Plenty of room to lounge indoors or outside. The owners are a delightful couple that made us feel very welcome. Enjoyed getting fresh lobster a short distance away. A wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature.

Chalet
This is our second year at the Chalet, we love it as it provides everything a small family, interested in what nature provides, could hope for. There are no crowds here, just plenty of rest and relaxation, kayak, swim, pebble beach; this is the place to get away from it all.

It can be as quiet or as "involved" as anyone would choose here in Cape Rosier. There are so many natural attractions within an hour's drive to entice you, or nature will come right up to your doorstep to entertain: bald eagles, seals, porpoise, song birds.
My wife, daughter and I had an amazing time exploring Cape Rosier by kayak. The wildlife was incredible - with many seal sightings. The Chalet was perfect - very comfortable with amazing views! We love Maine - and the Blue Hill Peninsula did not disappoint. We had a great time exploring all the coastal towns - great art, great food and friendly people. Rosemary and Buz were wonderful hosts!!

So happy you enjoyed your stay. You are welcome back any time!
My family completely enjoyed our stay. From the surprise visits from the porpoise, bald eagle and fawn. To the amazing view of the ocean. Added to this picturesque location of this property. My sons favorite was sea glass hunting on the rocky beach!
We stayed for a week at this gorgeous property. Rosemary and Buz went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. Their hospitality is one of a kind and are also some of the kindest people we have met. The beach house is kept in pristine condition and has everything you may need. The views were breathtaking. The cove is quiet and peaceful. Local lobster down the road and Acadia National Park is about a hours drive. The perfect Maine getaway!
What a dream! We’ve stayed in 5 or 6 spots in Maine and this is definitely a favorite!!! Rosemary and Buzz are wonderful hosts, and enjoy sharing information about the area. The house was recently renovated and had a fabulous covered porch that looked out to the bay. I planted myself there all week- reading books, eating little wild Maine blueberries, and watching tall ships and lobster boats go by. We saw seals and dolphins and loved the sound of the seagulls at a nearby island. Dinner three nights was lobster from a nearby lobsterman. Most restaurants and stores are 20 minutes away, so we came with groceries and ate at home because of our dog, but there are very good options from this short distance. Perfect, quiet week balanced with some exploring in nearby towns. Thank you!!!
My family of 4 and our dog had a wonderful stay at the Chalet. Buz and Rosemary were wonderful hosts, setting up a crib for us in advance and bringing in a high chair for the baby. The view is spectacular, the house super clean and well-appointed and the location is perfect for enjoying and exploring the area. We hope to come back again. Many wonderful memories made here. Thank you Buz and Rosemary!
The house is gorgeous and the view is amazing. We absolutely adored our stay. The owners were super helpful and accommodating. We were in town from CA to drop our only son off at college, Rosemary knew how this mama would be feeling and brought me hugs and chocolate! Buzz and Rosemary’s kind and welcoming spirits really made our stay at this magical property a dream. We hope to be back again!

Danni, it was a joy to host your family. If you are thinking of next summer, May I suggest you consider making reservations early. We already have several weeks booked for 2023!
Very impressed. Chalet was very clean. Nice view of the ocean. Saw many sailboats, lobster boats, schooners. We even saw a young eagle fly over one day. We had a great time. The weather was finally nice for the week after a long summer of mostly rain. We are considering going back again next summer.

What makes this property unique
It's like going back in time visiting Cape Rosier. We leave the hectic city behind and totally relax. The salty, sea air, the peace and quiet, the bald eagles, passing lobster boats, schooners, tall ships, islands off-shore.....so much to see and experience.
