About Kathleen Cotter
We are a family of engineers, healthcare, and marketing/media professionals. The cottage was a joy to build and furnish. We are meticulous about how it is kept. We, the senior Cotters, are recently retired and able to enjoy more time in this special area. One of my favorite things to do on the property is to read a book in the hammock out on the point where at certain times of the day I can become distracted with wild life in and over the pond. Our 595 feet of waterfront is in view from this point. We want to share this experience with others who value the cottage and its surroundings.
Kathleen Cotter purchased this Cottage in 2002
Why Kathleen Cotter chose Eastbrook
Our property gives us the best of both world's of Maine - the quiet pond with a big mixed evergreen woods with the bonus of salt water and Acadia National Park on MDI and Schoodic, a short distance away . We constantly enjoy the diversity of our location. We also love the privacy. Only one up-scale cottage recently built about 350 feet away with woods between.
What makes this Cottage unique
Although we are down a camp road and seem away from it all, there is a small convenience store next to the camp road entrance on the main road. We enjoy great blue berry pancake breakfasts there. We can also buy milk, bread, newspaper, lunch, suppers and Friday night pizza. We can walk up with our kids for ice cream. We also use our camp roads for exercise. It is a good start for the day.

Beautiful property on a quiet lake
We had a great late summer vacation week here. The house and property are beautiful, it’s obvious that it is a special place for the homeowners by how they care for it. We especially appreciated the private beach area with a big shallow sandy area, perfect for keeping our young kids busy all day.
We had an amazing stay. I've never felt so comfortable in a vacation rental, ever. The home was spotless and everything was there, clean and ready to go. Everything was of great quality and in great condition. It truly felt like we were staying in someone's home, not just renting a house. Having kayaks, life jackets, shoes, towels, sheets and paper goods on hand was so helpful and really minimized the packing. The property was super clean and very well maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - THANK YOU!
Great combination of Peace & Fun!
What a find! Our trip ended down a little gravel road when we arrived at this beautiful house on a lake, where the silence was incredible. The house was not just clean-- it was perfectly furnished & beautiful & ready for us, with a bright & rustic Maine feel but also a lot of comfort & class. The kids loved the adventure of the pond-- swimming out to the swimming rock, making sand castles, taking family kayak trips across the lake to find the baby loon in the late afternoon, and building fairy houses. The grown-ups loved the comfort of the house-- early morning coffee on the screen porch, a good soak in the hot tub, and late afternoon cocktails on the porch that looks out on the water through the evergreens. We all loved picking blueberries for blueberry pie, walking to the general store (the only store in town!) for pancake breakfast, and exploring the art galleries in Franklin the next town over. This is a great launching place, so you can stay at home and enjoy quiet Maine on the pond, or jump in the car and be at Acadia for the day or even half a day. Kathleen has taken great care to make sure guests are taken care of, leaving little notes around with hints & instructions, and a huge organized pile of information on all the outings you can take-- and before the trip was great with answering our many questions quickly & thoughtfully. It's clear she loves this house & property and wants renters to love it as much as she does, so she puts a lot into it. We feel so lucky to have found this place and will certainly be back!
