This spacious lake front home sits on the shores of Lake Brownwood in Brownwood, TX. It has room to sleep 10 comfortably. The large back porch area is shaded by tall oak trees and is just a stones throw away from the waterfront. There is a boat dock for you to tie off any watercraft you may bring with you. There is plenty of room to fish or just float your cares away. The city of Brownwood is a short drive away, in case you want to go exploring or you need to run and grab that one item you forgot. The public boat ramp is located less than 1/4 mile away for ease in launching any watercraft you may bring with you. There is ample parking for all guests. For those wishing to exercise their legs by walking, the neighborhood surrounding the home provides a wonderful space to do so.
There is Wi-Fi and a small office space is set-up in the master bedroom for those needing to work remotely or just “check-in” with the office while on vacation.
There is a pool table and air hockey game in the games room for those who need a break from the sun.

This is the best place we’ve ever stayed! Our family spent Christmas together. The home was decorated beautifully. The pool table was the highlight of the stay. We had a family tournament. We had a great time sharing Thanksgiving with our son and some friends. Our son loves to play pool that is the main reason we rented the house. He beat everyone, of course. He arrived at the house before we did. Before giving us a hug he said “Mom, this place had a pool table. it went to fast. We loved it. The bed was wonderful and the view was gorgeous.

Great location, even though the lake was at about 70% full still deep enough for our boat and the kids to jump off the dock about 2Oft deep. House had everything we need. Great patio and comfortable beds. We all slept great. One of our favorite rentals we’ve had so far on this lake.

Family reunion

We come here every year at the end of July and have tried several different spots. This one knocked our socks off! We already reached out to the owner to see if we can just rent it every year! They had games for the kids, great fishing at the dock and plenty of room for all 9 of us to sleep comfortably. The bed we slept in was dreamy. We are thinking of replacing our bed at home now! The place was quiet and relaxing. I highly recommend this place and will tell everyone about it!

We enjoyed the property immensely — had family from the area and Austin, Amarillo, Georgia, — great location for dock fishing, a cookout, boating (my cousin has a place on McCartney Island and a pontoon boat) and swimming, etc. The only things we missed were consistent cell service (we missed some calls), an internet connection (my sister needed to do a zoom call), and ESPN channel on TV (got the car races). We would rent again!! Thanks so much!!!

Wonderful place!

Very spacious home that had all amenities. Location was amazing- near the dam so not a lot of traffic, which was great when we were in the water swimming. Water level was low, but we were still able to jump off the top deck and not touch! Back porch is amazing with so much seating! And the floating dock is so close! (So much closer than the pictures seem- which was great!). Overall, absolutely amazing and would definitely return! The Host, Melissa, was also so great! So quick to respond and answer any questions!

Great house!

Check in and check out procedures were very easy. Older house but very well maintained. The yard is beautiful and the lake view is as well. Large dock that is great to swim and fish from. Beds and pillows were very comfortable which is always iffy when staying in a new place. The kitchen and bathrooms are well stocked with all the necessities. Great location and close to a marina which has a restaurant and bar. My only complaint is the amount of spider webs on the back porch and dock. We had to knock them down to move around the dock and to sit on the furniture on the patio. However, not a huge deal and will definitely not keep us from renting here again! Fun getaway!

March Madness

We had a wonderful time. The house had everything you could think of. The weather didn’t cooperate the first night but between the tv, pool table and games we still had a great time. The fishing was great and would recommend to anyone wanting somewhere to getaway and have a great time.

This home was purchased in 2008 by "Meme and Papa Hoyer" as a place for the family to gather. Through the years the family has shared many treasured times here with our favorite being our annual 4th of July gatherings. As the family has grown and moved away, we found that we wanted to open up our "happy place" to others and their families so that they might create some memories of their own.

Why they chose this property

This property was chosen because of its location to Goldthwaite (the city where Meme and Papa Hoyer resided) and nearness to the city of Brownwood. The home was large enough for their two sons and their ever expanding families. The boat dock rests in a deep water cove and has always had water even during some of the longest droughts in the area.

What makes this property unique

The home boasts easy access to the city of Brownwood. It has a large driveway to accommodate a large number of cars. It's location near the public boat ramp makes it easy to launch personal watercraft.
