On the south side of the Swiss-German speaking Oberwallis alps. Eischoll is at 1220 meters. Paired together with Unterbaech and Buerchen. Eischoll makes up the Augstbord region with 5 village resorts and 90km of skiing & 100's km walking & biking. Chair lift 5 mins walk away. Much quieter than large busy resorts. It is famed for no waiting times at the lifts and is an area the Swiss themselves use. In such a central location that all the large resorts and Valais tourist locations can be enjoyed by train, bus or car, Crans,Zermatt,Saas-Fee & more!
Fully furnished, very suitable as a family or couples holiday.The apartment is situated in the centre of the village. Large bedroom with double bed, loft mezzanine with 2 beds and space for 2 adults, large bathroom, bath, shower, WC. We can accomodate young children with parents in the main bedroom. We also have a Hauck travel cot for babies and toddlers. Central heating in the apartment always warm. Heating and electricity are included in the price. Large living room, dining area, L shape Sofa.Free Wifi. 26' LCDTV, DVD TV/SAT/Freeview. Parking is free in the car park across the street. Apartment is on the top floor of 3 story chalet with only 16 apartments. Spacious with Mirriored Kitchen so the mountains are reflected back into the apartment. Large balcony with table and chairs, morning and evening sun. Fantastic views of the north Rhone Alps from the apartment and the balcony! Large balcony doors and windows show the famous Bietschhorn Mountain peak with its glaciers.
In Summer Eischoll and the Ober-Wallis area really comes into its own. Snow capped peaks and amazing scenery along with superb warm weather! Plenty of walking and hiking trails and also mountain biking on your doorstep and all over the area. Ski piste’s transform into summer meadows and fields amongst the alpine forests. There are lovely traditional Swiss mountain restaurants in the area. One just below the apartment. 2 others in Eischoll as well as 4 in neighbouring Unterbaech and many in Buerchen. There are also lovely restaurants up the mountain en route on the walking trails and on the ski piste's. They all cater in traditional Swiss dishes such as Raclette and Fondue. As well as gorgeous selections of other lesser known Swiss dishes. As you can imagine steaks on the mountain are a must. A Walliser Teller is something that must be tried. Dry meats and cheese always washed down with a Walliser Beer!
There is a bank and with ATM 5 mins walk. Post office, Pay phone, Cable car stop and Mini Supermarket across from the apartment. Ski and Snowsport Hire within walking distance. Within the complex is the Schwarzhorn bar/ restaurant with outside seating. Perfect on warm winter days. Tourist Office in Eischoll and neighbouring Unterbaech. They have information on the whole region. The tourist office has the details of everything and anything in the area and in the whole of Valais. Ski Passes can be bought at the lift. There is also plenty of free parking right opposite the apartment building. 200meters to nearest Chair lift which starts you on your skiing day around the mountains.
Visp, 15mins down the mountain, can cater for all other needs with shops and large supermarkets. Swimming pool complex, train stop for the Glacier Express. Miles and miles of Skiing, snowboarding, walking, hiking, mountain biking and much more in the surrounding area. Of course scenery and mountain air! These activities are what the region does best. 90km of Ski Piste, sledging runs and snow sport activities. Choose from 5 different villages to ski. The area really is set up for winter sports but you don't have to worry about crowds of people and you hardly every have to look over your shoulder on the piste's. Superb SwissSki ski instructors and ski school for kids and adults. Enroll kids for 5 day deals and adults too!
