Amy, thank you so much. You’re welcome to come again any time.
We had a fantastic week at the lake house! The home and amenities were fantastic, the waterfront was beautiful and the location couldn’t be beat! Our hosts were great communicators and we had such a wonderful time. We hope to return next year!
We had an amazing time staying in the Chin’s stunning home. We enjoyed fishing from the dock, exploring the lake and s’mores by the fire pit. Our dogs perhaps enjoyed their glimpse at life on a lake most of all. We hope to come back again next year!

James, thank you so much for your review. We're so glad that you and your family enjoyed yourselves and created some lifelong memories! Please come back soon!
The booking and check-in process was a breeze! Kristen was super helpful with any questions or needs we had during our stay. Every day we found another area to explore and make memories on the property. We loved the dock and spent most of our time there swimming or listening to the loons at sunset! We will definitely be back and hope to make this house our home for our annual trip to Maine each year.
My family has been staying on lake Cobbessconte for a summer fishing trip for many years. This is the first time we’ve stayed at this property , it was absolutely beautiful, the house was so spacious it didn’t even feel like they were six of us, and they graciously allowed our two for babies to stay with us as well. The property is beautiful we were able to bring our boat and dock it right out front. House was clean check in process with simple communication excellent, will definitely be back

Hi Debbie, we are SO happy that you enjoyed the place as much as we do.
Please come again anytime!! - The Chins
The Chin Family have a beautiful secluded home and it was perfect for our stay. Centrally located for relatives that live nearby to visit us. Especially great layout for our two dogs - they don't climb stairs so having an open floor plan on first floor where they could always be nearby was fantastic. Instructions were clear, amenities were abundant. We had a very relaxing stay. Rented a boat for the week we were there which was the cherry on top! Thank you for sharing your home with us.

We loved our staying at this beautiful home. The location is fabulous with views of the lake. Very tranquil place. The house is perfect to spend time indoors or outdoor. Spacious and beautifully designed. Full of light. The sunset light is enchanting. The house is very well equipped with anything you need. We swam in the lake and enjoyed the sweet clean Maine air. The host, Kristen, was very efficient providing us with any info we requested. Thank you for sharing so gorgeous home with us.

We had a great time in the Chin house! The house was perfect for two families and two dogs! Very dog friendly! The owner and the property manager were very responsive and had great suggestions for things do to and places to eat! The house is private and secluded, but also close to local hiking trails, great restaurants, and ice cream shops! We loved being on the water and also being surrounded lush forest! The beds and air mattresses were comfortable, the kitchen was well-stocked for making family meals, and the surrounding grounds were great for adventures! We created many great memories! Can't wait to return!

Thank you so much, Peggy! We look forward to your return as well!
This was a great spot for our family to gather as a home base for our son’s Colby graduation (35min). The house was very nice and and the grounds were quiet and private. The peninsula and dock looked out on a beautiful lake which would be very fun to enjoy in the summer. Communications were perfect and the house really had everything we needed. A couple of small issues to keep in mind…no TV (not an issue for us at all but could be for some), the stairs are open and winding which proved to be quite challenging for our older family members (and dogs), there is only one shower, the deck needs some upkeep/repair (a few areas of rot). Overall we enjoyed our time at the Chin’s home and would recommend it.

Judy, thank you so much for the feedback - I appreciate the challenges with the place. We're actively working on some of them! Please come back anytime, you were a fabulous guest.
We have stayed at several homes on Lake Cobbosseecontee, and this one was definitely a cut above all the others. It is beautifully furnished and well equipped with anything you might need on a family vacation. The location is literally breathtaking. We would sit on the dock int the evening to watch the sunset, and saw no other human being or boats....just a beautiful lake and distant islands and herons and loons .The owner was available through messaging and always responded promptly. This house is very large, with comfortable beds, and huge windows that let in a great deal of natural light, so the seven of us didn't feel like we were tripping over each other. A very special place if you want to get away from the busyness of the world, yet accessible to delicious restaurants and supermarkets. This home is a gem!

Beautiful views - terrible experience
We had no hot water the duration of our stay even though a plumber came out on our 3rd day working on it for hours. We had to book hotels in order to shower. To make kt worse, the back deck is completely dry rotted. My chair leg fell through holes in the floor and to make it worse my husband stepped on a nail pertruding through a dry rotted board. There was also multiple outside / deck lights out. There is also a security camera on the property that was not disclosed in the description per VRBO policy. After an expensive ER visit and inconvenient hotel needs - this was a terrible experience impacting our vacation. We will not be back and just hope we are able to recover funds after this trip.

Dear Dyana, Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. I am truly sorry to hear about the issues you encountered during your stay. We sent the plumber the same day you notified us, and he fixed the hot water within a few hours. Regardless, I completely understand how frustrating and disruptive this must have been for you. We have already addressed your feedback to ensure that future guests have a safe and enjoyable experience. Thank you again for bringing these issues to my attention. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve and provide a better experience for our future guests.
Beautiful property with great secluded location. Because of the location, the property is very private. The pool table in the basement and the ping-pong table in the garage make this fun for the family even if the weather isn't great. All the rooms are very nice. Seating in the living room is odd and not very practical.
It appeared that we were the first to use the house for the season as the outside of the house needed to be cleaned (powerwashed or just leaf blower) as there were cobwebs everywhere. Also, some of the dishes and utensils needed another wash prior to using.
Master bath has only a tub (it is beautiful) with a hand sprayer. No shower. Shower in the hallway bathroom is very nice and big walk-in. Everyone just used this one, but it isn't convenient only having the one shower.
Overall a beautiful house in an awesome location. I gave it 4 overall stars due to the cleaning issues mentioned and couple of quirks with the layout and furniture.

Dear Barry,
Thanks for your kind comments and I am glad that you had a great time. About the dishwasher, we have been very dissatisfied with this brand new Samsung dishwasher that just doesn't do the job. We are thinking about replacing it. As for cobwebs and power-washing , we will pay attention to that. We also hope to build an outdoor shower in the near future. Seating arrangement in living room is being reconfigured. We try to make this place a creator of memories. Thanks again for choosing to stay with us, and we hope to see you and your family again in the future! -Kristen
Our family had a great time at the Chin's Lake House. The house inside was modern, the outside rustic which made it interesting. Inside the house it was fairly clean. We did need to go though 2 cabinets and bag food as it was left opened. This made us uncomfortable as there are a lot of ants in critters on the property. Otherwise the rest of the house was clean. The outside is rustic and in need of TLC but a typical Lake house with wear and tear. The Lake and dock were perfect as we are outdoor people. We rented Kayaks and really enjoyed our time on the lake. The beach area is very tiny probably 4 x 4 but good for two people to sit in chairs. We spent most of our time on the dock. We had a few hiccups but the Chin's rectified them very quickly. The location of this house is absolutely perfect! Very peaceful and secluded. We live in a very busy neighborhood so this was a nice break for us and our dogs. We did bring our own dog beds as all the floors are hard tile but there were dog beds there as well. We also brought a dog gate to put at the bottom of the stairs as the stairs are slippery wood and very steep for older dogs. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Thank you Chin family for sharing your house with us!!!!
Beautiful property, with boat dock, garden, woods, mini beach, and easy access to civilization. Furniture and fixtures generally a higher level of quality than I would expect in a lake house rental. Gorgeous views from giant windows, crazy high ceilings with beautiful light. Giant dining table, nice deck setup, comfortable beds, everything we needed could be found in the kitchen (including a coffee grinder!). Excellent overall value.
A few small caveats: at the time we stayed there was no TV on site. Also there was no a/c, which normally would not be an issue in Maine but we had a few very hot (90 degree!) days and nights, late August. A few more fans would have improved this. (Check the listing as this may change, it appears it was still being set up when we stayed?). I'd also love to see a bit more comfortable couch-type seating - the living room couches were nice, but space was a bit tight with 2 families of 4.
The bedrooms and bathrooms are gorgeous. Tons and tons of books to read. 2 giant easy-inflate queen sized air mattresses & bedding were available in addition to the 3 queen beds.
We rented a boat from Beacon Boat Rental nearby with waterskis & tube. The lake was warm, lovely, clear, and lots of fun to swim in. Very relaxing.

Rachel, thank you so much for the wonderful review. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay and we hope to see you again in the future!
I'm the oldest of three and a soon-to-be-married salesperson, real estate investor, and filmmaker who loves spending her summers in Maine and sharing my family's second home with visitors from all over.
Why they chose this property
Our home is super secluded! We own the entire peninsula on an offshoot of Lake Cobbosseecontee, which is nice and quiet. It's perfect for swimming and boating.
What makes this property unique
We come to the house frequently, so the house is well-stocked with amenities and supplies - especially the kitchen!
