This was a great place to stay! It had everything we needed for our weekend trip to VT. Beautiful spot, cozy, clean, comfortable, and easy communication!
Quiet road, and close to hiking trails. Comfortable, well-appointed space. Would stay here again just to sit on the deck over the brook. Feels like being in a tree house.
This was our first visit to Vermont, I would highly reccomend any of the Notch Lodges. Everything was just as pictured and described. The manager communicated extremely well the entire time. Private, quiet, clean, comfortable, and relaxing. We will be back!!
We loved staying at the cozy mountain chalet. It was spotless with a well equipped kitchen. We chose to stay in one night to cook a meal and enjoy the beautiful view while dining at the cabin. We would stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay at the chalet! It was comfortable and relaxing! Maude gave us lots of activity and food suggestions which we loved!! We could hear the creek even in the house, it was a nice way to fall asleep! Thank you for a great stay!!
My wife and I enjoyed staying here. Nice location. The only thing is the stairs to go up to the bedrooms are really steep and narrow and were a little hard getting up and down. Also I wish the windows or doors would have screens so you can leave open to hear the stream but too many bugs.
My wife and I loved the Chalet. Great location - quiet and private - a beautiful stream running behind. A great back porch to sit and enjoy nature from.
Chalet was in great condition, well functioning TV, washer dryer, etc.
Maude and her husband live in the area and are very responsive to any issues that may arise.
Definitely would stay there again.
OK, I love Vermont, so maybe I'm a little biased on the subject. But Blue Jay's Blue Chalet was exactly what my wife and I needed for a getaway with our pups.We loved the setting! Being able to sit on the deck and hear the birds and the river is incredibly relaxing, and it feels very private. Though the location might seem a bit out of the way, it's actually convenient to just about everything. An hour from downtown Burlington, an hour from Stowe and Waterbury, an hour from Hill Farmstead (the best brewery in the world). Great food and beer less than a mile away and plenty of local markets for groceries. It rained a bit more than usual for the season, so we appreciated the living room and TV for the evenings when we weren't outdoors. Being dog friendly enabled our whole family to vacation together!
This is my second season staying in the blue chalet and truly 5/5 stars. From accurate description, easy booking, easy check-in, to a cozy stay for me and my pup, we love this place! Maude gives you all the details, the chalet is clean and well equipped with kitchen, bath, laundry and entertainment (games, puzzles). Thank you for another wonderful season, see you next year!
Absolutely lovely chalet in a tucked away location yet close to outdoor activities. Very clean and comfortable. Beautiful backyard area with stream. Quick responses from Maude. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. Comfortably fit myself, my partner, and my brother. Will love to stay again in near future!
This cabin has everything needed for a private stay in the Smuggler’s Notch area. The sleeping loft has very steep stairs so not recommended for those with physical challenges. The cabin is situate above a mountain stream that sounds great from the deck. It’s proximity to smuggler’s resort made it good for us to meet up with relatives staying on the resort and go out to explore the local area.
We rented this beautiful cabin for four nights at the end of August for a couple getaway, and it did not disappoint! While just off the main road, it is tranquil and private with the sounds of the stream as gentle background noise. The furnishings are minimalist but the kitchen is fully equipped. Everything you need is provided - just stop off in town for groceries on the way in and you're good to go. The stairwell is fairly steep and narrow but the bannister is solid. There's a bit of a musty smell which is not entirely surprising given the rainforest-like location. All in all, a fantastic choice and one we'll likely book again in the future!
Our family of 4 adults and our dog stayed for 2 nights. House is nice, equipped with kichenware, washer/dryer, coffee maker, AC in main bedroom. Narrow, steep stairs to loft with 2 bedrooms, no door in between rooms. One has queen bed and the other is a day bed with trundle. Trundle bed low to floor was not ideal for adult but we did ok. Loved the brook in backyard with adirondack chairs and firepit. Keep in mind check in time not till 430pm and check out is at 1030am. Close to Smuggs and Stowe if you go thru the notch. We'd love to come back.
We enjoyed our stay in this cute cabin. Very close to Smugglers Notch. Right on the creek- so nice to hear it running when we were outside.
We didn't spend a ton of time out there due to mosquitos. So bring some big spray.
Great spot for 2 people. I would not recommend any more than 2. No bedroom doors. Also the stairs are very narrow and steep. And then bathroom is downstairs. We tried very hard not to go to the bathroom at night- didn't feel safe.
Communication with the owner was fantastic. Very quick to respond.

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour près des pentes de ski. Le chalet est confortable et l’emplacement près de la rivière est magnifique. Nous avons apprécié la facilité de communiquer avec Maude et les belles randonnées sur les sentiers enneigées de la région.
We loved staying here! Feels secluded but not too far from Jeffersonville or Stowe. Loved the stream running behind the chalet. Would definitely stay here again.
This place is perfection. The beautiful creek behind the cottage is breathtaking, it’s a cozy little place in the woods. So nice and quiet. The inside is clean, beautiful, perfect for a family of four. The host is very responsive and kind. We will be back. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Adorable chalet! Owner was very efficient with getting back to me when I had questions and it was very clean and well kept. Smugglers was literally a 3 min drive! Small things to note when booking….The chalet is tiny. Our family of four (2 adults and 2 kids under 13) found it too tiny. The couches are two love seats and it was challenging for all of us to sit together. The TV is via Chromecast only so make sure you bring a device and know how to do that. Upstairs was hot and we’re from Florida. I’d definitely recommend a standing fan to help circulate air. We tried to use the portable AC/Heater but that didn’t seem to circulate any cold air. Other than that, it’s probably a perfect place for two people, maybe 3. Beautiful surroundings!
