Welcome to 'Sombrero Sunset House' located in the heart of Sombrero Beach in Marathon, Florida! This prime waterfront location provides our guests everything they need to have a fantastic vacation in the Florida Keys. This is truly the one of the best locations in Marathon and it screams location, location, location!!! We love this home and want to share our little slice of paradise with you. As you will see, we have a unique and affordable waterfront home with 7 bedrooms, 6 full bathrooms and plenty of room to accommodate multiple families or larger groups. Licensed to sleep up to 16 guests, there are 6 bedrooms with King beds and 1 bedroom with two Twin beds. Each bedroom has Smart flatscreen TVs, ample closet space and new dressers to store your personal items such as luggage and clothing.
This home was tastefully updated in October 2021. The updates included a new metal roof, new interior and exterior paint, completely new interior furniture, including all bedroom sets, living room (3 sofas) and dining room table with 8 seats, new tiki hut, privacy trees between the neighboring property, new pea gravel driveway, new artwork, new hurricane sliders, new stove, new washer and dryer, new patio furniture with seating for 16.
The list of positive attributes for this home are plentiful. Some of the amenities include a private pool, 110' waterfront with about 80 foot of private dockage, ample parking for 6 or more vehicles plus 2 boat trailers and a very large and spacious back yard. There is plenty of room for all of your vehicles, boats, water toys and trailers. Additionally, the back yard is completely fenced in for privacy and there is a lot of seating areas for our guests to spread out and enjoy the outdoors. There are long water views from the back yard and clear unobstructed views of the golf course from the front. And for those who like sand between their toes, Sombrero Beach is only minutes away.
Attached to the back of the home is a large enclosed screened patio with two outdoor tables and seating for 16. The back yard has a huge tiki hut with seating for 8, 4 lounge chairs, 8 Adirondack chairs, and 2 separate outdoor tables. Our guests can soak up the sun by the pool or sit inside the screened/shaded patio and enjoy the ocean breeze. The community is extremely safe and you can take morning or evening walks along the golf course’s pedestrian pathway out front. There is also a large balcony off two of the upstairs bedrooms boasting even more privacy and beautiful water views. At night, you can sit by the water, look at the stars and enjoy the peaceful serenity that this property has to offer.
The kitchen fully stocked with a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker utensils and cookware. Linens, bath towels and starter toiletries are provided along with a full-size washer and dryer.
If you play golf, all you need to do is walk out the front door onto one of the nicest golf courses in the Florida Keys. The golf facility also has multiple tennis courts and the City of Marathon has a free skate park nearby with basketball, baseball and tennis courts.
And let’s not forget the star of the show which is the ocean and water activities. For our boaters and fishermen, this home is only minutes away from the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. The fishing in Marathon is world class!!! From Mahi and Tuna to Sailfish and Grouper, the fishery is plentiful. You can fish, snorkel and dive within minutes of leaving the dock as the marine life and coral reefs are extraordinary. Manatees, snook, tarpon and even dolphins are often seen in the canal. Fishing off the dock is a ton of fun and the kids can catch fish all day long.
Further, there are many great waterfront restaurants in the immediate area along with creature comforts such as Publix, Walgreens, CVS, banks and gas stations. Additionally, this home is within minutes of several local attractions like the Dolphin Research Center, Aquarium Encounters, Turtle Hospital, Pigeon Key, the Seven Mile Bridge and Curry Hammock State Park.
For our adventurers, there are local Snorkel and Sunset cruise charters which take you to amazing nearby coral reefs such as Sombrero Light and Looe Key. Other local rental shops include kayaks, paddle boards, and bicycles.
