Cozy living, dining and kitchen area with hardwood floors in the heart of "Franklin House" historic railroad boutique hotel. The "apARTment" features an open plan living/dining & kitchen. The bedroom and bath are completely private. The living room features a convertible couch that makes into a full size bed. Accessible through the lobby or via your own private entrance from the back parking lot. This space is quiet and set apart from the other 9 guest rooms. Central heat/air. Ensuite bath has walk-in shower. Charming common areas to enjoy as well are gracious lobby, banquet room (when not in use for special occasions), courtyard and parking lot in rear of building. Walk to three good restaurants, two boutique shops, the Vintage Texaco and the Cowan Railroad Museum! In house Cafe for special orders. The railroad town of Cowan is the real small town America deal!

The convenient location is close to Sewanee and the University of the South as well as the Caverns music venue in Pelham. Four distilleries, including Jack Daniels are close-by. Hiking, biking & boating opportunities abound between the beautiful Cumberland Plateau and Tims Ford Lake in Winchester. Winchester town square includes the vintage Oldham theater and several restaurants and shops. -So much exploring to do…Falls Mill historic textile Mill in Belvidere is another gem.

Chattanooga and Huntsville are 40 miles away. Nashville is 96 miles.

I am a mixed media painter who also also enjoys 'mixing it up' with hospitality, The General Manager, Tom Buck is present to make all guests feel welcome and content during their stay. Tom and I are both from Ormond Beach, Florida. You can see my art and that of my colleagues throughout the hotel and on my website, iamartrachel.com. My mother, Mildred Caperton grew up in Winchester and Cowan. My father, Lawrence Thompson attended Sewanee and graduated in 1935. I still have relatives in the area and now they've adopted Tom too!
