We had a wonderful time staying at Villa 8 Regiones. The location is terrific, on a quiet street in a very fun neighborhood. The house was very comfortable for 4 people, and although we didn't cook much, the kitchen is well stocked. Maria and Leo, the on-site support staff, were very responsive to any questions or concerns. Highly recommended.
Fantastic location, great rooftop with a view. Traditional Oaxacan decor, comfy beds. For shorter stays, the small kitchen is probably fine. Can be noisy during some months.. but hey, there’s also a washing machine!
Great house, lots of room, very good for a family or just a couple. Perfect distance from the Zocolo, and only a couple blocks south of a new restaurant area. Quiet at night and a coffee shop right next for the morning. The owners are on top of everything. Highly recommend this place.
Roberto’s beautiful home was the perfect spot for us to enjoy Oaxaca. The neighborhood was quaint and had everything we needed. Easy walking distance to Zocalo and other attractions. Roberto and his cousins Leo were very attentive and easily accessible when needed.
Very large house with multiple areas for people to relax. The furniture in the living room is not very comfortable. The large dining room table was very nice for when we ate in. The neighborhood is great.
The property was very clean and nicely decorated, the private rooftop was so nice to have. Location was perfect and was very walkable to where we wanted to go in the city yet away from the louder streets. I really enjoyed the neighborhood of Jalatlaco and there was an organic coffee shop and store right next door. Roberto was very responsive, friendly, accommodating and professional and even offered a pickup to the stay. The driver Leo was also the sweetest and so helpful. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone going to Oaxaca.
If you watch the Instagram video, the place is exactly as you see it. Wonderful property in a great quiet and artsy neighborhood. Walking distance to great restaurants, art galleries, etc. About 20 minutes to the Zocala area. Besides restaurants there are little 'kitchens' selling memelas etc right out of their kitchen - try them!! The house is clean, has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (all with toilet and shower). There is also an office with trundle bed. Fully equipped kitchen with full size fridge... (but why cook? The area is surrounded by amazing food!) The rooftop lounge area was fantastic for an evening nightcap, or to enjoy some local coffee and pastries. Besides the wonderful stay, I forgot my cell phone when we left! The owner arranged for our friends to pick it up the next day!!! Oaxacan hospitality at it's best! Thank you!
We recently finished a 5 night stay at Villa 8 Regiones. Here's the breakdown...
First the good. The property was tidy and fairly well maintained. Location is in a good/safe neighborhood, and is basically a 15-20 minute walk from most of downtown Oaxaca. The neighborhood, Jalatlaco, has a couple of very nice areas with cafes, restaurants, etc. Felt safe walking around in the evenings.
The bad... While the property is clean, it does have a significant amount of large ants that will come in through any opening or window. There is no AC, so you obviously need to keep the windows open. My biggest complaint, is that they provide only one towel per person for the entire stay. The washing machine is out of order, so we had no way to clean the towels. We reached out the the property manager, and were told that there would be an extra charge for more towels. This is a first, and for that reason alone, I would not rent here again.
Our month-long stay with 2 adults and 4 children all under age 11 was nothing short of spectacular! The house is spacious and welcoming with very fun wall paintings. The rooftop patio was a highlight, offering interesting views of the city and surrounding hills. The beds were comfortable and the property was very clean. The fans in every room helped us to survive the heat wave in the absence of air conditioning.
Roberto was always very responsive. Maria and Leo, the caretakers, were kind and attentive, providing valuable local insights and quickly meeting our various requests. Any items we needed were quickly provided and any issues addressed.
Exploring the charming and quiet neighborhood of Jalatlaco, with its cobblestone streets, vibrant murals, and cozy cafés, was a real joy. We loved being able to walk to numerous restaurants, the beautiful local church, attractions, Spanish school and Mercado La Merced, where we sampled delicious local fare and bought our groceries and supplies for cooking in the small but well-appointed kitchen. We could easily walk downtown to most of the attractions Oaxaca has to offer. (It was about 10 minutes walking to Santo Domingo church and 20 minutes to the Zocalo.)
An unexpected delight was the fascinating alebrije workshop, where the kids took an alebrije painting class.
Overall, our time at this VRBO property was amazing! We would highly recommend this rental for any families visiting Oaxaca.
On recommande fortement.
The property was perfect for us, had lots of Oaxacan character and artisanal pieces. The kitchen was really well-equipped. And the neighborhood was great, loved the street art.
