Unit 2 has two private entrances. The main entrance can be accessed through the front door of the home towards the back of the lobby. The back entrance is through the Mansion’s laundry room, on the south side of the building. The laundry room door is closer to the parking, but the main entrance is a bit more “grand” – feel free to use either.

Please respect and take care of the home during your stay. Much of it is original and cannot be replaced.
As much of it is original please expect some creaking floors and other noises and sights that come with a home that’s well over 100 years old. We think it adds to the appeal! But not everyone may think the same way so, just a heads up 😊.
Parking is first come first serve and is limited to 1 vehicle per unit. There is an upper level parking lot accessed via the private road immediately to the south of the building, and a smaller lower level parking lot on the same level as the building. Street parking is also available.
The location is amazing - just 2 short blocks from the square! However, like any other hotels or stays that are near a city center there may be some noise (mostly passing traffic) to deal with. The south side and lower floor rooms (1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 2B) are quieter. And the ones closest to Gurley St (4, 7, 1B) are slightly noisier. Some guests notice it, others don’t, but we thought it deserved at least a mention to consider when booking.
All rooms have at least 1 portable A/C unit for those summer months when it can get a little warm. The larger units have 2 in them. There are fans in each room as well. For the winter months there is a boiler system that generates heat for the house and all rooms.
All TV’s are subscribed to Hulu Live TV which includes 75+ channels and all Hulu content. Other streaming apps are installed but depending on the service you may need to login to them using your own account info to access content. Please log out of them before leaving to prevent the use of your account by others.
All guests have access to the common areas of the home as well as the outside common areas. While you are free to explore the inside of the Mansion please be considerate of other guests that may be staying and do your best not to disturb them, including keeping noise down to a reasonable level.
There is a shared laundry room on the south side of the building. Laundry supplies are not provided but there are 2 washers and 2 dryers available for use if you provide your own.
A commercial water softener is connected to the house. Its still not advisable to drink directly from the faucet but the showers and linens should feel nice! Enjoy!
Please read the Guest book in the unit for more details on the Mansion, it’s unique history, important house rules, and other useful info.

Host responded immediately to my questions andrequests. It is a very lovely place, my 2nd stay here. Next year if I come I will need to learn how the heat works. Thanks for a great stay. I am now checking out.
Almost everything was great...location , early check in, ease of check in, amenities on property, contacting the owners ......the only slight issue was a dirty shower ... didn't look clean from the previous renter (minor oversight i'm sure)other wise would definitely book again
Overall our stay was good. The property manager was great to work with & responded very quickly with any questions we had. Access in & out of the mansion was easy. The history of the mansion was so interesting. The woodwork & stained glass was so beautiful! When the 9 rooms of the mansion are full like when we stayed there parking was tight at times. For us the mattress & pillows were not comfortable but everyone has their own preference. Great location- right up the hill from downtown- walking distance.
We stayed in the Grand Suite which was very spacious! There is a kitchen, dining room, living room, bathroom and bedroom. Note that the bathroom is not ensuite, so this is good if someone is staying on the sofa couch. Very historic house. Only two blocks to Whiskey Row!
Beautiful Victorian home with lots of history and creature comforts. Proximity to the event, historic Prescott and whiskey row is stellar! Left car parked for 3 days, walked and hiked everywhere.

The Mansion has "old world charm " and an interesting history. That being said, the stand-alone air conditioners are so loud that we couldn't sleep. We had paid for a 3 night stay but left after 2 nights as it was intolerable. There is no ice machine in the building, and the water is non-potable.It was a very disappointing experience. The situation was reported to the property manager.
The best part of staying at this property was that it was within walking distance to downtown. The mansion is old and there was a lot of creaking of the floors. The owner had been up front about the noise so we had expected that. The pull out bed was somewhat dirty. Unfortunately, some of the other guests made our stay a little less than pleasant.
This was a treat. I’m a history buff so staying at the Gage/Murphey house was great. There are a few things that could improve and take it to a luxe accommodation which I would gladly have paid double for…like cotton bedding and a mattress pad instead of polyester sheets, a couple of hooks on the bathroom wall so clothes or towels drying did not end up on the spotless floor or toilet. More than one single use shampoo/ conditioner for two women staying a week. Just small details. The bed is comfy but it’s a firm mattress. An optional egg crate memory foam topper would have made it paradise. I think what I really would have loved to see would be more history or historic artwork on the walls. The charm is magical. Will definitely consider staying again. The managers were very accommodating to our timeline but we never saw them. Finally I’m not a smoker but did see several other guests from other units standing in the street in the rain and sleet as no smoking is allowed anywhere on the property. I would designate a bench by the parking area or in the garden so they could be made to feel a modicum of hospitality.
A very large space with some great historical details, and centrally located near the square in Prescott. The bed was lumpy and so we ended up sleeping on the pull-out sofa since it was quite uncomfortable for us.
