Aloft Apartment - Above It All ... stay Not in a Box!
A full apartment in a convenient neighborhood, offering unusual design elements designed to make your visit to Eugene memorable, magical, and meaningful. It's a complete apartment, with a Murphy bed, bathroom, kitchenette, sitting and study spaces.
We love to design spaces that are not in a box. We want to give our guests an experience that is meaningful and memorable.
Let's start with the turret. 14 feet tall in the center, the eight-sided cedar-lined space has windows all around and a large skylight in the center. This opens out to the upstairs deck to catch the summer breeze (or smell the flowers or help yourself to the fresh herbs). Beneath is a covered deck, where we have our "spare" kitchen and full-size fridge.
From the turret, you pass through the triclinium, where the glass balusters give you unimpeded view of the trees and view to the south of the house. (We don't offer TV, but you won't miss it.)
Then there's the kitchenette, which has a few surprises of its own. (Don't make us tell you in advance.) All the basics you need are here: oven, microwave, stovetop, sink. The kitchenette includes a dorm-sized refrigerator. We keep it outside on your deck, behind a sliding copper door. (We don't like listening to refrigerators cycle and hum, so that's why we keep them outside. Weird, right?)
From there we move to the "bedroom" -- a full-size Murphy Bed that tucks into a windowed corner or folds up into a wall. That doubles as a partition from the rest of the space. Beside that is the bath, with a shower.

A super charming and whimsical space. Every view from every widow is uplifting and joyful. Don was very response when I had a question. Would highly recommend.
The interior of this special place was wonderful. With large wind chimes off the deck, and mirrored wind chimes reflecting light, as well as windows that fully opened for easy air exchange and natural light, I adored this place. Thoughtfully designed, comfortable bed and an oculus to top it all off!
Fun spot with great access to all Eugene has to offer! My daughter enjoyed exploring the loft and the slide so much.

Unique and beautiful place to stay. Conscientious host.
The place is very charming and unique. It felt like being in a fairy tale. Whimsical while also relaxing and peaceful. Neat architectural details. The yard is cute and the shady deck is great. The owners are kind and have thought of all the things one might need, and then added various thoughtful little touches to make the stay comfortable and memorable. Fantastic location near UofO, stores, restaurants, park and running trail, etc. Overall, it's a wonderful place and I highly recommend. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

The Treehouse
Cute and charming. Wish I could have stayed longer. Cool and breezy, a much appreciated respite from the Texas heat.
The upstairs hideaway suited us perfectly — character, creativity, lots of natural light and wood. The whole place is refreshingly unusual and full of personality. Quiet neighborhood, but an easy walk to Hideaway Bakery and Temple Beth Israel. (Might not be ideal for people who don’t know each other well—bathroom door only partially covers the door opening, and the bed is about 7 feet from the toilet. But that was no problem for us.)

Fancy Tree House
Unique and comfortable. Walking distance to grocery store. Quite.
It was a beautiful property and a very unique stay! I would not consider it dog-friendly - lots of stairs and the deer (while cool to admire as a human) were not interested in sharing the yard with my pup! I would also travel light due to the stairs. The host was more than helpful though, I would come back! Check in while the sun is still out, it gets dark fast!
I normally don’t put too much effort into reviews but I feel an obligation to my fellow travelers to be honest. This is an upstairs “studio” from where the owners live. The stairs lead to the owner’s living area. It is completely open and accessible to the downstairs main living area.
There is a shower door separating the bathroom from the bedroom providing no privacy. The bathroom was filthy upon arrival including “hairs” and dirt on the floor of the shower. The toilet had not been cleaned and showed signs of “use”. Don was receptive when I told him about the toilet. He offered to clean it. Instead we asked for some cleaning supplies which he provided.
The towel rack came off the wall when I tried to hang a towel.
There are no window coverings at all. If you are a light sleeper, you will be woken up by light.
The yard is interesting with a pond and ample foliage but it is overgrown and not very comfortable. I would not sit out there.
This place is not worth the $300 a night we paid.
