Cowpet Bay West Villa - Beachfront Villa with Breathtaking Views

On the southeastern end of St. Thomas, lies the private beach of Cowpet Bay. Our villa is surrounded by lush tropical plantings and has an expansive view of the surrounding sapphire seas and neighboring islands. Happily, our property has a generator that keeps our lights and systems running when St. Thomas' power falters.

Whether you are looking for an intimate island hideaway or a well-situated home base from which to go forth on adventures and exotic explorations, our Cowpet villa is for you. Cowpet's beach offers swimming, snorkeling, sunfish rentals, and kayaking. Chairs and chaise lounges are provided, along with plenty of sun or shade under the palm trees lining the beach.

Our newly renovated villa is spacious for a couple, roomy for two couples, or well suited for a family of four. The view is sensational! A seaside gallery provides an open-air covered balcony with both outdoor dining and comfortable seating from which to gaze out to the scattered islands of St. James, St. John, and Tortola. The British Islands are our neighbors and water taxi services, rental boats, or ferries can easily transport you to their nearby shores.

Cowpet Bay is conveniently located within walking distance to the Caribbean Fish Market, an open-air restaurant on the beach serving dinner nightly and Sunday Brunch and to Sangria's beach cafe, serving breakfast, lunch and pizza from 6pm-8pm. The elegant resort hotel, The Ritz Carlton, is also within walking distance. Dining reservations can be made for restaurants at the Ritz Carlton. The nearby town of Red Hook is minutes away by car where fishing charters, boat rentals, restaurants, bars, and markets provide access to every amenity. Catch the local ferry departing from the Red Hook dock for a day or evening of fun on St. John.

In downtown St. Thomas, the town of Charlotte Amalie located along the waterfront, provides exciting shopping where duty-free status affords remarkable pricing for bargain hunters of the finest names in jewelry, watches, cameras, clothing, and more.

If you want to visit the ST. Thomas Yacht club, definitely stay here. Short walk to the basin, and lovely beach to play at. Owners are the best!

The location and the view make you feel like you're in paradise. The apartment is beautiful, spacious, clean, and superbly equipped. Communication with the owner was very fluid, and she provided us with all the necessary information to have a fantastic vacation.The complex is very convenient, with a private beach, pool, and restaurants. Cowpet Bay West Villa

The condo worked perfect for our trip. We had 2 couples. There are two nice bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The patio had a beautiful view. The beach was very nice and quiet. Plenty of chairs for everyone. Location was great. There are a few steps to climb to get to the beach but this is not something that would change my decision to stay here. It’s a great place to stay.

Great location with amazing views!

Carla’s place was perfect for our party which included 2 couples in our 60’s. It has 2 nice size bedrooms each with a bathroom/shower. When we weren’t out exploring St. Thomas we were sitting on the lanai enjoying the beautiful views, or dining al fresco. The condo is furnished w/ everything you could possible need or want! The location was great, 5 minute drive to many restaurants in Red Hook, Moe’s grocery store and the ferry to St. John. We rented a jeep and were happy to have a designated parking spot. We loved our time in St Thomas and our home for the week. We would definitely book this condo again!!

St Thomas vacation

Ocean view from the balcony was awesome. We slept with the balcony doors open. The breeze and sound of the ocean made for very restful and relaxing sleep. Great location - very conveniently located to Red Hook for excursions over to St. John where we took in carnival, Trunk Bay Beach (fantastic!) and Maho Bay Beach. The beach proximate to the property is cool, with an adjacent beachfront eatery with great breakfast, but definitely enjoyed Lindbergh Bay Beach (so much fun!) and Magens Bay Beach. There were wonderful places we ate like Greengo’s, but the best was a locals spot named Brook’s Bar & Restaurant on Magens Road. Great overall experience!

Spacious Condo with Beautiful Views

Communication with the owner was great, and check-in/check-out was extremely easy. The condo is in Cowpet Bay, which is a perfect location for quick access to Red Hook restaurants and the ferry, Compass Point Marina for boat charters, and the beautiful beaches on the north side of the island, including Lynquist and Magen's Bay. The unit has two good sized bedrooms and two full bathrooms, a stocked galley kitchen, and a spacious balcony, on which we had breakfast each morning, looking out over the ocean. For a quick bite without driving, the Caribbean Fish Market is down at the beach. Overall, we had a great trip and this property was a great home base. (The permanent neighbor downstairs is very nice and friendly too, which is a plus.)

Great view!

The condo is at a great location with a wonderful ocean view. The sun shines onto the balcony in the morning and are in the shades for the rest of day overlookinging the beautiful bay. The beach is right down the stairs in the same area. It is very convenient. There is a great restaurant (caribbean fish market) right downstairs as well. You can also rent boating equipment at the beach, so it was great for the children and family. The communication was simple and straight forward. The house has plenty rooms for everyone. We did not know about the sun bugs here, they are quite aggressive, so spraying bug spray is a must. We would come back anytime.

We came in for a wedding over at the Ritz and had a fantastic experience at this property. Carla was very attentive and even assisted with an extra night’s stay due to the tropical storm. Beach was nearby with a couple great restaurants. 10/10 stay.

Amazing view and location

This condo is in a great location and has an amazing beach. Snorkeling off the beach is some of the best in St. Thomas. The views from the patio were incredible. The restaurants in walking distance (Caribbean fish market and sangrias) were also really good. The condo is a nice lay out for 2 couples or a family of four. It has most of everything you could need. The furniture is a bit dated but we honestly weren’t using it much since we were out all day. I will say the walk down to beach and pool can be difficult if you are over 65 years old. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks for the great place and service Carla!,,

Great place to stay

The property is located in a plush garden setting with trees and flowers all around. It is easy to find and is a short distance to Red Hook, with grocery stores, shops, restaurants, and gas stations nearby. It has a great view of the harbor and is a short walk down past villas to the beach. There are free chairs on the beach for use by resort guests and renters of the villas. The place is stocked well and feels homey, with just about anything you might need: books, cards, games, DVDs, kitchen utensils, plastic containers, sandwich bags, beach towels, beach bag, a cooler, sunscreen, insect repellant and first aid. Marcella, the housekeeper, came one day to check on us, see if we wanted services and if we needed anything. No problems really -no electricity outages or water problems. The two separate bathrooms with the bedrooms were nice and the place was a good size for 4 people. The balcony, also, was super nice with a table and plenty of chairs. Overall a great stay in St. Thomas!

Fantastic Location and Great Beaches July 12-19 2021

The view from the balcony is incredible, spent hours watching the sail boats and birds in the AM. Large Bed rooms ! The location is great: 5 min drive to Redhook, and our best restaurant was the Easterly in Redhook. The Twisted Cork was also great but a 30 min drive when we went back to town for shopping. Sunset Grill and Caribbean Fill Market 5 min drives also very good , excellent service and seafood. Beach access was fantastic as Megans Bay, Coki Beach and Sapphire beach are all short 10-15 min drives. The Ferry ride to St Johns is a 7 min drive ( Trunk Bay ) . Local beach is very easy to get to, just walk down or drive down and park in Guest Parking slots they were always open and pick any chair or lounger you want in the sun or the shade of the palm trees. Carla was great Host , we will be back for sure !! Miss it already ! Bob L

Good location, very close to Red Hook for restaurants, shops. Unit was very clean, could be updated but overall a reasonable place to stay. Lots of steps, to car and to beach. Beautiful view.

The property is beautiful and the views are spectacular! Carla was easily reachable before we arrived. The unit had everything we needed. Close proximity to restaurants. The beach was great; chairs were available. Parking was great. We’re actually heading back in November we loved it so much!

The location of this condo is fantastic and it has one of the best views in the Caribbean. The condo is spacious and comfy and the deck is perfect for Happy Hour! Owners Carla and Mike were super responsive on everything.

We love coming to St. Thomas for a bit of down time of fun, sun and relaxation. In addition to our own fabulous beach, our favorite places include near-by Lindquist Bay, a day at Magens Bay, the beautiful beaches in St. John and a fun-filled day of island hopping and snorkeling by boat which can be chartered by the half or full-day.

Why they chose this property

Our family has owned our place in St. Thomas since its construction in the late 1960s. Three generations have enjoyed our home away from home.

What makes this property unique

Cowpet Bay offers a beautiful beach with chairs and chaise lounges provided along with plenty of shade under graceful palm and grape trees. You'll also find full restaurant service either at the casual Sangria's restaurant or fine dining and brunch at the Carribean Fish Market. A beach bar provides daytime refreshments, as well. Red Hook is a few minutes' drive away for more dining and shopping options. The ferry service to St. John is located at Red Hook making for an easy trip either via passenger or car ferry.
