About this property

We are a 20 Acre old tobacco farm with a private gorge located 15 minutes from the North entrance of Red River Gorge. We are only 1.5 miles from Sheltowee trace and 20 minutes from Cloudsplitter, Indian Staircase, and Jump Rock! Come relax and get away from it all in this 2,000 sq ft creekside home. The barn in the backyard is the entry way to the trail that leads you down to the creek and waterfall or through the forest and up to the top of the hill where you will find over an acre of clearing perfect for bonfires and stargazing. This modern cabin has a large eat in kitchen for 10 and is fully stocked with all your pots and pans as well as plenty of plates and utensils to spare. The two main bedrooms each have a queen bed and a sofa sleeper perfect for kiddos. The middle bedroom is great for kids with a couch, a smart TV, Wi-Fi, and bunk beds with a third pull out bunk on the bottom! The living room has a full size pull out couch for additional sleeping area. There are 3 decks and a large patio at the back with a 8 Adirondack chairs, a fire pit and a grill. There is a play set for kids directly out back plus an outdoor dining table for dining al fresco! If you are looking for more camp vibes or want extra people to join your group check us out on Hipcamp! occasionally there may be folks camping up on the hilltop. You might see them if you venture to the hilltop camping area or on the trail. They are instructed not to be in your private area from the barn to the house. Feel free to explore all 20 acres! Want to rent the entire property out including the house, vintage camper and camp sites? Talk to us about your groups needs! We have outdoor security cameras for added safety. Just like in the gorge there are dangerous drop offs on our property. we have done our best to mark them but not all are marked. Children must be supervised at all times. Its a beautiful property and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do! All photos were taken right here on our property. Please note, we participate in NO MOW MAY This helps preserve crucial pollinator habitats. We will start mowing again when the wild flowers die back around the first week in June. EXTRA GUEST FEE: this platform breaks down the extra guest fee at check out. While our cabin sleeps up to 10 people, it will cost more for a booking of 10 then a booking for 2. This helps cover cleaning, linens, and utilities for larger groups.

The home and property were fun, eclectic, and unique. The host was very responsive. We appreciated the artsy feel of the home and the natural feel of the property.
The whole family enjoyed our stay from cabin to the outdoors. The host was amazing answering our questions and very friendly. We all cant wait to come back when its warmer.
Not a single complaint. From check-in, to exploring the property, and checking out, everything was seamless. Our second stay here was another great time and we look forward to our third stay.
We enjoyed our stay at Shasta Valley. It has a nice large kitchen that is well stocked for cooking your own meals. The bed we slept in was comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the large porches, it was very peaceful and quiet. The owner was very responsive. Great wifi, no issues there. We would stay here again. We were surprised by the pet fee as that was not in the listing.
The property was beautiful! The trails were great and the clearing with the outdoor kitchen was really cool. My 8yr old loved playing in the creek and catching lightening bugs! The host was great and responded promptly to a couple questions we had. The house was clean and well stocked. The only minor downside was hearing traffic. Not enough to impact our stay and would absolutely stay here again. One of the bad reviews I read was about a smell in the house. It’s an old farmhouse but it is in good repair and very clean. The smell mentioned is just the smell of an old country home (like my Grandma’s) not something wrong with the place. I highly recommend!!
Great place! The house easily accommodated the 6 of us, and the property was gorgeous. The host was very responsive, and the kitchen was well equipped for making meals!
Everything was immaculate and our stay was so peaceful and relaxing. If you want peace and quiet, this is the place to go. There is so much room and the property is very well-cared for. We very much enjoyed taking a walk around the property. There is an incline on the way to the waterfall area, which isn't extreme, but will be easier to navigate with some traction on your shoes. If you do, you are rewarded with a truly beautiful and tranquil space to sit and listen to the water. I really didn't want to leave! The tub in the master bath is gigantic and excellent for relaxing with a good book! The kitchen is also very well stocked as well. You have your pick of places to sleep, and the beds are cozy. Our host was so kind and helpful as well, which definitely made the stay feel even more relaxing. I would absolutely love to come back to Shasta Valley again! Highly, highly recommend! :)
Great location, lots to do on the property. Very peaceful area. We really enjoyed the outdoor kitchen; has lots of itens you need to enjoy a meal outdoors. We loved all the game options supplied for guests. Very family friendly. Would recommend a great for guests to use if they want to cook over a fire.
Fun, quirky little place, perfect for our family of 5! Kitchen has everything you need for meals. My kids enjoyed the games, Alexa and watercolor paints. Outside is amazing- you have to hike up the trail to get to the “outside kitchen”- but it’s a beautiful little hike. We could hear the waterfall from our bedroom!
Good clean house and the owner was very very accommodating. The property itself allows time to just stay at the house and explore/rest. This is a great place to disconnect from technology (even though the owner provides great WiFi) and to just rest. Just a short drive away there is the red river gorge area. This is a huge park to explore with some easier hikes to some more difficult ones, plus some neat restaurants and gift shops. I’d love to get back to this property at some point.
This property is beautiful! The owners were very quick with almost instant responses and had everything stocked in the home that you could need. Very nice location for all the Red River Gorge has to offer. I would very much recommend a stay here!
Very comfortable, had everything you could possibly need, dogs loved it, fun hiking on property and close enough to Red River Gorge. Would definitely go again
We spent most of our time visiting at the rental. We took two hikes and enjoyed the property---beautiful rock formations and nice hilltop veiws. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant.
We had a great time. It fit our large family perfectly. The only down side was that the grass was very long and made the trails hard to navigate. Other then that no complaints. We will be back!!
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit the cat was great the trail was a little overgrown but we enjoyed it will certainly recommend it to our friends

Why they chose this property
We love how diverse this property is in its terrain. It has the flat open hilltop field perfect for stargazing and bonfires. Its a big enough area for free spirits to run wild and large groups to camp. The forest area and trail are magical and enchanting and FULL of incredible plants, fungi, and wild life. The creek and water fall that lead into the gorge are an incredible feature to add to the beauty of the property. We hope you enjoy it just as much as we do!
