About this property
Cedar Lodge on Lake Michigan
Naubinway - In Anishinaabe, it means "to gaze in wonderment", which is just what you'll feel compelled to do when you see the beauty of the sandy shores of Lake Michigan at to our beautiful, spacious, private lodge! Nestled on 3+ acres in the woods along 250'+ of private, sandy beach and neighboring hundreds of acres of national and state forest land, you'll fall in love with the charm of this custom home with many luxurious amenities including many oversized windows overlooking the beach, vaulted ceilings with skylights, AGA oven/stove, master bedroom jacuzzi and balcony, grand piano, large wrap around deck with propane grill, two 2-person dining tables, 2 rocking chairs, 12 Adirondack chairs with fire pit on the beach, and 4 kayaks (2 2-person tandems and 2 singles)! Whether you want take a swim or kayak the lake, soak up the sun with your toes in the sand or explore the wilderness next door, gaze across the horizon during sunset or see the stars at night, this property has it all!
The national and state forests bordering the property provides a thriving habitat for wildlife including Bears, Wolves, Bobcats, Mountain Lions, Bald Eagles, Sand Hill Cranes, Deer, and various birds which wander past your windows as you take in the spectacular view of the lake. Settle in for the evening by a cozy fire on the beach and listen to the gentle sounds of Lake Michigan lapping at the shore with the sparkling stars above.
There are miles of trails in the area to explore by foot, horseback, snowmobile, or four-wheel ATV. If fishing interests you, fly-fish some of the finest steelhead and brook trout streams anywhere (we support 'catch-and-release' or 'clean-on-the-river').
Just four miles to the east are two restaurants and to the west enjoy the small fishing village of Naubinway where fresh Whitefish is caught/sold daily. If you've not experienced the world famous 'U.P. Pastie', stop by any of the roadside shops who advertise - you are sure to fall in love with this Northern Michigan novelty! Groceries, gas, and antique shops are readily available within a short drive to either Newberry or St. Ignace.
Being centrally located makes trips to popular northern Michigan destinations a breeze! Here are some examples:
Cut River Bridge and Gorge (10 mins)

About the host
Hosted by Nikki
Born and raised in West Michigan, it's hard to not appreciate Michigan's beautiful beaches, lakes, and forests. Naturally, much of my free time was spent at the beach on Lake Michigan. So it's no surprise that it was a childhood dream of mine to own a home on the Lake. And after saving and extensively researching for years, I finally took the leap with the Cedar Lodge and Cedar Loft! While my family and I truly love spending time here when we get a chance (and when we're not working to maintain or improve it for our guests :) ), the most gratifying experience for me is providing unforgettable experiences and memories for others. So thank you for giving us the opportunity to accommodate you and your family!
