Beautiful, quiet getaway with an expansive river views and access. Just a little bit outside of Portland. The house is an updated older river home, comfortable and with an impressively large series of decks.
The Stafford River House was an amazingly unique property. We loved hour beautiful and peaceful the location was and yet it was very close to a major interstate. It was very convenient to travel to our excursions. Check-in was seamless, the home had all the amenities we needed including a reliable wi-fi connection. We enjoyed our 2-night stay very much!
Beautiful property and stay. Would highly recommend to others and stay again! Perfect size for our family and had everything we needed. One of the highlights of the trip was canoeing down the river as a family! Thanks for the memories!
The pictures are accurate. This place is nice and clean and sits right on the Tualatin River. There are three decks to watch the river go by and kayaks available. Great spot
I would give 4.5* if that were possible. There was nothing wrong with the house (things in the kitchen were perhaps oddly placed, but so what), it's just that the place could use a little bit of fix-me-up. Fairly minor stuff that I wold do if it were my place.
Our stay was wonderful. The only reason I gave it four out of five stars above is there are some part to the property that are a little rundown, including railings outside down to the river. The dock was also pretty rundown a little unsafe, but we still were able to get into the river on the kayaks on the paddleboard and it was amazing. The river is very very nice And the location and the views were wonderful. My only negative comment is in the mornings during the week you can hear traffic from the freeway my whole reason for coming out here was to get away from all the car noise in the traffic noise so that was a little disappointing but overall it was a wonderful stay. I would definitely book this place again it was plenty of space for me and my family. Also, screens on the windows in the living room would be good, but I get why they’re not necessary all the time anyway thank you so much for letting us reach your home. It was wonderful and we will definitely be back.
Booked this house for a wedding my friends and I were in town for. The location is awesome having 3 different decks and a dock makes it perfect for any size group to have fun and enjoy their time together
I had a family wedding in Canby and we rented this house for the bridal party/ out of town guests. It was a perfect way to share the best parts of Oregon while still being close to the city!! Plenty of beds/ bathrooms. The deck was the best part!
Perfect relaxing stay right on river. Nice peaceful location. Used the Kayaks a few times. Easy in and out and communicating with host. Clean and well equipped. Little quirky bedroom layout, and decking and outdoor steps could use upgrade; but great for price. Would definitely stay again.
We loved the beautiful location on the hillside overlooking the river, thee paddle board and kayaks, and the friendly residential neighborhood for quiet walks in the morning. We especially liked the nearby Luscher Farm, where we walked their wandering paved paths, picked blackberries, and made a delicious pie. We saw a few minor items that could be improved, but we'll recommend those changes to the owner.
Cute home located in a beautiful neighborhood. Can’t beat the waterfront location, and we had so much fun hanging out on the multiple decks and utilizing the paddle board and kayaks. Wish the listing specified the layout of the house more clearly. You have to go through the “kids room” upstairs to get to one of the bigger bedrooms, and the upstairs bathroom is located off of the kids room. Might be awkward depending on your group, but overall it was a super fun stay! :)
Spacious, amenities exactly as described, very quiet & peaceful location. Host very responsive and easy to communicate with. House layout a little unusual - not prohibitive - just unusual. Three levels - downstairs Qn bed w/ combo laundry & full bath; main level has no BRs but a full bath; upstairs has 2 BRs with 4 beds (Kg, full, 2 twins (bunks) but only a half bath. Whoever is in Kg BR has to go down stairs to bathroom. Wasn’t a huge deal for our group but may be for some.

Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in
Thanksgiving Disappointment
The rental was easy enough to find. A cabin in the woods. The steps going down to the front door were slippery and covered in moss making navigating with suitcases challenging. We were given a door code for entry. It always took several tries to unlock the door. (Better instructions to light up the entire keypad would have been helpful).
The house was a bit of a mystery with alternating water pressure in each room. The fridge was filled with used condiments and one kitchen drawer was filled with opened food items. The cabinet under the sink in the kitchen was very dirty. We chose to stay in the upstairs bedroom. There was no reading lamp by the bed. We found one in the bedroom two floors down and moved it for our stay. Things were grimy and a bit greasy. The floor in the eating area had quite a tilt on it. The door lock on the back door looked like it had been installed by a beaver with sharp teeth. Just too many things that did not impress us.
I definitely would not stay here again.

Okay experience
Our stay at the Stafford River House was enjoyable, yet marred by disappointments with its upkeep. Despite its potential, the property seemed neglected, evident in overgrown outdoor areas and poorly maintained water equipment (paddle board was only halfway inflated and pedal boat was halfway submerged in the river). Inside, cleanliness was lacking, with broken chairs in the kitchen, dated appliances, and a molded scrub brush provided in the kitchen sink. The bedroom layout lacked a master suite, and the limited towels provided were less than ideal. The inconvenience of a washer outlet being locked by the owner/management to prevent use compounded our frustration. Nonetheless, the property manager's kindness and communication were commendable, allowing us a late check-out amidst our flight delay. While our family time was cherished, the property's condition didn't justify its cost.
