Our stay here was perfect! The cottage is well stocked with all of your needs, and we loved how pup friendly it was. It was in a great location, convenient to the boat ramp, grocery store and places to eat out for dinner. We will definitely stay here again!
We love staying at the cozy cottage. Our purpose is for fishing. There is ample parking and the host is always helpful when needed. We will definitely stay again.
Plenty of space; to relax, play games, read, walk to the lake, family at the kitchen table,to snack
We had a lovely visit. Everything you'll need to prepare food and treats - two large bathrooms, four bedrooms (two Queen beds and two twin beds). Beautiful views of nature.
We got together for a fun holiday weekend & really enjoyed the big gas stove in the kitchen & all the outdoor areas. Very comfortable & accommodating for 5 adults & we LOVED that they not only allowed but welcomed our fur babies too. We will definitely be back!
We stayed at Heron’s Cove for a weekend with our adult children to celebrate an early Christmas. The cottage was wonderfully decorated for Christmas and was the perfect space for us to laugh together and enjoy each others company. It was a rather stormy weekend but the location was still so beautiful.
Great place, lots of character and charm. Exactly as the listing described, rustic lake place but very comfortable. Kitchen has everything - appointed like your own house, not a rental. Communication with the property mgmt company was excellent, very responsive and friendly.
This cottage was the perfect place for my family to relax and reconnect. The house has a great layout and was rustic and cozy- a perfect lake house feel. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was well appointed and the large table in the sunroom was great for playing cards and games. The area is beautiful, with a great view of the lake, a spacious lawn, and a firepit. We had a great weekend and we're looking forward to coming back!

Disliked: Check-in, communication
Owners were difficult to reach
The property was as described, rustic. What made the whole vacation weekend extremely stressful was the check in process. Communication was very poor and this caused a lot of confusion and delays for us.
This is an absolutely adorable home. Very well done renovation on what I am guessing is quite an old home. Joanna Gaines from Fixer Upper would be proud! The floors and doors are original, so there is no sneaking to the bathroom in the middle of the night without making a bit of noise. BEST equipped kitchen of any rental I have used to date! The negatives: It is tricky to find if coming in in the dark so drive slow! Communication with the host was extremely slow if I even got a response. We had difficulty with the tv, and never heard back from the host. Also, if you want to utilize the fire pit, bring beach chairs as there are not any available. I must say though, it was a beautiful home, with so many different sitting areas for us to sit and catch up with each other. Would absolutely recommend.
This is an old cottage, but with modern kitchen and baths and plenty of comfortable furniture. Fast internet service if you need to do some remote work or stream video.
There were a few areas where some patches and repairs hadn't been painted yet, but they didn't really detract from the overall experience.
There are kayaks and a canoe, along with a couple of wheeled dollies for transporting them to the water, which is a short walk down a mowed path. Be sure you apply insect repellent before making your way to the water, as the mosquitoes will find you. You'll also see some old abandoned cabins along that walk, so be aware that they are there before you let your kids go roaming.
If you use Google Maps, it will tell you turn off the highway onto a private road that runs next to this property, but the driveway for the property is accessed from the highway.
Everything was great! The location was perfect for our trips to Montreal, Burlington, Lake Champlain and our aunt's place near Plattsburgh, NY.

About the host
Hosted by Lauren
I grew up in Chazy! When my mother decided it was time to let it go and moved downstate, I knew I couldn't let the house go. I bought the house from her and continued the Airbnb. I hope you enjoy our home as much as we have over the years.
Why they chose this property
Heron’s Cove is the perfect place to unplug with access to the lake from the backyard down a tended path. Kayaks, a rowboat, and life jacks are provided!
We understand your concerns about the risk of COVID and the FLU. The cottage is thoroughly cleaned/sanitized after each guest departs.
20 minutes from Plattsburgh NY and 1 1/2 hours from Montreal and Burlington VT.
What makes this property unique
Our home is 116 years old! It's on a large property in the beautiful countryside. Our cottage has all the amenities you need, and the town has a 100-year-old orchard with the most fantastic bakery. There is even a small winery in the town!
