Secluded Log Cabin

**New wood floors recently installed.
Secluded Private Log Cabin. Located in rural Iron County on working farm just minutes from Black River, St. Francois River, Clearwater Lake, Elephant Rocks, Johnson Shut-Ins, & Shepherd Mt. Bike Park.
We now have Wi-Fi! But you can also sit back and enjoy the good old days with a board game, smores around the fire pit, a game of Foosball or just sit and listen to the sounds of nature. There is also a 50" TV with DVD player and assorted DVD's. Limited cell service but there is a landline.

Awesome cabin

It was absolutely beautiful! We all enjoyed our stay it was the perfect little getaway we needed! Even got to watch some beautiful sunsets. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed.

This is the most awesome place to stay! Very clean, comfortable and accommodating. We loved the quiet and relaxing area, just like home away from home. Will definitely be back! Hostess was very helpful in finding the best little cafe to eat at.

Check in information was sent to Candi at 8:25 am on the day of check in. Check in time is 3pm or later. That gave her at least a 6 hour window to review check in information prior to her stay. Vrbo does not allow any type of "picture" to be sent to the guest so I am unable to send screen shots. As stated, entry information was sent well in advance of their arrival time. As far as WIFI service, the cabin is located in a very rural area and has broadband service which is at full capacity in our area. I only added the WIFI to the cabin this year as an extra incentive for the guests so that they can stay connected to social media. I agree it is in no way strong enough to do any type of streaming video service. Cell service - being in a rural area, cell service is limited and it is noted. There is a landline phone at the cabin for this reason at no charge to the guests. We do appreciate your stay!

Pure Serenity

We had the best most relaxing time spent here. The cabin was just what we needed. It was just our style (the rustic farmhouse cabin). It had everything we needed and more. We can't wait to come back. Robin was amazing throughout our stay from the beginning to the end.

Authentic rural Missouri farm setting

This old farm homestead has been converted into a wonderful place to get away from the electronic world and experience the peaceful beauty of Missouri. Great place to glamp with your family or giving grandkids a farm experience. Host made it like a home away from home. Just bring your clothes and some groceries and your good to go.

We thought the cabin was adorable and just what we needed. But the dead rodent smell in the kitchen mixed with the way to many airfresheners was overwhelmingly bad. So we left a day early. Cute place though!

Savannah, I apologize for the dead mouse smell in the kitchen. I did inform you of this situation on the date of your arrival. It was very faint as it had been dead for many days prior to your arrival and the cabin aired as much as possible prior to your stay. The renters on the 4th holiday left the doors standing open for extended periods of time which filled the cabin with flies and apparently a mouse. The cabin is located in a farming area with cattle and mice are unfortunately a reality in our area. The mouse was not detected until it gave up its last breath under a cabinet I could not move. I will say that the smell was only in one area of the kitchen but unfortunately right next to the stove. Everything was sanitized and the added air fresheners to help with the smell, but could have easily been unplugged if too overwhelming. The smell was not noticeable in any other room of the cabin or any of the bedrooms. Had it been in those rooms I would have cancelled your stay. Again, my sincere apologies for the smell, we hope you will return again.

July 4th Getaway

This cabin was just perfect for our stay! Location was right in the middle of everything we wanted to do. Plenty of space inside the cabin, firm beds, very clean upon arrival with multiple patios to sit outside & enjoy the views. Only thing we noticed was that there was only 3 bath towels for 5 people for 3 nights.. there is a washer/dryer so that helped but we were glad we had a few extra beach towels to use. Otherwise our stay was great, no issues, memories were made and we will definitely be back. Thank you Robin for the wonderful place to stay!

Nice peaceful house in a beautiful country setting. Main bed/bedroom very nice and comfortable. Bunkbed in second bedroom might be ok for a child but horribly uncomfortable for an adult. Kitchen fairly well stocked but could use a few more basics like measuring spoons/cups & mixing bowl.

Great quiet country retreat

Perfect quiet country retreat. Beautiful scenery of pasture, fall foliage, and pond. No cell service in the area (a plus for me) but the house has a landline phone for use. Print off maps of the area to help find your way around since lack of cell service blocks navigation apps. There is a Dollar General a few miles away in Annapolis. Lots of places to sit outside and admire the peaceful view. House is fully equipped and comfortable. Property manager very responsive and welcoming. Would stay here again.

Quiet and peaceful cabin

Cabin is located in a very rural area. We could only see one home off in a distance. Enjoyed sitting outside in the evenings at the fire pit listening to the wildlife including birds, turkeys, frogs, owls. Heard the cows in early morning but they did not come to the pond while we were there. There was no TV or internet so it was the perfect place to unwind and relax and forget the outside world. Cabin was perfect. Had everything you need for a great getaway.

Thanksgiving Get Away! ;)

Family of 5; we all loved it! Kids even unplugged & spent time w/ the grownups! Robin communicated to us about an issue prior to arrival, but it was all fixed and we had no troubles. Loved that the cabin is away from other homes. Beautiful setting. Cows weren't any trouble, didn't have smells either and they were in the pasture. Possibly because it's November. I didn't see mixing bowls or a wire whisk, but everything else was supplied. Wonderful selection of videos & games. Great weekend; we would DEFINITELY return!

Awesome Place

The property was absolutely gorgeous, right as the leaves are changing on the trees. The inside of the cabin is exactly what was the description listed. We only had a small issue, which was the smell when you first walked in. It is to be expected. I guess with the location and the age of the cabin itself maybe not being used enough? The outside fire pit was great. We all enjoyed it. It was very much needed. We are planning another trip and are looking forward to renting the same place. The location is very private, quiet and perfect for star gazing. It was great, not having any Internet service and no outside distractions.
