The coach house is separate from the main house and feels like its own piece of property. It had everything one would need for a very pleasant stay. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked (although i did not cook). The location next to the lake was amazing. I felt very safe in this area.
Great carriage house in a fabulous part of Evanston. One block to beach. Easy walk to train or to restaurants (.7 mile)Lots of light. Good kitchen. Has a claw foot shower and tub. Everything is clean and neat. The tub shower is not the best set up for anyone prone to slipping. Otherwise everything is perfect.
My daughter and I stayed at this charming carriage house for the weekend during summer and it was wonderful! It has a lovely neighborhood feel and is also so close to Lake Michigan and the Lee St. Beach, which was a vibrant scene. It was close to downtown Evanston and Northwestern. It was well-appointed, bright, beautifully decorated and so comfortable. We would love to come back!
We had such a lovely time at our stay in this lovely coach house. Janet our host was incredibly accommodating and made sure we had what we needed. The house is beautifully decorated and was very clean and organized. The historic neighborhood is serene with beautiful architecture. The location is ideal as it is close to the beach and also accessible to the L and local grocery stores. We loved our time here and would be delighted to return again.
The property was in an excellent location; easy walk to beach, beautiful and quiet neighborhood, easy walk to shops. The apartment was clean and spacious. We enjoyed out stay. Only complaint is no TV. We spent much of our time with my daughter who lives nearby but if I had mornings or longer evenings inside, I would have wanted a TV.
Such a lovely place to stay, such a beautiful neighborhood, conveniently one block off of Lake Michigan. The host was so wonderful. We will definitely stay here again when we are in town.
Kitchen equipped enough to cook a 6 person dinner! Could use 1 serving platter and 1 serving bowl!Lovely apartment, quiet street.

JoAnn, thank you so much for the lovely review! I’m thrilled to hear you enjoyed the coach house and found the kitchen well equipped. I really appreciate the thoughtful suggestion as well — I’ll be adding a serving bowl and platter to make it even better for future guests. We’d love to host you again anytime!
Beautiful property. Very clean, great location, comfortable sofa and king sized bed. Spacious kitchen and dining table for a nice family dinner. Host Janet was very kind and helpful.
Beautiful, spacious, light-filled carraige house in a gorgeous historical neighborhood. Close to beach, shops, cafes. Janet was very accommodating and very hospitable. We loved it!

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Sitting area outside the house had to be rented separately; we felt claustrophobic in our space above the garage; certainly not worth the money we paid; no refund given for the third person who couldn’t make it; no plan to visit again
My daughter and I stayed at Janet’s place while we were visiting Northwestern. We had a great stay, the apartment was very clean and it matched the listing description. It was walking distance to dining and the train to Chicago, about a mile to the Northwestern campus and a block from the beach. If my daughter gets accepted to NW we plan on staying here again.
Clean and fresh. This is a nicely decorated, well appointed and spacious rental. Communication with the gracious host was easy and cordial. The historical district is just beautiful; a great location to enjoy the lakeshore beach and parks.
