A true home away from home for your golf, ski, fall color or just 'relaxing up-north' vacation!

Well-maintained, cozy and clean condo at the best location at Shanty Creek Resort: The top of Summit Mountain, steps away from the Lakeview Hotel & Conference Center! Ski Schuss and Summit Mountains with one lift ticket: drive down the street (or take the shuttle) to the lift at Cedar River! Also close to the tubing park, and ski rental (inside Lakeview Hotel and also at Schuss Mountain). Shuttle service to Downtown Bellaire is also available.

True ski-in/ski-out and true golf view! Step off the rear deck right onto Summit Mountain for skiing during ski season (availability varies and is not our responsibility; please check weather conditions and resort hours for details). The front deck overlooks the famous Legend Golf Course and the Legend Club House is across the street. Legend, Summit, Cedar River and Schuss Mountain golf courses are on the resort and The Chief, Hawk's Eye and other Golf Courses (off-resort) are a quick drive away.

This condo is located minutes from the beautiful Upper (Including Intermediate Lake) and Lower Chain of Lakes (Including Lake Bellaire, Grass River, Clam Lake, Torch Lake and Elk Lake)

From Memorial Day through Labor Day, guests of this unit enjoy access to the private Summit Mountain Beach Club on Lake Bellaire (boat docks are available at local marinas, but are not accessible at the beach club to non-property owners).

In addition to enjoying the Bellaire and the surrounding area, such as Traverse City, Elk Rapids, Alden and Central Lake, many of our guests use this condo as a home base for day trips to places like Mackinaw City, Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Empire, and the Sleeping Bear Dunes!

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
If the fireplace was used, please make sure that the fire is completely out and close the flue if you are sure that nothing is still smoldering. Return pool/beach passes to the hook in the kitchen.
Not mandatory but very helpful: Place bath/bed linens into the washer w/detergent and run on hot. There is a stacked washer next to the basement door and another washer downstairs in the utility room.

Amazing experience!

This location was ideal for everything we wanted to do and a winter weekend away! A short drive to skiing, a short walk to alpine tubing, a few local bars and restaurants and great kitchen space to eat in. The weather was perfect with fresh snow and so much fun was had! The hosts are wonderful and we will be back!!

Great stay at Shanty condo

Spent a few days with my daughter-in-law and granddaughter at this wonderful Shanty Creek condo. We enjoyed the open areas, playground, pool, beach club, proximity to Shanty town food options, picked raspberries at nearby Kings Orchards and checked out Grass River. The condo has everything one might need and the owners/managers were friendly and communicative. Highly recommend.

This condo was beautiful, very clean, and amazing views. I had an issue with code, and Joe was very helpful and patient. No matter what I asked him he answer my questions promptly. Great condo!!

This is a perfect condo for families. We stayed with 2 families. It was very clean and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. It was nice to have separate bathroom and privacy with our own rooms. The condo is close to the ski resort and the hotel so the kids could swim. The condo was well equipped with kitchen pots/pans, utensils— towels and amenities we needed. I would definitely recommend this condo and would come back again.

Great vacation at Shanty Creek

Annual visit to Northern Michigan to visit family, golf, explore wineries and escape the Florida heat and humidity. I own a VRBO in Ga. My partner owned a few condos in Shanty Creek. We're kind of fussy when it comes to VRBO properties. This one was GREAT. The location was perfect, the unit was well stocked, clean and comfortable. Loved the amenities including the beach club and golf. Hope to rent again next year.

Excellent Stay

This was our first visit to Shanty Creek, and we were there to attend a wedding nearby. This unit was great! Great layout, very clean and the owner was very helpful. He ensured we had no issues getting in the unit (as VRBO had a messaging hiccup). It was just as advertised, and even more beautiful in person. The location was great, both within the Shanty Creek Summit area as well as the area to attend the festivities we were invited to. We want to come back for a vacation!

Great stay at Shanty!!

This is our second time staying at this condo. It’s a great set up with 2 Master bedrooms/baths and lots of space to keep your kids happy as well!! We loved the upgrades in the kitchen with the new range/oven and fridge. Also a favorite feature of our entire crew is the wood burning fireplace. The condo complex has loads of dry wood, so making the fire is easy and adds an element of coziness. We will be back next year!

Christmas Vacation 2009

We stayed for a week after Christmas and thru New Years. Condo was perfect for our family. Kids could get up in the morning and snowboard right out the back deck come in for lunch than back out. Condo very well equipped. Owner was very nice and prompt with answers to our questions. The weather was perfect. We had Summit to ourselves most of the time. Only went to Schuss 1 time except to drop our 6 year old at ski school. Would definitely love to stay again. There is a grocery store about 5 min away in town not overly high priced just get the discount card when you check out, and they were open late. GREAT Condo!!

Fall Colors - Sept. 30 - Oct. 7, 2023 - Shanty Creek Condo

I visited this location with my brother and sister-in-law. We had a fabulous time. The condo was wonderful. We would go back again except for one minor issue. My brother is handicapped. We had a ground floor condo, but there were still 17 steps to get into the unit. Not handicap accessible. This was the only downfall. That being said we still had a lovely time!!!!

The area is nice the house beautiful but bedrooms need an update the comforters look like they came from good will the sheets had pills all over them and could not use both bathrooms at the same time because they kept blowing a fuse for as much money as this man is making on this condo he should be putting a little more money into the sheets and blankets and a little electrical

We are truly sorry that your needs were not met and electrical safety was an inconvenience. A quick look at our other 70+ reviews reveals that your dissatisfaction is an anomaly. As for a blankets that did not meet your standards, the particular issue could have been resolved during the many times that we were on the phone. If you would have let me know, I would’ve gladly given you access to the secure areas where brand new blankets are stored. We pride this unit on being ideal for families who are looking for bang for the buck accommodations for their Northern Michigan vacations. If the decor and furniture was a concern, a quick look at our photographs would have prevented you from renting a place that does not suit your expectations, as the photos accurately show the interior of the condo. From what you have indicated, I would recommend that you stay at a Four Seasons, W Hotel, or even Hampton Inn as their blankets probably don’t have as many pills as ours do. The only problem with staying at accommodations such as the ones mentioned above is that they typically do not book guests who credit cards are declined, as yours was.

Shanty Creek Condo

We stayed in the Trappers Lodge Condos at Shanty Creek with two of our granddaughters. The condo was perfectly clean when we arrived and was well stocked with dishes and cookware. The girls enjoyed swimming in the hotel pool. We had two meals in restaurants on the property. Great pizza at Sarduccis and burgers and pizza at the Pelicans Nest. It was nice to have so many options close by. Bellaire was a short drive away and has several restaurants. The Glacial Pathway has several hiking trails and is just a short drive away.

We returned this evening from our 3rd stay here and just booked a week for next year already. This property has been absolutely wonderful for our family. We love it so much that we invited friends last year, they returned this year with us and are hooked too. We started coming with 3 of us and now there’s 7 (4 adults, 3 kids under age 6) of us comfortably accommodated for the week. The kids love the stocked game closet, books, & activities & the fact that the resort playground is steps off the back deck. The adults love the view and proximity to the resort amenities, pools, Starbucks, and the restaurants and fun little outdoor bar areas next door. The pools are warm and clean with beautiful views of Lake Bellaire. Sunset swims outside are our favorite. The private beach club (5 minute drive away) is AMAZING! Clean, beautiful shallow water perfect for kids, plenty of beach chairs, picnic tables, Weber gas grills, playground, & great restrooms. The condo is kept very clean and well stocked with pots & pans, towels etc. Short drive to the grocery store to stock up. We like to “base” here for the week and each day do different day trips like Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes/Traverse City, Mackinac Island, and a pontoon day on Torch Lake. Joe, the owner, is extremely responsive & helpful which makes it an easy choice to return year after year. I honestly can’t say enough good about how perfect this condo has been for our family.

Perfect golf getaway

Location is great. Parked car for weekend and walked to everything. Golfed at Summit. Ate at a few restaurants. Went hiking on way home. It’s a beautiful area.

Wonderful week Up North

It was a great property for my husband and my parents. Two bedroom/two bathrooms - plenty of room. There was great live entertainment and food within walking distance.
