The house is as lovely in person as it is in the photos. We had everything we needed in the kitchen to warm up and serve the soups and bread we brought with us. The Nespresso coffee maker had plenty of pods, sugar was provided which was so helpful in the morning. We appreciated that some condiments and water were left for our use, too. The location was perfect for our trip to the National Park and only 15 minutes from a Food Lion. We loved sitting outside for dinner and enjoyed the birds and a visit from the family dog.
A very friendly visit from the family dog!

Secluded Country Cottage

We really enjoyed our stay. We wish we could have spent more time on site enjoying the secluded setting with the flowering plants and singing birds. Would definitely come back if ever in the area again. Close to Congaree NP and nice drive to historic Columbia.

Wonderful Cottage

My husband and I met another couple at this cottage for a long weekend. The cottage was perfect for us. So many extra little touches made it feel like welcome guests instead of renters. Kitchen was well equipment to cook dinner. Host had lots of great suggestions for places to eat and recommended things to do. Cottage was very clean and comfortable. We will definitely be coming back.

Outstanding place!!!

Very well decorated and maintained property. The host made us feel very welcome with fresh cookies and flowers. There were cold sodas and water in the fridge, as well as condiments. The outside is an oasis with rocking chairs and lots of animals. Very private and quite.

Family Time with our new Soldier

We brought our kids down to the Columbia/Hopkins area to see our oldest son graduated from the Army National Guard at Fort Jackson. Of course, for convenience sake we could have stayed in a hotel on base. However, we prefer some room to spread out and make our own meals. We are so glad we decided to stay in this cozy cottage - it was very relaxing and very homey. At night we prepared meals at the house and then brought them onto base for picnic meals (after family day events, museums visits, and graduation) with our son. In the late afternoon the kids ran around the yard while us adults rocked on the porch with some wine. All of us were disappointed that our stay was short and hope to return again to the area and the cottage. As we left town to head back to Minnesota we stopped for a short hike in the Congaree National Park - What a unique place! - a person could easily spend a few days in there exploring on foot and/or by water - one short hike left us hungry for more. Groceries, the fort and many other attractions are nearby this beautiful cottage.

Gorgeous cottage!

Incredibly clean, well stocked, beautiful property nestled in the woods. Debbie’s space had plenty of room, a gorgeous yard, fire pit, and had extra charges, soaps, coffee, any pot/pans you could need and even a griddle! I would highly recommend this stay to anyone traveling to the area and looking for a nice, quiet, clean, spacious property for their getaway!

Fun and relaxing getaway

This place exceeded every expectation. We came because the cottage is so close to Congaree NP, but fell in love with the peaceful coziness and serenity. We enjoyed birdwatching from the front porch and smores in the evening. The home was stocked with everything we and our 3 young children needed. Thinking this may be an annual trip!

Relaxing country home

This is our second time staying here. We enjoy the quiet (except for the airbase jets and helicopters that occasionally fly over), the birds, and the sense of being out in the country. The home is very comfortable with ALL of the necessities, plus some, provided. For example, wireless device chargers were provided! The hosts are responsive and pleasant and even keep the bird feeders filled!

The perfect landing place for a weekend at Congaree National Park

We had a fantastic stay at this cottage while visiting Congaree National Park. The home looked exactly as described—clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully set up for a comfortable stay. The kitchen and living space made it easy to prepare meals before heading out for the day and provided a great spot to relax afterward. The host was a great communicator and readily available if needed. If we visit the park again, this is exactly where we would choose to stay! Highly recommend.

What a wonderful place to stay at when visiting Congaree National Park. You can tell the host is not just good at what they do, but truly passionate. It can be seen from house decorations and condition down to complimentary food items. Everyone enjoyed the outside bonfire with smores after a long day. There is a washer and dryer on site, but no dishwasher. Latter was the only downside, but not that big of a deal for us. Weather late November treated us to just perfect fall days before leaves fall out. I wouldn't think twice about staying here again. Thanks again for a great visit.

John & Rusty are brothers and they grew up on the property. Both love the outdoors, hunting, fishing, building/remodeling and chatting with the guests.
Lynn & Debbie are friends as well as sister-in-laws and they put the finishing touches on what John and Rusty build. Both love new adventures and making our guests feel comfortable.

Why they chose this property

Cedar Creek Cottage is located on family land with a long history.. Nature is waiting for you right outside the door. It is not uncommon to see deer walking through the yard, and an array of birds on the feeders. It is a quick trip to Congaree National Park or Columbia to see all the capital city has to offer then come back and relax on the porch or by the fire pit and look at the stars.

What makes this property unique

Cedar Creek Cottage is fully stocked with everything you will need to be comfortable. Easy access and ample parking. There is a lot of history on the property and you are free to walk around and explore. We have chickens, goats and a miniature donkey; if you wish to visit with them just let Debbie know. We love our peaceful setting and hope you will as well.
