Exceptional, spacious self-catered cottage with shared pool, for long stays

Rebuilt in 2020, Le Champs is a quiet, contemporary and spacious ground floor cottage featuring stone walls, limestone floors and exposed beams. Spanning 80 m², the gîte has a large master bedroom with a 160 cm bed, an open-plan kitchen, a living room, and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. The garden overlooks a bamboo grove and offers outdoor seating, barbecue and transats. The heated pool, petanque court and pingpong and 40 hectares of woodland are steps away. Broad band wi-fi, satellite television, electricity and hot water are included.

Montboulard, a haven for peace and relaxation dominated by its stone tower and manor house, is less than a kilometer away from a panapoly of commerce - conventional and organic supermarkets, restaurants, gift, household goods, clothing and hardware stores as well as auto and personal care services. Ten minutes by car, or with convenient access by public bus, is the ancient city center of Angouleme which offers over forty restaurants, bars and cafes, a covered market, Romanesque cathedral, museums, boutiques and striking views and public art.

The Charente countryside offers castle-dominated villages, Roman and prehistoric sites, and countryside perfect for hikes and cycling. You can also visit world-famous Cognac vineyards and distilleries, walnut groves, cheesemakers, orchards, or deer, trout or truck gardens.

Montboulard is equidistant from Atlantic beaches and destinations of the Dordogne making easy day trips to La Rochelle, Royan, Bordeaux and its vineyards, Poitiers, Limoges, Sarlat and Perigueux.

Outdoor activities for adults and children are plentiful: kayaking, canoeing, rock climbing, river and lake swimming, zip-lining, cycling along the Charente River, hiking, and horseback riding.

Check-in is between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Check-out is at 10:00 am. Earlier arrival or later departure may be possible, subject to availability and additional fees. However, you are welcome to enjoy Montboulard's amenities, including the pool, before check-in and check-out times.

Fresh pastries and breakfast can be delivered to your gite in the morning.
