The Parc naturel régional du Marais poitevin labeled Grand Site de France is located in 3 departments: the Deux-Sèvres, the Vendée and the Charente-Maritime. There are three types of Marais: wet marais, dry marais and sea marais. The wet Marais remains the best known of all. The second wet zone in France after the Camargue, the Marais Poitevin is a haven of peace for nature lovers, with its green landscapes, peaceful canals and abundant fauna and flora.
