If you notice any issues, please let us know, and we’ll address them promptly.
SECURITY CAMERA
For your safety and ours, please be aware that are two security cameras installed at the front door. The cameras record video footage 24/7. This measure is in place to ensure the security of our property and the safety of all guests. The second camera is for the trash bin; it is the closest we could get to view the bin. We installed the second camera strictly in an attempt to avoid the $250 fine by ensuring bears do not scatter trash. Your privacy is of utmost importance, and no other areas are under video surveillance.
CAUTION
*As you enter the cabin, watch your step. There is a staircase leading downstairs immediately on the left as you enter.
*Inspect the loft area to ensure that the window is locked and the window alarm is working. This "egress" window is required by the county for fire safety, but we want to emphasize that it should always remain closed due to the high drop.

We had a great time and enjoyed our stay. The property managers were very helpful and the cabin was beautiful and very clean. The kids loved the loft area and the view was amazing!
The property was wonderful! The added christmas decoractions for the holiday made it even better! It was super nice to have plenty of cooking utensils as well.
The check-in and check-out process was extremely easy. The owners were easy to contact and prompt to answer a technology question we had late at night. We brought consumables but the house was stocked. The cabin was very clean and well staged with
furniture. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend others to stay too.
My husband, five children and myself stayed here for three nights. The cabin was beautiful, clean and in a beautiful location. We had bears come right up to the car. So cool! Our host answered right away the couple of times we had questions.
Our stay was wonderful. The cabin was absolutely beautiful, well stocked and clean. The view is AMAZING! The beds were comfortable and provided plenty of room for our family. We all enjoyed playing the multiple arcade games as well as spending time in the hot tub. The internet was fast and reliable for those who do need to work for a little here and there. I would recommend this cabin over and over. Great communication with Jennifer and Neal on any question you would have.
This is the message we received from Mariusz via our VRBO inbox:
"Our first night was amazing, it's beautiful up here. Everything is great, we were actually wondering if there was any way it would be possible to extend our stay for one more night?"
We were happy to grant his request. Unfortunately, on the added night, he left two girls unaccompanied at our cabin while he returned to his home state. The girls had difficulty getting the front door to open. Instead of calling us for help, they decided to break in a window, causing hundreds of dollars worth of damage. A police officer was dispatched to the property, but the girls refused to allow him to enter. The father was rude to the police officer over the phone and refused to pay for the damages. We are not some rich cooperation that owns lots of cabins--we have only one cabin, which we put our hearts into renovating ourselves in order to make it a wonderful place for our own family and our guests. It is certainly disheartening that people would care so little for someone else's property and then on top of that slam us with this inaccurate and undeserved review. Please read the review from the previous guest for a more accurate description. We hope you will choose to stay with us. We think you will love our cabin.
The cabin was beautiful, very clean and accommodating! I felt very comfortable and I consider myself a bit of a clean freak with high expectations.I was very impressed and needless to say was satisfied! The pictures really don’t give this property’s view justice. It’s breathtaking and just so beautiful. The neighborhood is very quiet and subtle. Jen was in contact with me several times to check in thru out the stay to check up on us. I can’t say enough about this property, it was the best part of our entire vacation!
We were very pleased with how beautiful the cabin was and the views were just breath taking! Our girls LOVED the hot tub and every day we were on bear watch lol. We saw 9 bears and even had a momma bear & 3 cubs walk up to the front door. The community had a pool that was on the side of the mountain and my husband and I could just lay there and look out for hours. The owners of the cabin were just great! anytime I had a question they responded within minutes and they were incredibly kind! I highly recommend this cabin for anyone!
Wow!! We just got home from this property and all I can say is wow! The views themselves are worth the stay here. The home was perfect and even better than pictured. Everything you could possibly need, they had.
Communication was excellent!
My son and daughter LOVED the arcade games while my husband and I soaked in the view.
I liked that this was a little bit away from the bustle but close enough to get to everything.
The ride up the mountain was nerve-wracking at first, but only because we're not used to anything like it. It was totally fine for us after a few times.
Book now!! You won't regret it!
We've been coming to the Smokies for years and have stayed in different cabins each time. This one was our favorite.
There was plenty of room for a family of 5 (you can easily sleep 8) and we were impressed with how clean the cabin was (not always the case for us when coming to the Smokies).
The Fast n Furious game & arcade were a huge hit. And though our kids usually love bunk beds, once they saw the loft they were hooked and they slept up there all weekend.
The hot tub seemed new (and also clean) and the view is incredible. This cabin had it all.
Our hosts were very easy to connect with and they were in constant communication making sure our stay was enjoyable (which it was).
And the Preserve has some awesome amenities that we haven't found with other cabins we've stayed at in the past - we spent time at the community pool / hot tub as well as the gym / sauna / steam room.
We loved our stay and can't wait to be back....

We are so glad you enjoyed our cabin! We loved having you stay!
Property was in a nice secluded neighborhood with amazing views of Wears Valley. The property was clean and the kids loved the games, bunk beds, and loft! We’d definitely book the cabin again!
THE VIEW! This cabin was fantastic. The views from the decks were just amazing.
The cabin is in great shape and was very clean upon check in. There is really everything you could need and some. The neighborhood is nice and well kept.
The arcade game was a huge hit for the kids and adults!!
So many people have seen our pictures and asked where we've stayed.
We would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area.
The cabin and location is absolutely beautiful. The owners are wonderful and checked in to make sure everything was accommodating and gave us excellent info on the area and things to do and see. The cabin was super clean and we all enjoyed our stay tremendously! The view is top notch!
This cabin was great! Perfect for our week long family get away to the mountains. You cannot beat the views! The Christmas decor was perfect and made it feel magical this time of year. Our kids loved the games and they made for a great way for them to unwind after busy days! Jennifer and Neal were so sweet and always quick to respond if anything was needed. Would definitely recommend this cabin!
Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Great location, so close to every activity you can think of. Jennifer and Neal could not have been more accommodating with any questions we may have had. Such a great experience overall! Definitely recommend Jennifer and Neal’s cabin to family’s or couples.
This was a last minute booking for a quick 2 day trip to Dollywood with our kids, 14 and 19. Located a short drive from the downtown strip, you feel like you are on top of the world when you step out on the deck. Great view of the mountains, and a very cozy living area for relaxing. Enjoyed having morning coffee with my wife as it was the perfect respite after the fast paced day of roller coaster rides and music shows. Would recommend this property highly!
I don’t even know where to start with this property, so let’s start with the owners. Jennifer and Neal could not have been more helpful. They were attentive, and answered every question we threw at them (and we had some doozies) with knowledge and genuine kindness. They were super friendly and even checked in on us during the trip to make sure everything was good and that we didn’t have questions or need anything. Let me assure you, we needed nothing because this property was pure perfection. It has one main bedroom and master bath downstairs, and the game room which has the bunk beds. The hot tub on the lower deck was clean and super welcomed at the end of a long day. On the main level is the living room, dining room, second bathroom, the upper deck, and the two beds in the loft (which my teen took over). My mom has to sleep in a recliner bc of medical issues, so it was exactly what we needed. It was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. We had everything we needed to enjoy the trip! The beds were comfortable (although we always bring our own pillows) and the place felt like home. But the view…that was amazing. Pictures just don’t do it justice. They can’t. This is the best cabin and best view we’ve ever had in Pigeon Forge and we’ve been coming here for 20 years. My mom said we were, “up here with Jesus,” and she wasn’t far off. Pretty sure Jesus wasn’t far off either. It’s WAAAY up the mountain but the drive wasn’t bad to me. We’ve had way, way worse. Take it slow, and it’s fine. GPS took us straight to the cabin with no issues. It’s not secluded as you can see from the pics, but it didn’t obstruct the view and it was nice having security drive through occasionally. If you’re unsure if this place is what you need, all you have to do is ask the Baers. I promise they can help you and they do it with a smile. I feel like we made new friends. We will definitely be staying here again!!!

About the host
Hosted by Jennifer and Neal Baer
We're a family that loves spending time together and having fun. As our children grew up and started their own lives, we found ourselves searching for a place to bring everyone back together. When we stumbled upon a charming cabin in the heart of the Smoky Mountains, we knew we had found our home away from home.
Our cabin is located in a beautiful resort with a paved road leading right up to it. More practical than the secluded cabin we had originally envisioned, we were thrilled to discover that we didn't have to sacrifice convenience for serenity. And the view - it simply took our breath away. Plus, the mountain side pool was an added bonus that we couldn't resist.
Why they chose this property
The Story Behind Highview Lodge: Our discovery of the Smoky Mountains region occurred during our quest for a getaway that offered both stunning natural beauty and proximity to our home state. When we first visited the area, with its majestic mountain views and charming local communities, it was love at first sight. The enchanting combination of Pigeon Forge's vibrant energy, Gatlinburg's quaint charm, and the captivating beauty of Smoky Mountain National Park had us hooked!
While exploring the area, we found an abundance of outdoor activities that made each visit a unique adventure. We reveled in the exhilarating hikes with breathtaking views. We were in awe of the waterfalls and fell in love with the black bears. We were captivated by the thrill of tubing down the local rivers, effortlessly floating with the current, surrounded by verdant riverbanks and a canopy of trees. We loved the exciting rides at Dollywood, and the joy of discovering local gems in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Each season brings new experiences and attractions!
What makes this property unique
Unlike many cabins with gorgeous views, Highview Lodge is located on a paved road that stretches all the way up the mountain. The cabin perimeter has no steep drop-offs. Plus, our parking area in front of the lodge is basically flat, making it hassle-free to park your vehicle.
